Is Beyoncé about to give birth?

She concealed her pregnancy for months before revealing her baby bump at the MTV Music Awards in August. But now Beyoncé is said to be moments away from giving birth to her first child. And the appearance of the star's mother Tina, 57, sister Solange, 25, and nephew Julez in the city has certainly added weight to the report. Nurses at New York's St Luke's Roosevelt hospital have allegedly been told to prepare the labour suite for the arrival of a celebrity VIP. And designer Tina and sister Solange, were spotted leaving vintage store Stella Dallas in New York City yesterday, which means they are clearly keen to be on hand should the star go into labour. The singer lives in a multi-million pound penthouse apartment in the city with rapper husband Jay Z. It is thought the 30-year-old singer and husband Jay Z could be welcoming a child as early as today according to MediaTakeOut.com. The website reports that the half the floor of the hospital's Labor and Delivery Suite has been booked by the singer, although the hospital has not confirmed the claims. Beyoncé is thought to have reached the nine month mark in her pregnancy. And in a clip from her Live at Roseland DVD she said: 'Hello! It's September 23rd ... Right now I'm actually shooting the video for 'Countdown' and I'm six months pregnant, pretending that my stomach is flat in body suits.' A spokesperson for the singer was unavailable for comment earlier today. Beyoncé's baby may not have been born just yet but it has been the source of speculation for months. In October the singer sparked rumours that she was wearing a prosthetic belly after her stomach appeared to collapse as she sat down during a live TV appearance in Australia. Earlier this month the Love On Top singer labelled the reports 'ridiculous', and told Katie Couric that she didn't let the rumours effect her.

The US media is reporting another case of Jamaican lottery scammers targeting an unsuspecting elderly victim. A resident of Renton in Washington has been swindled out of more than US$16,000 after receiving a telephone call from Jamaica informing her that she had won the lottery. The woman paid over the money during a four month period. She said a man first called in July claiming that he was from an organization known as "Winners International" and that the widow had won a US$2.5 million lottery. After dozens of phone calls and at least 31 wire transfers, the woman sent more than US$16,000 from her bank accounts and her late husband's retirement plan. She even sold jewelry in order to meet the demands of the Jamaican scammers. The woman is now broke.

There are reports out of the US that several movie-goers have fallen sick while watching the
latest instalment of the vampire themed romance "Twilight Breaking Dawn". According to several reports, a graphic birthing scene has caused some members of the audience to suffer from seizures and black outs. In Sacramento, a man told CBS13 he began to have a seizure during the scene and his wife described his behaviour as "convulsing, snorting, trying to breathe". A man in Utah had the same thing happen to him, telling ABC-4, "I didn't really remember what happened. After that I think I blacked out. According to [my wife], I was shaking and mumbling different noises". Photosensitive epilepsy, which can be caused by flashing lights, is believed to be the cause.

They say no press is bad press, but Justin Bieber might have actually turned his baby daddy drama into good press. Bieber has been "staying positive" in the middle of the media frenzy, showing that he's more level-headed than most Hollywood superstars. Also, this whole thing has been great for promoting his upcoming Christmas album. On Tuesday, Justin appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to talk about all this paternity nonsense. Oh, and don't forget, he has a new album. "It's pretty crazy. People make up false accusations. It's gonna happen, being in the spotlight," the seventeen year-old pop star told Letterman. Letterman said that he never believed the accusations, saying he "saw red" when he heard about them. "I could smell a weasel," Letterman told him. And Bieber agreed: "I can smell a weasel, too." Justin confirmed on the show that he did indeed take that DNA test to prove that he's not the father of Mariah Yeater's baby. Of course, Letterman just had to know how he gave up his DNA, and Bieber revealed that the doctors swabbed his mouth. Letterman joked: "Is there disrobing?" David Letterman needs a bonus for having to ask that question. Bieber replied: "No, no, I don't think so!" Bieber hasn't been slowing down. After his appearance on Letterman, he had a huge concert on the Today show, which involved special guest Usher. And after that, Justin appeared on The View. On the show, Whoopi Goldberg couldn't help but notice the hair growing on her guest's upper lip. Justin explained: "It's for Movember." Movember is a movement that happens each November, where men grow facial hair to raise awareness for men's health issues. According to the Movember website, the goal is to raise awareness to the cancers that affect men.

US authorities find major drug tunnel in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- An estimated 17 tons of marijuana were seized in the discovery of a cross-border tunnel that authorities said Wednesday was one of the most significant secret drug smuggling passages ever found on the U.S.-Mexico border. The tunnel discovered Tuesday stretched about 400 yards (400 meters) and linked warehouses in San Diego and Tijuana, authorities said. U.S. authorities seized about nine tons of marijuana inside a truck and at the warehouse in San Diego's Otay Mesa area, said Derek Benner, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent in charge of investigations in San Diego. Mexican authorities recovered about eight tons south of the border. Authorities spoke at a news conference near packages of seized dope festooned with labels of Captain America, Sprite and Bud Light. The markings are codes to identify the owners. Photos taken by Mexican authorities show an entry blocked by bundles that were likely stuffed with marijuana, said Paul Beeson, chief of the Border Patrol's San Diego sector. Tunnel walls were lined with wood supports. The passage was equipped with lighting and ventilation systems. The tunnel was about four feet high and three feet wide. It dropped about 20 feet on the U.S. side. Two men allegedly seen leaving the warehouse in a truck packed with about three tons of pot were pulled over Tuesday on a highway in suburban La Mesa and arrested. A California Highway Patrol officer was overwhelmed by the smell, according to a federal complaint. Cesar Beltran and Ruben Gomez each face a maximum penalty of life in prison if convicted of conspiracy to distribute marijuana, said Alana Robinson, chief of the U.S. attorney's narcotics enforcement section in San Diego. They were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday. Cross-border tunnels have proliferated in recent years, but the latest find is one of the more significant, based on the amount of drugs seized.
