AMSTERDAM (AP) -- The editor of a Dutch fashion magazine has been fired after the publication used a racial slur to refer to Barbados-born Rihanna, setting off a social media furor and prompting an outraged response from the singer. Eva Hoeke, editor of "Jackie," and the magazine's publisher said in a joint statement on Facebook that the misuse of a racial slur -- "although without malicious intentions" -- was cause for Hoeke's departure after eight years on the job. The slur was used in an article about how to dress your daughter like a pop star. Responding to criticism that flashed across the ocean, Hoeke said at first that her use of the term was meant as a joke. She then put out a Twitter item with a more explicit apology, saying she learned, "1. Don't publish bad jokes in the magazine 2. Don't pretend bad jokes to be funny. Sorry guys. My bad." On Tuesday, Rihanna responded herself via Twitter: "Your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!!" Rather than a positive article useful to Dutch girls, Rihanna said Jackie chose to print an item "degrading to an entire race. That's your contribution to this world!" She also ended her tweet with an indelicate phrase. Hoeke said she was unaware the word she used was so loaded because "you hear it all the time on radio and TV." By Wednesday, the Facebook apology had attracted hundreds of comments, many condemning Hoeke but some saying the reaction was overblown.

New York rap legend Heavy D died Tuesday (November 8) at age 44, MTV News has learned through a source. Heavy, who was born Dwight Arrington Myers, was most known for his role in the group Heavy D & the Boyz. Together, the group recorded an array of hip-hop dance hits like 1991's "Now That We Found Love" and 1994's "Nuttin' but Love." Aside from his own hits, Heavy rapped on Michael Jackson's 1991 hit "Jam" and a remix to Janet Jackson's 1990 single "Alright" from her Rhythm Nation album. His mother is Jamaican and he is the cousin of reggae singer, Maxi Priest. According to TMZ, the Mount Vernon, New York, MC was transported to an L.A. hospital after a 911 call was placed from the musician's Beverly Hills home. The call was made around 11:25 a.m. PT to report an unconscious male, but when the ambulance arrived, Heavy was conscious and speaking. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead a few hours later at 1 p.m. ET. As of now, the cause of death is unknown. Most recently, the rapper/dancehall singer closed out the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards with an energetic performance consisting of several dance numbers. Heav powered through a host of his classics like "The Overweight Lover," "Mr. Big Stuff," "Is It Good to You" and "I Want Somebody" to the delight of the live crowd. Heavy was also active on Twitter, often sending positive messages to his followers. His last message, which came earlier Tuesday, read, "BE INSPIRED!"
On Monday, when his wife Kim Kardashian shockingly filed for divorce in L.A. after 72 days of marriage, Humphries was sweating it out -- at a gym in his Minnesota hometown. A witness saw the NBA star, 26, "working out intensely," with his wedding ring still on his finger. Intimating he was blindsided by Kardashian's move, he told Us Weekly in a statement that day: "I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work." Still, by Thursday, Humphries hit the same gym for another workout -- but this time, he was photographed with his wedding ring conspicuously missing from his finger. Did Humphries ever confide in his pals about marital woes with Kardashian, 31? "He didn't discuss it -- he's a very private guy," groomsman Anthony Polski tells the new Us Weekly. "The news is a shock. And, as his distraught future ex Kardashian cut her promotional Australian tour short Thursday, Humphries similarly nixed plans to host a party at Chateau Gardens this weekend in Las Vegas. "We can confirm that Kris Humphries has rescheduled his appearance at Chateau Gardens in Las Vegas," a rep for Chateau Gardens tells Us. "While he works through this very private matter, his friends here at Chateau Gardens understand and look forward to welcoming him back to Las Vegas when he will return to celebrate his birthday." What went wrong so quickly between the pair, anyway? After their glitzy, $10 million Aug. 20 wedding and super-luxe honeymoon in Italy, the newlyweds faced a harsh new reality. "She was like, 'Now what?'" a Kardashian insider tells Us. "They didn't know each other." And, in the aftermath, thanks to Kardashian's iron-clad prenup, "Anything earned during the marriage, she keeps," another source tells Us. "Kris does not receive any of Kim's money." Except for one thing: A cut of the hefty profits from their E! wedding special. "Kim and Kris got 30 percent of the revenue from every commercial that aired," another source says. "The wedding special aired in about 50 countries -- they made out like bandits!"

Over 2,500 politicians, journalists and celebrities, including Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons and will.I.am, attended the annual dinner, which honors excellence in journalism.
President Obama and Saturday Night Live comedian/dinner host Seth Meyers centered the majority of their jokes on Donald Trump, who had been questioning if the President was born in Hawaii.
President Obama began his speech by immediately addressing the "birthers" who claimed he wasn't born in Hawaii.
He then set his sites on Donald Trump, who was booed as he arrived at the dinner.
"Donald Trump is here. I know he's taken some flack recently, but no one is more ready to put the birther issue to rest than the Donald," President Obama said. "So he can focus real issues at hand facing America, like 'Did we really land on the moon?' 'What really happened in Roswell?' And, 'Where are Biggie and Tupac?'"
The rap name checking didn't stop there. President Obama also made fun of Donald Trump's aspirations to run for the oval office.
"We all know about your credentials, and your breadth of experience," President Obama said. "For example, on a recent episode of Celebrity Apprentice, at the steakhouse, the men's cooking team did not impress the men from Omaha Steaks. There was lots of blame to go around, but you, Mr. Trump, recognized that the real problem was a lack of leadership. Ultimately, you didn't blame [rapper] Lil Jon or [singer] Meatloaf, you fired Gary Busey. These are the kinds of decisions that keep me up at night. Well handled, sir! Well handled."
Donald Trump claimed he didn't think President Obama would address him during the White House Correspondence Dinner and called the ribbing "inappropriate."
"I had no idea it would be to that extent, where you know, it was just joke after joke after joke," Donald Trump said on Fox and Friends earlier this morning (May 1st). "It was almost like, is there anyone else they could talk about?"
Katie Holmes won't be winning any prizes for her questionable parenting techniques.
Not only was she out with daughter Suri, four, until well after midnight, but her precocious toddler was later snapped clutching a box of very inappropriate sweeties.
The box features cartoon like drawings of male genitalia, and unsurprisingly Suri seemed somewhat captivated by the brightly coloured packaging which contained penis-shaped jelly sweets.
Katie seemed as oblivious to adult candy as she was to the late hour. The phallic shaped sweets were quite clearly an inappropriate choice for the four-year-old.
A spokesperson for the restaurant confirmed to MailOnline that the Penis Gummies sweets were purchased by the group at the gift shop in front of the restaurant, but it's unclear whether they were a gift or just Suri's takeaway treat.
As usual, budding fashionista Suri was looked adorable in a cute bright red embellished dress with a pale pink fur coat and matching sheepskin boots.
Mel Gibson avoided becoming someone's b*tch in jail, but he's not getting off clean either.
Because he agreed to a plea deal (Lindsay take note!), the D.A. will only charge Mel with misdemeanor battery charge.
According to TMZ, the actual charge will be California Penal Code, Section 243(e)(1), which is battery "against a person with whom the defendant is cohabiting, a person who is the parent of the defendant's child, or a person with whom the defendant currently has, or has previously had, a dating or engagement relationship."
Its too bad he didn't get just a couple of days of jail time. It would have been great to hear about him being someone's girlfriend in the pokey.
Smith told Kiss FM, "Whenever I have a creative block, he's always like, 'Do what artists do when they have a block. Make a song about it.'"
This kid is so energetic, between watching her videos and listening to her talk about her "creative blocks", I just want to take a nap. She has the kind of energy I could only obtain through twelve hours of sleep and a few Red Bulls.
Recently Jay-Z told Hollyscoop, "When she comes in a room she lights up the room. She's ten years old, and just the way she carries herself is just amazing."
Smith is so confident in interviews it's almost intimidating. Most of us can only achieve that level of confidence after a bikini wax, a laser peel, and a glass bottle of merlot.
The troubled Two and a Half Men actor - whose public attack on show creator Chuck Lorre has led to production on the hit series being halted - has revealed plans to visit the Caribbean country, which was devastated by an earthquake in January 2010, to help Sean who has been undertaking charity work in Haiti since the disaster.
Charlie told Access Hollywood Live: "We're going to do a couple things first and then it looks like we're heading down (to Haiti). And I'm excited because, you know, if I can bring the attention of the world down there, then clearly this tsunami keeps cresting."
In a recent interview with US GQ magazine, Sean defended his friend, revealing he believes Charlie simply wants the world to "lighten" up.
He said: "When you divorce the moral judgements, which I prefer to do, I see a guy who has a clearer view of the nature of the world around him than is sometimes comfortable to have. Those are the sort of people who have a tendency to find altered states. But he's a very ironic character. He's got pretension in the crosshairs of his wit. I think to a large degree he's saying, 'Guys, we're only going to be here once, so lighten up.'"

Rumours have been circulating that Reggae artiste Fantan Mojah was denied a US visa and his upcoming tour is facing cancellations.
However, Josef Bogdanovich, owner of Downsound Records, is refuting those allegations stating that the artiste's previous work visa has expired and he is in the process of filing for a new one.
He says that the promoters are all aware of this and there are no cancellations of any dates at this time.
Charlie Sheen has yet another problem ... he's going to be sued for allegedly derailing an attempt to replace Charlie with his estranged uncle on "Two and a Half Men."
The suit claims Charlie and his dad, Martin Sheen, along with his mom, Janet, conspired to "interfere and restrain" Chuck Lorre from replacing Charlie with Joe Estevez -- Charlie's estranged uncle.
The suit claims the plan was either to have Joe replace Charlie or appear in a spin-off of the sitcom, titled "Uncle Joe."
And the suit claims, Charlie, Martin and Janet also conspired to kill a proposed reality show titled "About the Sheens."
The plaintiff in the case is attorney Ed Meyer, who worked as Joe's manager -- Joe is not a named plaintiff. Meyer tells TMZ he was Joe's business partner in the reality show. Meyer says he's now estranged from Joe.
The suit seeks at least $20 million in damages.

"I think you all pretty much know what happened. At 2:45AM a gentleman was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence," he told reporters. Adding that Christina, who was not driving, was also arrested because "she wasn't able to take care of herself. She wasn't belligerent, she just wasn't capable of taking care of herself."
Officers arrested Christina's boyfriend Matt Rutler because he was "clearly intoxicated" around 2:45AM at the intersection of Sunset and Clarke in Los Angeles. "[Christina] was brought here and when she was unable to navigate and think on her own," so she was arrested and "released at about 7:30AM."
The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) says the lifting of the suspension means that cargo and duty free items will now be allowed to leave Jamaica for these two countries.
However, the ban on cargo from Jamaica to the United States remains in effect until further notice.
The United States Transport Security Administration (TSA) imposed the ban Sunday night after it received a threat that an explosive device could be placed on a flight from Jamaica.
The ban was expanded to include the transportation of cargo to Canada and the Bahamas as these flights utilize US airspace.
Just hours after Charlie Sheen went on a radio rampage, blasting his bosses at the television show, CBS issued a statement on behalf of the network and "...Men's" production company, announcing they were pulling the show from production of new episodes.
"Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of 'Two and a Half Men' for the remainder of the season," CBS said in a statement late Thursday night.
Not long after CBS and Warner Bros. issued their statement, Sheen had some words of his own, specifically aimed at show creator Chuck Lorre.
"What does this say about Haim Levine [Chuck Lorre] after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows ... I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can't handle my power and can't handle the truth," Sheen said in an open letter, posted on TMZ's website.
Sheen went even further, attacking Lorre, suggesting this is a battle and claiming the fans will support him.
"I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words -- imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists," Sheen's statement continued. "I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong.
She was recently accused of looking 'too white' - but now Beyoncé has donned black face make-up for a shoot in French fashion magazine L'Officiel Paris.
In their 90th-anniversary issue, the Crazy In Love star takes inspiration from African culture and wears head wraps as well as tribal-style clothing and accessories - and she is seen with her caramel skintones darkened by heavy make-up.
Respected fashion magazine L'Officiel has defended the shoot, saying in a statement that Beyoncé was 'paying homage to African queens' and as a 'return to her African roots, as you can see on the picture, on which her face was voluntarily darkened.'
The magazine added: 'As for the artistic make-up, the inspiration came from several African rituals during which paint is used on the face.
Earlier this month, Beyoncé was seen sporting what was deemed a 'lighter look' with bleached blonde hair and skin that appeared to be paler than her usual shade, though dermalogical experts pointed out it was probably just a trick of the light.
And in August 2008, L'Oreal was accused of 'whitewashing' the star in an advert by digitally lightening her skin.
Oil prices hit US$100 per barrel Wednesday as forces loyal to Libya's Moammar Gadhafi clashed with protesters, expanding their control over parts of that OPEC nation.
In afternoon trading benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude for April delivery was up US$3.48, or 3.7 per cent, at US$98.90 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Prices climbed as high as US$100 earlier in the day, hitting triple digits for the first time since October 2, 2008.
WTI has jumped 18 per cent since Valentine's Day.
In London, Brent crude added US$5.33, or five per cent, at US$111.11 per barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
The rebellion in Libya, which has the most oil reserves in Africa, follows uprisings in other North African countries that have ousted leaders in Tunisia and Egypt.
As protests widened in Libya, French oil giant Total said it started to wind down its oil production in the country, which produced an average of 55,000 barrels per day last year.
That follows similar moves by other oil companies working in the country.
The country's biggest oil producer, Eni, idled operations that produce 244,000 barrels of oil and gas per day. Spain's Repsol-YPF and Austrian oil company OMV also suspended operations.
Barclays Capital estimates that as many as one million barrels per day have been shut down so far.
According to a report in the Gleaner, they were unable to get a comment from the prosecutors yesterday, more than 24 hours after a 12-member jury found Buju guilty on three of four drug-related charges.
But lawyers in the US disagree about whether the state has any grounds on which to go after Buju's assets.
David Oscar Markus, the lead attorney for the Grammy-winning reggae icon, yesterday told The Gleaner that there was no basis for the state to move to seize his assets.
Markus, who was obviously devastated over his failure to secure an acquittal for Buju, was curt as he declared the state could not take the assets.
However, controversial Florida-based Jamaican attorney, Professor David Rowe, warned that the US government could still institute forfeiture proceedings against Buju based on the conviction.
Pointing to legal precedent, Rowe said: "Among the statutory grounds for forfeiture are that the property was used or intended for use or to facilitate drug trafficking."
In a superseding indictment handed down last November, prosecutors increased the charges against Buju from two to four and indicated that if he was convicted on any count punishable by imprisonment for more than one year, they would be seeking the forfeiture of some of his assets.
"Mark Anthony Myrie, aka Buju Banton, shall forfeit to the United States ... all of (his) right, title and interest in property constituting and derived from any proceeds ... obtained directly or indirectly as a result of such violations.
"And property used and intended to be used in any manner or part to commit or to facilitate the commission of such violations," read the indictment in part.
It added that if Buju was convicted on the firearm charge, he would have to forfeit the firearm and ammunition to the state.
On Tuesday, a jury found Buju guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and aiding and abetting in using a communication facility ... in facilitating the commission of an act constituting a felony.
LOS ANGELES-Almost fourteen years after the murder of Christopher Wallace, also known as the Notorious B.I.G. a prison informant is claiming that former LAPD officers, David Mack and Rafael Perez were involved in the murder along with Death Row Records. CBS 2 reports:
Eight years later in 2005, a civil trial brought by the Wallace family against the city of Los Angeles exposed evidence hidden by the LAPD that suggests two rogue police officers David Mack and Rafael Perez may have been involved in the murder of the rapper also known as “Biggie Smalls”.
According to a newly-revealed court record, Perez’s cellmate told investigators “Perez and Mack were involved in Death Row Records. Perez got involved in Death Row through Mack.”
“Perez was working security. Perez had a cell phone. Perez said he called over to Mack, David Mack on his cell phone. Perez told Mack that Biggie Smalls was in his truck. Perez never said that he set up Biggie Smalls but I have heard that he…had something to do with that murder,” according to the inmate.
Media reports are that R&B legend El Debarge checked himself into a rehab center to deal with his CRACK-COCAINE addiction.
Here's what DeBarge said on his FACEBOOK page:
"I hate to disappoint my fans but it is necessary for me to take the time to work on me so that I may continue to share my music and my story with everyone. I thank everyone in advance for their prayers and well wishes and hope that you will respect my privacy during this time."
But the story gets even MORE interesting. Alil birdie told MediaTakeOut.com that El DeBarge SMOKED UP all the money he made from his last album - and DIDN'T have the MONEY for rehab.
So what happened? Well MediaTakeOut.com learned that rapper 50 CENT, who worked with El DeBarge on a few tracks, is footing the entire bill.
Wow . . . 50???!!! Who knew that dude had a HEART!!!
Rihanna might be dating rocker Travis Barker of rock band Blink 182. MediaTakeout claims that two people close to Rihanna have confirmed the rumor.

First Lady Michelle Obama addressed recent speculation about whether the president dyes his hair during an interview Wednesday on NBC's Today Show.
"Is he dyeing his hair?" host Matt Lauer asked the First Lady after showing her pictures snapped last month of the president's coif.
"No," she replied. Obama then commented that her husband looked "pretty gray" in the images shown. "I think if he had known he would be president, he would have started dyeing his hair ten years ago," she added.
[Side by side: See comparison photos of Obama's hair]
President Obama's barber has stated that the amount of gray in the president's hair simply depends on how close it's cut.
The First Lady also followed up on her confirmation yesterday that Obama has quit smoking.
The First Lady also revealed that daughters Sasha, 9, and Malia, 12, are not on the the popular social networking site, Facebook.
Obama noted that there are Secret Service barriers and other constraints on her daughters, who she suggested are too young to be on the site anyway. "I'm not a big fan of young kids having Facebook," Obama told Lauer. "So, you know, it's not something they need. It's not necessary right now."
Facebook policy is that users must be 13 or older, though many pre-teens flout that rule.
Mississauga businessman Denham Jolly, who spent 11 years fighting to get the licence for Toronto's first commercial black radio station, has sold the station to CTV.
Denham Jolly, who headed Milestone Inc. which owned The New Flow 93.5 FM, sold the station to CTV this week for $27 million, with the proviso that it retain the station's name and urban music orientation.
Jolly is the long-time owner of the Tyndall Nursing Home on Eglinton Ave. E.
The former community newspaper publisher was turned down twice by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in his bid to establish the station that was only approved after the African-Canadian community launched a politically charged campaign for the Greater Toronto Area's first commercial black radio station.
The president of The New Flow had difficulty defining exactly what types of music the station will play.
"It's kind of hard to say, ‘What's urban?' and ‘What's rhythmic?' and ‘What's hip-hop? Dance? What's crossover?'" said CHUM Radio president Chris Gordon, who will oversee operations. "All I can tell you is that we're committed to being a very rhythmic radio station."
The CRTC's approval of the sale binds CTV through 2017 to the terms of Flow's initial licence, which dictates an urban music format without specifics.
The deal brings to a close Jolly's run as the first black person in Canada to receive a radio licence. He spent 11 years, $400,000 and gathered 12,000 signatures to win approval from the federal broadcast regulator. But it's been an uneasy tenure.
While the station made respectable gains, eventually becoming profitable, it raised the ire of members of the black community who supported Jolly's bid.
Within three months of its launch on Feb. 9, 2001, some listeners were calling for a Flow boycott over its predominantly hip-hop playlist. They wanted programmers to adhere to Milestone's promise of a "modern-day reflection of the rich musical traditions of black musicians and black-influenced music over at least the past century" with a broader mix of reggae, soca, jazz and R&B.
"Flow catered more to the below 30, the hip-hop kind of North American vibe, so it alienated a lot of us," said Brampton-based Allan Jones, who supported a rival black bid for the frequency. "People felt it sold out a long time ago, so the sale of Flow means nothing really. What was missing then is still missing now."
"What you do to get a licence and what you do with a licence are two different things," said radio consultant David Bray of Flow's slide "from world music or urban music, to a more CHR (contemporary hit radio) format.
"They had to move more in that direction because you've got to get enough ad base to be able to get enough revenue. That is the reality of radio in Canada. It's always a balancing act, making sure that your conditions of licence are fulfilled, while at the same time becoming sufficiently commercial that you can actually make some money."
The station maintained a strong community mandate, supporting organizations such as the Jamaican Canadian Association and the Black Business and Professional Association, as well as a minority-focused scholarship at Ryerson University. Its efforts also boosted the careers of local black talent such as singers Jully Black and Divine Brown, and former Canadian Idol judge Farley Flex.
The Court of Appeal has set aside a Supreme Court order which had given the Jamaican Government the go-ahead to seize and sell the assets of a Canadian man on behalf of the Canadian government.
Yesterday, the appeals court gave 59-year-old Robert Bidwell time to file his defence opposing the sale of his assets.
The court ruled that neither Bidwell nor the Government should have any dealing with the properties until the issue has been heard and determined by the Supreme Court.
The assets, which comprise Lot 45 Breadnut Drive in Runaway Bay, St Ann, and several apartments at Bay Vista Village, also in Runaway Bay, are worth more than $200 million.
The forfeiture order was made in a Canadian court five years ago while Bidwell was being sentenced for drug-related offences to which he had pleaded guilty.
In 2008, Supreme Court Judge Leighton Pusey had ruled that the Canadian man must file his defence within 56 days after being served with the claim form and affidavit of Director of Public Prosecutions.
However, before the time had expired Justice Donald McIntosh made an order for the forfeiture order to be registered.
However, the Court of Appeal has ruled that Justice McIntosh’s order cannot stand.
The court said in the circumstances, Bidwell ought to be allowed the opportunity to file his defence.
Bidwell has been ordered to file his defence within the next 21 days and the Registrar of the Supreme Court has been directed to fix a date for the first hearing of the matter as soon as possible.
She and her sister had high hopes for their move to New York.
But things don't always go to plan for Kim Kardashian.
In last night's episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York, the reality show star has a day from hell when she gets involved in a bar brawl and gets upset about a nude magazine cover.
The bar brawl, where Kourtney's boyfriend Scott Disick gets into a fight, was well publicised when it happened last October. Kim had a drink thrown over her by a girl who became upset that her boyfriend had asked for a picture with her.
An enraged Scott left to her defence at Juliet's Supper club, and got so incensed, he was thrown out of the club.
To make matters worse, Kourtney was furious with Scott who has struggled with anger issues in the past. However, Scott, 27, had an unlikely ally in Kourtney's younger sister Khloe, who defended his actions to her sister, and the pair eventually made up.
Meanwhile, Kim was having another drama when she was shown a preview of her nude shoot for the front cover of W magazine.
The 30-year-old was under the impression that the cover would be an arty photograph which would not be too revealing.
However, the star was shocked and visibly upset when she received a copy of the cover which she referred to as 'full on porn.'
'Oh my God, I'm more naked than I was in Playboy,' she sobbed to her sisters.
'I'm so mad right now. She promised I would be covered with artwork. You can see nipple.
'The whole concept was sold to me that nothing would be seen,' she added.
Along with the cover, which featured the star naked with a few strips of text cover her modesty, the star was featured on the inside pages, completely nude slathered in silver paint.
'I feel so taken advantage of,' she sobbed to sisters Khloe and Kourtney.
'I've definitely learned my lesson. I'm never taking my clothes off again, even if it's for Vogue.
She then made an emotional phone call to her mother Kris Jenner in Los Angeles, who told her to 'own' the pictures and come out with her head held high.
And Kim seemed to change her mind when the magazine came out, declaring she is 'proud' of the pictures.
'I'm glad I did them,' she said.
Serena Williams has already admitted that she had foot surgery, following an accident involving broken glass at a restaurant in Munich last summer. However, now it is being reported that her foot is badly infected and not responding to antibiotics.
SandraRose is reporting:
“Williams has a serious bone infection (osteomyelitis) in her right foot that is not responding well to intravenous antibiotics such as Vancomycin, considered among the last-line of antibiotics that doctors use when all else fails.
As a result, Williams is losing weight and her weakened state has caused mobility problems.
In addition to dizziness, muscle weakness and low blood pressure, IV Vancomycin’s serious side effects include a persistent sore throat and swelling of the tongue and throat.
Osteomyelitis can result in great loss of bone, but is treatable if caught early. The injury has caused Serena to miss the US Open, and she has plummeted from #1 to #13 in the world.”
After what seemed like years, Demi Lovato is finally out of rehab.
She must have had some crazy ass issues if she was there for this long.
"She will continue to see doctors in L.A. who will help her work on the issues she confronted in treatment,” a source close to Demi tells People.
"For now, she is getting back to her regular routine and spending time with her family and close friends. She is so grateful to all of her fans for their support, and looks forward to being able to talk to all of them very soon."
In regards to her profession future the source added that "Demi will continue to focus first and foremost on her well-being."
As you may recall she's been in rehab since November after she went batshit crazy on one of her backup dancers.

NEW YORK – Two years ago, the Grammy Awards appeared to mark the end of Chris Brown's career. This year, it is serving as a new beginning.
Life for the multiplatinum sensation dramatically changed on the eve of music's biggest night in 2009, when he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna and both were forced to bow out of the ceremony. In the months that followed, he saw his reputation tarnished, he had to plead guilty to a felony, and his comeback CD, "Graffiti," was a commercial disappointment.
But with the success of his brush-off anthem "Deuces," three nominations at this year's Grammys (including best contemporary R&B album), an upcoming CD and an Australian tour in April, the focus on Chris Brown has returned to his music, without adding the Rihanna-prefix.
"We feel good now that everybody's talking about his music, which is exactly what Chris' intention is," said Tom Carrabba, the executive vice president and general manager of Jive Label Group, Brown's home label since he released his first album at age 16. (Brown's representative said the singer would not be interviewed for this story and, as of now, would not be attending the awards).
Carrabba says Brown has a newfound confidence, which he believes is the reason for the singer's current success.Over the past year, Brown has released a flurry of music. After "Graffiti," released in December 2009, failed to create a buzz for the singer like his past albums, Brown put out various mixtapes. One of those, "Fan of a Fan," a collaboration with rapper Tyga, featured "Deuces," a mid-tempo tune that hit No. 1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart for nine weeks; the platinum-selling single peaked at No. 14 on the Hot 100 chart. The music video for the song was No. 1 on BET's Top 100 videos of 2010.
"Deuces" is up for best rap/sung collaboration at the upcoming Grammys, where it will compete with Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind," Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" and B.o.B's "Nothin' on You," songs that are all up for the coveted record of the year award and had been No. 1 pop hits in 2010.
Kim Kardashian has yet another product to add to her long list of endorsements--booze!
Kim is 'going green' as the new face of Midori liqueur.
"My new favorite color? Green, of course!" Kim tells People of the new endorsement deal. "I’m so excited to be the face of Midori Melon Liqueur’s new campaign."
She'll appear in advertisements and in Midori’s social media channels and will make personal appearance starting in April.
Ironically Kim "doesn't" even drink alcohol. She's been very verbal over the past few years about not being a drinker. During a recent appearance on Jay Leno she said, "I've never been a drinker, I've never gotten into drugs."
A non-drinker endorsing an alcohol company? Mama Jenner can make anything happen!

CHICAGO – An emotional Oprah Winfrey says that one of the most impressive things about a Milwaukee woman's discovery that the two are half-sisters is that the woman never tried to take advantage of her or sell her story.
On "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that aired Monday, Winfrey announced that she was related to a woman identified only as Patricia. She says Patricia had known the two were related since 2007. Even though she continually tried to reach Winfrey, she never went to the media or otherwise publicized her discovery.
Patricia appeared on the show and explained that she felt it was important that she talk to Winfrey herself and not let someone else tell her.
Forty-three-year-old Canadian teacher Paul Martin, who is charged with the attempted murder of his wife — 34-year-old Cathy-Lee Clayson Martin — was on Friday denied bail when he appeared before the Falmouth Resident Magistrate’s Court for the preliminary trial.
The preliminary trial has been postponed until January 28.
Noting that the evidence against the Canadian teacher was very strong, Resident Magistrate Icolyn Reid turned down an application for bail by defence lawyer Ernie Smith who was partnered with attorney Annmarie Brown Chattoo.
“I consider the good character references of accused man but I am not minded to grant him bail. The evidence against him is very strong. The police may have his travel documents but our borders are not secure. People can get in and out,” the magistrate noted.
In making his case for bail, Smith argued that the police were in possession of Martin’s passport, therefore he should not be considered a flight risk.
Smith also noted that his client was abused by inmates at the Clarks Town lockup where he is being held. The attorney made note of a threat to intensify the physical abuses during the month of February, which is being celebrated as Black History Month.
Last month, during at the beginning of the preliminary trial, Clayson Martin told the court that she and her husband Paul, with whom she has two children, arrived in the island on December 18 and were scheduled to depart on December 23, when the incident took place.
She alleged that she and her husband checked out of the hotel they were staying in at Rose Hall, St James, at about 1:00 pm on December 23, but instead of heading towards the airport in Montego Bay, her husband drove the rented Suzuki motorcar in the opposite direction.
She further alleged that when she queried as to where he was heading, he told her that was going to take pictures from a cliff.
But upon reaching Stewart Castle in Trelawny, her husband allegedly turned off the main road to a secluded spot where he allegedly slashed her throat twice with a knife and attempted to strangle her. She also received cuts to her left thumb for which she received stitches.
We all know how private Jay-Z and Beyonce are…but if you’re curious about their relationship, and want to know more about the couple, one of Beyonce’s ex- personal assistants takes us inside Beyonce’s & Jay-Z’s relationship. Jessica LaShawn says she witnessed the crazy love between the two back in 2003 while she served as one of Beyonce’s personal assistants.
Here’s an excerpt from an article where she discusses Jay and Beyonce’s first time working together on a live performance, and how their love for each other was so obvious and powerful that everyone around them could see:
During the BET Awards in 2003 I witnessed the makings of a real relationship between two overly focused individuals willing to sacrifice and make time for each other in the midst of accomplishing their personalized greatness. I was the personal assistant to Beyonce while she prepared for the debut of her new single Deja Vu. I can recall having the song on repeat throughout the duration of my flight from Chicago to LA and feeling captivated by the 808’s and horns. There was something about the song that made me feel as if I were being transported to another place all in the name of love. Like most people, I soon realized that the passion hidden behind Beyonce’s vocals was fueled by her devotion and love for none other than Jay Z.
I sat there in amazement as I watched Beyonce go over every step as if her life depended on it. I’d heard all the stories and rumors that she was evil and possibly the daughter of Satan but none of that surfaced. A prime example of her down-to-earth-ness was displayed when she happened to be thirsty and it was my job to get her some water but she chose to go with me in order to ease her mind. She was sweet and reminded me of that home girl we all have that no matter what she just wants to laugh at the end of the day.
Regina King and boyfriend Malcolm Jamal Warner are reportedly engaged. Sources say the couple have been living together since last year and are planning to get hitched.
According to Hollywood Gossip, the anonymous source says, “Malcolm and Regina are thrilled that they’ve found the most satisfying relationship of their lives. They’re both extremely content right now. Marriage is the next step.”
“Malcolm and Regina knew each other since the ’80s, but two years ago their friendship blossomed into romance. They recently found a place together in Los Angeles and (they) are living as a family with her teenage son.”
Her son, 13, is from her previous marriage to Ian Alexander. “Malcolm loves the boy as if he was his own. Regina refers to him as her ’soul mate’.”
We’ll hold our “congratulations” until we hear this from a credible source.

Murray to Cops: Michael Begged Me For Propofol
In some of the most dramatic testimony to date, an LAPD detective testified Dr. Conrad Murray told him Michael Jackson "begged" him for Propofol shortly before he died.
LAPD Robbery Homicide Detective Orlando Martinez testified about an interview he conducted with Dr. Murray two days after MJ died. Martinez said Murray told him the night before Jackson died he was having trouble sleeping. Murray said he was trying to ween Jackson off of Propofol -- a drug he was giving MJ almost every night for two months.
Murray told Martinez he was giving Jackson a variety of other drugs, beginning sometime after 1AM, to no avail. Jackson then said if he didn't get to sleep he would cancel rehearsal.
Murray said he was feeling "pressure" from MJ to give him something to help him sleep, and Jackson was begging for Propofol. Murray claims he gave him a reduced dose, with Michael's help. As TMZ has reported many times before, Murray said MJ liked to "push in the Propofol himself and that other doctors let him do it."
Murray went to the bathroom for 2 minutes, came back and claims he saw MJ wasn't breathing.
David and Victoria Beckham are expecting their fourth child this summer, her spokeswoman said on Sunday.
The England soccer star and his fashion designer wife are based in Los Angeles, where he plays for LA Galaxy. They have three sons -- Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5.
"David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to confirm they are expecting their fourth child in the summer," Jo Milloy said in an emailed statement. "Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are very excited about the arrival of their new brother or sister."
Milloy said there were no further details available.
The announcement came on the same day that Beckham's proposed loan move to English club Tottenhan Hotspur fell through, although he will train with the London team.
The former Manchester United star and England captain has been married to former Spice Girl singer Victoria since 1999.
Beckham, 35, met Victoria Adams, 36, in the 1990s when she was known as "Posh Spice" in the hugely successful girl band. The perfect media match-up, the couple were dubbed "Posh and Becks" and instantly catapulted into the limelight.
Beckham and Adams tied the knot in July 1999, a few months after their first son Brooklyn was born.
Former talk show host and medical marijuana activist (and prescription holder), Montel Williams was arrested at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee for possession of a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana.
The Milwaukee Sheriff’s office says that the pipe was found on Tuesday by TSA agents at a security checkpoint. Williams paid a $484 fine and was allowed to continue his travel plans.
Williams, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999, says he uses marijuana to ease chronic pain. He became an activist for medical marijuana laws after being stopped at a Detroit airport for the same charge.
Rapper Foxy Brown’s trash talk on Twitter got her canned and possibly sued by her manager.Foxy’s former manager Bernadette Brennan told The New York Daily News that she dropped the rapper as a client, after her Twitter tirade on December 31st.
“It’s always sad when an artist has everything they need at their fingertips but still displays such self-destructive behavior,” Bernadette Brennan told the Daily News.
Sources told The News that Foxy – whose real name is Inga Marchand – is becoming an industry outcast over her unreliability.
Foxy infuriated promoters when she appeared more than four hours late for a show at Splash Bar in Manhattan this fall, sources said. And she blew off her own Christmas Eve event at Brooklyn’s Jelani Lounge – a gig planned to highlight a new album that remains unreleased, sources said.
At the time, the “Ill Na Na” star went on Twitter to blame a last-minute change of venue for the missed gig.
“If she had any money, we’d sue her [for not showing up],” said one Manhattan nightclub manager.
Some state workers in Cuba have begun feeling the impact of government plans to prune the country's public sector.
The first layoffs in the communist Government's programme to cut the jobs of 500,000 state workers have started, according to the head of the Cuban Workers Federation.
Cuban state-run media quotes Salvador Valdes as saying that the initial job cuts are occurring in the sugar, agriculture, tourism, health and construction sectors.
The layoffs are expected to affect 10% of the Government's work force.
These job cuts are part of an economic overhaul the authorities in Havana say is aimed at slashing government expenditure.
Up to a million going
Last September, President Raul Castro announced plans to lay off around up to a million state employees, and encourage them to find work in the private sector.
Half of those posts are to go by the end of March, just weeks before a ruling communist party congress in April.
Restrictions on private enterprise are being eased, with small businesses allowed to employ staff, borrow money, and sell services to government departments.
They will also have to pay tax.
Thousands of Cubans have already been given licences to set up private businesses, and more are registering every week.
Since taking over from his brother Fidel in 2006, Raul Castro has taken steps to reduce the state's almost total control of the economy, which has been gripped by a severe crisis in recent years.
It has suffered from a fall in the price for its main export, nickel, as well as a decline in tourism.
Growth has also been hampered by the 48-year US trade embargo.
The Government insists that the " socialist character" of Cuba's political system will not change.
But some observers say that Cuba could be entering a period of potential social upheaval.
A US federal judge has granted bond for the American man accused of taking ammunition onto a commercial airliner last week while en route to Jamaica.
Bond was offered when the accused, 37 year old Orville Braham, appeared in a Miami Court on Tuesday.
His family will have to co-sign a 200-thousand dollar bond, putting up 10 percent of the amount in cash, in order to secure his pretrial release from jail.
On December 28, Braham checked two bags on an American Airlines flight from Boston to Jamaica, with a stopover at Miami International Airport when an airport worker removed a bag from the aircraft an ammunition primer exploded.
A primer is the back end of a bullet that provides the spark which ignites the gunpowder.
Investigators found about 700 primers in the damaged bag and also discovered one thousand of them in a second suitcase Mr. Braham was travelling with.
Parts of a disassembled ammunition reloading press were also found in the second piece of luggage.
Braham, who is charged with transporting ammunition without notifying the carrier, reportedly admitted to transporting the primers, which he said he bought at a 2009 gun show.
Braham is married with six children and lives in Brockton, Massachussets.
He told investigators he frequently travels to Jamaica because his mistress lives here.
Queen Latifah recently sat down with Parade magazine and shared what she wants to achieve in the future. She told the mag that in 10 years, she hopes to be “on cruise control, with a couple of kids under my belt.” Is she making a move in that direction? “It’s in the Lord’s hands.” Meanwhile, her overarching goal right now “is just to enjoy life more. I work a lot. I want to make sure I’m living life to the fullest and checking in with me.”
She also shared some insights about some of the lessons life has already taught her:
FAMILY VALUES HUSTLE = SUCCESS
Latifah took her early cues as a businesswoman from her family. “My grandfather owned a hardware store in Newark,” she says. “Just seeing him become successful and how it became a family business was always interesting to me. And if my brother and I wanted money in our pockets, we had to get jobs–my first was at 15, at Burger King. We had to come up with ways to create an income.” She avoided the routes that some neighborhood kids took. “Unfortunately, some of the brightest minds use that hustler spirit and apply it to becoming drug dealers. I didn’t want to be that person. It wasn’t a positive way to make money, and we all knew that it led to death or jail.”
She may have just given birth two months ago, but Alicia Keys isn't letting that get in the way of some retail therapy.
The 29-year-old was spotted shopping with Swizz Beatz last week in St Barts.
And it's clear the singer was full of energy and enthusiasm as she walked hand in hand with her husband.
Wearing a loose yellow kaftan and white trousers, the Empire State of Mind star looked happy and relaxed as she browsed in stores like Louis Vuitton.
Alicia gave birth to baby son Egypt Daoud Dean, in October, just a few months after getting married to Swizz over the summer.
And she's already written a song for the new addition to their family.
Collaborated with rapper Eve, the song is called Speechless and is produced by Swizz.
Taking to Twitter to announce the song, she wrote: 'Speechless is a little freestyle treat 4 the holidays.
'It's not a new album, not a single it's something special 4 U! My gift to you ... a little song about my lil guy ;-) love to you....let's make 2011 incredible!!!'
Keys married 32-year-old rap producer Swizz , real name Kaseem Dean, July 31, shortly after announcing they were expecting.
The nuptials were held in Corsica in front of close friends including Queen Latifah and U2 rocker Bono, and presided over by Deepak Chopra.
Rihanna’s album Loud, is now double platinum.
The singer tweeted a shout out to fans across the world for taking the album two million worldwide.
The paparazzi caught up with Rihanna, who wants some quality time with her younger brother Rajad.
Fourteen year old Rajad has asked his sister to accompany him and six friends to Vegas for his 15th birthday.
Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife Nicole is broke!! Rumor has it she blew the $15 million settlement from her divorce with Eddie in 2006, and she didn’t just spend all of her money; she owes the IRS $846,000 and was forced to put her home up for sale. When Nicole divorce Eddie Murphy, she opted for the one time payment instead of monthly installments.DAMN!!
And get this…the IRS isn’t the only people she owes money to, Nicole also owes a law firm $600k, $60k to a landscaping firm, and owes $5 mill on her LA home.
Nicole Murphy is engaged to FOX NFL Today analyst and former NFL player Michael Strahan.

Trinidad-American rapper, Foxy Brown, should reportedly be releasing a Lil Kim diss track today.
`Christmas Massacre` will reportedly be released on Christmas eve. On the track, Foxy reportedly gives a shout out to Trinidad rapper Nicki Minaj who hit up New York`s Hot 97 this week and said that she once was told by Foxy Brown that Lil Kim was talking about her.
The song will premiere at a holiday party at Club Jelani`s.
Minaj meanwhile has also said during the appearance that Lil Kim will be remembered as a `sore loser.` Now Kim plans to release a dis track called `Black Friday` going after the Pink Friday star.
Keyshia Cole has come to realize what we all already knew: that “I Ain’t Thru” featuring Nicki Minaj was not worthy of being a lead single. It wasn’t instantly catchy, radio friendly, nor did it showcase trademark Keyshia’s power vocals.
Keyshia recently admitted to the Associated Press that she regrets releasing the song, especially since she went against the advice of her label.
“The label didn’t really want to drop the record because they knew that people wanted a more intense, soulful record from me about love and I really should have followed (their) direction. But I wanted that to be a statement record. It’s like saying, ‘I’m doing me, you know. I don’t have no regrets for nothing that I’m doing.’”
She knew going for a more club-oriented record was risky, but she wanted to take a chance, saying, “I just think that people expect me to be, you know, an artist that sings about just love. But I’m always growing as an artist and I have to feed my artistry.”
We respect her for stepping off her familiar territory, but this time around, it just didn’t work.
Haitian-born Grammy singer, Wyclef Jean, is set to record a duet with Country Music star, Kenny Rogers.
The former Fugees front man recorded Kenny`s hit `The Gambler` a few years back, and now Rogers is anticipating what the two could team up for his duets album called `Killer Combinations.`
`Wyclef Jean is a friend of mine, and he did `The Gambler` on his record once before, and it was a pretty cool thing,` Kenny tells Gannett.com. `He did a whole rap version of `The Gambler,` and I sang - actually spoke - part of the thing. I`d like to do something with him that`s musical, for lack of a better term, because he`s a very big guy in Haiti - that`s where he`s from- and I have a really good following down there. I think we could do something musically very interesting.`
Haiti and other Caribbean nations have long been solid fans of Rogers and Country music.
Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network is set to launch January 1, 2011. After three years of planning, delays and management misfires, it will be the biggest launch of a cable channel in more than a decade.
Here’s what you can expect:
“Oprah Presents Master Class” biography series will share the life stories of those who have inspired Oprah, like Maya Angelou, Sidney Poitier, and Simon Cowell.
“Oprah’s Next Chapter” features the talk show host interviewing, but this time it will be outside of a studio! She plans to visit “interesting places — in front of the Pyramids, the Great Wall, or in a village in Kenya.”
“The Gayle King Show” brings Oprah’s best friend’s radio talk show to TV.
“Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star” features Oprah looking for the next big thing with the help of “Entertainment Tonight’s” Nancy O’Dell.
While the network’s shows sounds promising, viewers finding the channel poses a problem. Winfrey’s network will mostly reside on channels above 200, taking over the position of the Discovery Health Channel. The higher the number, the less likely viewers will stumble across the programming.
Tiger Woods' brother, Earl Woods Jr., had some interesting things to say about the golfing superstar. Woods is the oldest of three children who came from the previous marriage of Tiger's now-deceased father. Tiger's brother now publicly claims that Woods has cut the family off and that he hasn't spoken to him since 2006. Apparently, they spoke quite frequently when Tiger was younger. It seems that, according to Earl, the trappings of fame, entourages and piles of money may have detached Tiger from that which matters most: those who love us. At the same time, we can't say for sure what happened in Tiger's family that caused the division to occur in the first place. Tiger's brother says that although they were invited to ride on Tiger's jet to their father's funeral, the golfer barely acknowledged them during the trip.
One interesting thing about Tiger Woods is that he has long been notorious for cutting off those who've crossed him. Friends who spoke to the media about his personal life were gone forever, and Tiger has reportedly been quite ruthless in protecting his privacy. All that changed with the Internet, where privacy is no longer an option, when TMZ can fly a helicopter over the roof of your house. Tiger learned this year that no matter how powerful the celeb might be, no one can have complete control over his destiny, public image and lifestyle.
Another added point that gives credibility to Earl Woods Jr.'s side of the story is that Tiger has appeared to possess a bit of the narcissism that comes with being the greatest golfer in the history of the world. A married man who has unprotected sex with porn stars (as Woods reportedly did) might be perceived to be a wee bit inconsiderate. There's no way to determine what personal nightmares Tiger's ex-wife Elin has experienced since finding out about her husband's secret life.
Earl Woods Jr. didn't appear to be on a mission to bash his baby brother. Instead, he actually defended Tiger's public image, and made it clear that the man being portrayed in media is not the person his brother actually is. He also didn't seem to be chasing money, but then again, we don't know what his ambitions might be. To be honest, if Earl Woods is having financial problems, it would be frustrating to be cut off by a brother earning over $100 million per year. I'm sure that every family member's financial problems could be solved with the spare change in Tiger's pocket. To that extent, given the size of Woods' massive fortune, it would be expected that he would create a small fund (perhaps just a measly million bucks) to help with family financial problems -- a man should take care of the people who loved him before he became a big shot.
During his interview with CNN, Earl made a final point that many of us speculated to be true in the first place. He said that Tiger has been lost since the death of his father, Earl Woods Sr. It does appear that the loss of his dad changed Tiger in ways that most of us can't imagine. Loss and grief can make us do strange things, and superstars like Tiger Woods are no exception. Let's hope that Tiger finds his way to happiness and a truly wealthy life.

Despite the praise for its cast, Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls failed to earn a nomination in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category. The film adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s groundbreaking 1974 choreopoem was also overlooked by The Golden Globes.
The cast included Janet Jackson, Kimberly Elise, Loretta Devine, Thandie Newton, Phylicia Rashad, Tessa Thompson, Whoopi Goldberg, and Macy Gray.
The SAG awards are considered by many to be a forecast of how the Oscar nominations will play out. Winners will be announced when the 17 Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are broadcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at 8 p.m. ET.
Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are reportedly planning an intervention for their 17-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, according to the National Inquirer.
Though the Inquirer has never been the most reputable source, we have noticed that Bobbi Kristina is frequently spotted partying.
Her parents, who have publicly struggled with serious addiction problems themselves, are reportedly trying to prevent her from making the same mistakes that they did.
A source reveals:
“Whitney and Bobby sat Bobbi Kristina down and read her the riot act. They brought in counselors and they’re trying to drum into her that because of their problems, she’s genetically predisposed to alcoholism and drug addiction. They’ll do anything to spare Bobbi Kristina from the substance abuse hell they’ve both experienced. Whitney and Bobby are torn because they don’t want to alienate their daughter and overact, but they realize she’s at risk for serious addiction problems, just like them. They’re dealing with these issues as a family, and they’re praying it’s not too late to get Bobbi Kristina back on track.” SOURCE
Not long ago, many Zimbabweans in search of fertile ground for a diversity of foreign musicians looked up to Johannesburg, South Africa.
With the advent of the 2010 World Cup, South Africa became the envy of many Zimbabweans. This was so when it was announced that The Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Alicia Keys and John Legend were some of the stars performing at the inaugural Fifa World Cup Kickoff Celebration Concert at Orlando Stadium, Soweto, on June 10.
The concert was being billed as the greatest entertainment event to be held on the African continent, and was broadcast to over a billion people in 92 countries.
The price of tickets ranged from R200 to R500. In an economy like that of South Africa, this was affordable and Orlando Stadium had full capacity audience.
Zimbabwe, despite a weaker economy, is however slowly turning the tables as big name artistes such as Akon and Sean Paul are slowly trickling into the country.
Sean Paul proclaimed that Zimbabwe was a concert country and is looking forward to having some reggae sunsplashes here.
As more and more reggae and dancehall artistes make a beeline to Zimbabwe, one begins to wonder what the sudden attraction is.
Since 2009, after the introduction of the multi-currency system in the country, foreign artistes have found Zimbabwe once again attractive for doing business as anyone can trade throughout the world with the US dollar without hassles. The universal regard for money is the one hopeful fact in modern civilisation and artistes, just like diamond traders, will travel anywhere to get it. As George Bernard Shaw put it many years ago, “Lack of money is the root of all evil”, because all evils, be it robbery, adultery, theft, prostitution, fraud, bribery and other bad practices are motivated by the need to make money.
On the other hand, money is the most important thing in the world. It represents health, strength, power, honour, generosity and beauty. If one has money, he can solve many problems.
Music promoters bring in foreign artistes with the hope of attracting large audiences who will in turn spin such projects into money-making ventures.
These promoters try hard to be careful, proficient and efficient because of the big financial risks involved.
The amount of groundwork required before a show is put on is quite phenomenal and often requires a considerable amount of financial backing.
The business begins with choosing popular acts which the promoter feels will draw large crowds of people. After contracts have been signed, there is a lot of bureaucracy that has to be attended to. The artistes themselves end up in Zimbabwe due to the attraction of money. The cost of staging a concert with an international artiste ranges from US$20 000 to US$2 million depending on the popularity of the artiste.
Usually, the music promoter will pay the artiste 10 to 15 percent of that budget for two hours’ performance.
Foreign artistes who have cashed in on performances in Zimbabwe from the beginning of 2010 include Sizzla Kalonje, Yassus Afari, Sean Paul, Brick and Lace, Beenie Man and King Sounds — all from Jamaica.
Other artistes included Freshly Ground and Hugh Masekela from South Africa; Salif Keita from Mali and Akon from the USA.
In two weeks’ time, Zimbabwe will be playing host to another dancehall artiste from Jamaica, Capleton, who will close the year 2010 with two concerts to be held in Harare and Chitungwiza. But that is not the end of musical entertainment in Zimbabwe as more and more artistes are lined up for 2011. Macka B, the Jamaican singer and social commentator, is lined up for a performance in Zimbabwe at the end of March 2011.
Twenty-year-old American rapper Sean Kingston has used YouTube to announce a planned tour of Zimbabwe in the New Year. Kingston, who shot to fame in 1997 with his smash hit, “Beautiful Girls (Suicidal)”, says in the video that he will perform in Harare on April 23.
I do not believe the promoters who arranged the concerts in 2010 made any money, some due to lack of experience or by simply being egocentric, others due to sheer arrogance and reluctance to engage known experts in the game.
There was a time when a fool and his money were soon parted, but nowadays it seems to be happening to every Zimbabwean music promoter. Imagine an artiste like Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Black Eyed Peas, R. Kelly or Usher coming to Zimbabwe next year. The promoter goes around boasting to all his admirers that he is bringing so and so. The budget for such a concert would be around US$2 million.
The obvious choice of venue would be the National Sports Stadium. Let’s say, the stadium is filled to its full capacity of 60 000. Charging concert goers US$20 each to attend it in this economy is considered a bit over the top, but assuming that everyone pays, some US$1 200 000 will be realised, making a loss of US$800 000, yet the promoter still goes ahead and makes such plans. When will he learn?
My dear, my very dear promoter, on this thread full of incoherence, your tortured accounts and what amounts to no more than gloating, your thread is not a beacon of reason and light. Knowledge can be communicated to you, but not wisdom.
I am not trying to discourage future promoters of musical events, but all I am stating is that there is a need to plan carefully before jumping on the bandwagon.
Just because you have been able to speak to R. Kelly is no reason for excitement and then begin to yield to his ridiculous demands. Some of these artistes have got clever managers who will put forward all sorts of conditions which you will only realise at a later stage that you neither have the experience nor the skills to even hold a concert for a bunch of drunkards at a local beer garden.
I do not feel obliged to believe that the Almighty who has endowed all of us with sense, wisdom, reason and intellect, has intended us to forgo their use. It is one thing to interpret your dreams into silver and gold, but one needs to tread very carefully the path that he follows to achieve this goal. Zimbabwe, unlike South Africa, does not have the concert-going population to warrant a budget of US$2 million.
The economy here forces promoters to charge US$20 or less for fans to attend an international concert as evidenced by the recent Real Deal show where only a handful reluctantly paid US$100 to be in the golden circle. In South Africa a VIP ticket costs R500 (about US$75) and hundreds of people
To say that when Zimbabwean promoters dream, they are not conscious, is to speak loosely. Come on guys, you can make this country the hub of musical entertainment if you try harder. You have read my case, and if you are not wiser than when it started, you must be at least better informed now. Nuff said.
Before Diddy there was P-Diddy there was Puffy. Before that there was Puff Daddy. Before that even there was Sean Combs. What was little Sean running from that he had to change his name so many times? I’m guessing it was this picture.
9. Pharell Williams
Looking like a Samurai with an erasure head haircut, Pharell Williams proved to everyone in the business that stylists are indeed an important part of being famous. It’s just too bad he went from looking like the offspring of Godzilla and Papermate to dressing a little like the Joker.
If anyone ever looked like they didn’t want to be somewhere it was young master Carter here in his (??) graduation picture. Jay-Z never finished high school, so this was as close as we could get to a graduation picture. Maybe he graduated from elementary school and grandma sprang for some pics? Maybe the face is because Jay-Z himself was a little confused by the cap and gown.
Ranked in one of the Top 10 Most Likable Stoners of All-Time it’s hard to imagine Snoop looking clean cut- but here is it. This is photo graphic evidence that Snoop Dogg actually did not spring forth from a sensimilla bud and onto MP3 players around the world. He looks a little like he just won a science fair somewhere.
I’ve had debates about things in the past that had no bearing on anything. One of these is why little Marshal Mathers was so pissed off. Looking a little like the illegitimate son of Sylvester Stallone might have something to do with it. Yo Adrian!
5. Kanye West
Voted most likely to be someone- everyone shakes their head at. Kanye West spent most of his high school career snatching the chalk from teacher’s hands and giving sermons in class. “I don mean no disrespect or nuthin… but Columbus was whack. E’rybody knows that Magellian was the dopest explorer of all time!!!”
T.I. looks like the cover of a cereal box. Seriously. “It’s good for you and tastes good too.” His recent prison stint was neither kid tested nor mother approved however. Look for him to break out big(ger) in the future. I predict bigger things from this guy than we’ve seen from him so far even…. huge.
3. Ice Cube
“I’ll tumble for ya… I’ll tumble for ya… I’ll tumble for ya I’ll tumble for you”. Or wait wait… “Feel the beat of the rythm of the night…”
2. 50 Cent
50 Cent (pronounced Fiddy-Cen) looked like the kind of kid that you just couldn’t trust. IN FACT he looks like the kid that stole my bike.
1. Lil Jon
“How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?” You can ask Mr. Owl or Lil John. Late bloomers with latent smooth potential… bet NO ONE saw it coming.
Tyrese has had it with all the media whores. He took to his Twitter account to express his feelings on the recent uprise in fake celebrity couples.
And we see where he’s coming from. From Kanye and Selita Ebanks to Kanye and Kim Kardashian, from Amber Rose and Fabolous to Amber Rose and Reggie Bush, it’s hard to tell what relationships are real and which are made for the public eye.
Here’s what Tyrese had to say:
“If you try and build, develop, and mold your relationship on a PUBLIC STAGE… You will welcome the spirit of opinion and it could KILL it. Love is beautiful when it’s defined and nurtured ALONE… Then when you GO PUBLIC.. What you have built PRIVATELY can’t be AFFECTED!!
Media whores become desperate for PUBLIC APPROVAL.. People with class and tact fall back and DISCOVER .. Love is beautiful when it’s real.
Only on their second date.. And already on the red carpet kissing and making out? Well, well.. Good luck buddy!!
I wanna be CLEAR.. I’m not saying people should NOT live their lives and have fun!! But there are PLENTY of restaurants that don’t have Papz
Truth be told.. There are a LOT of the media whores who actually CALL THE PAPZ and tell them where they are going.. Desperate anyone?
I’m a very private man who happens to live a very private life. My privacy is all I OWN. I give a lot of me to the world but not EVERYTHING!”
The status of Ja Rule’s freedom could be determined this week as the rapper is nearing trial for a July 2007 gun possession charge in Manhattan, New York.
According to MTV News, Ja Rule reached a plea deal with prosecutors and will serve two years in Jail
Ja Rule was arrested on July 23rd, 2007 after police stopped his $250,000 Maybach for speeding after a concert at the Beacon Theater.
Police also found that the registration on the pricey vehicle was suspended and had no insurance.
According to the Associated Press, the smell of marijuana gave police a reason to search the vehicle. Ja Rule was arrested when a.40 caliber semiautomatic handgun in the rear driver’s side door was found.
The judge has already thrown out Ja Rule’s statement that he had weed on him and he wasn’t charged with drug possession, bolstering the defense’ argument that the search was illegal.
Ja Rule is facing up to four years in prison under New York’s tough anti-gun laws, which have sidelined other stars, like Lil Wayne and NFL star Plaxico Burress.
Nicole Richie and her boyfriend of four years, Joel Madden, said "I do" in a winter-themed ceremony Saturday in Beverly Hills, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.
Held at the home of Nicole's father, Lionel, the black-tie evening event was attended by approximately 150 family members and friends, including Khloe Kardashian and Samantha Ronson. Richie's childhood pal Kardashian, 26, Tweeted from the bash: "I love weddings!"
Officiating the ceremony was none other than Run-DMC rapper and reality star Rev. Run, a wedding guest tells Us exclusively. The hip-hop pioneer (real name: Joseph Simmons), 46, is also an ordained minister. The couple "have looked up to Rev. Run, so they wanted him to officiate," the guest explains.
One other guest: an elephant! Around 5:40 p.m., observers spotted an elephant arriving in the driveway; the animal was led into a white tent with other revelers.
The bride's BFF, Masha Gordon, served as maid of honor, while the couple's 2-year-old daughter, Harlow, was the flower girl. (The couple also have son Sparrow, 15 months.) In the wee hours on Sunday morning, Joel's brother, DJ Josh Madden, happily Tweeted of the nuptials: "The stuff of which memories are made."
If you haven’t seen Matt Kemp and Rihanna coupled up lately, I think I know why…Rumor has it the relationship is over. Apparently there’s been a lot of cheating on both sides and the couple have called it quits.
Rihanna: I Could Be Pregnant A Year From Now
With Kemp partying in his off-season, and Rihanna traveling the globe promoting her music, the two slowly drifted apart..Kemp’s penchant for clubbing was also partly to blame for the demise of their relationship.
PORT-AU-PRINCE — Haitian elections officials said Thursday they will review the tallies of the top three vote getters in last week’s controversial presidential elections under the watchful eyes of both Haitian and foreign observers.
The Provisional Electoral Council said after reviewing the tallies assigned to Mirlande Manigat, Jude Célestin and Michel “Sweet Micky” Martelly for irregularities, it might ask for a vote recount.
The three leading candidates will be allowed to be present for the review.
Keri Hilson is on the promo circuit and hit up “Chelsea Lately” last night to plug her “No Boys Allowed.” Handler asked Hilson why she won’t date rappers? Hilson broke it down like this:
“When you mix a man who has popularity, who has money, who has b*tches, that’s a scary thing for me. It doesn’t speak to my insecurities, it’s just not the type of man that I want and I think I’m not the type of girl they want. I have a brain, I’m a little more than they bargained for.”
Wesley Snipes is finally in federal custody after trying to get his 3-year sentence for tax evasion delayed until after the holidays.

Another spokesperson for the B.O.P., Ed Ross, confirms, “Wesley Snipes has arrived and is at the prison facility in PA.”
NEW YORK, USA (AP) — Oprah Winfrey says she's not a lesbian, not even a little bit.
Her long personal and professional connection with Gayle King has sparked rumours that they are gay, but Winfrey denies it in a-soon-to-be-aired interview with ABC television's Barbara Walters.
"I'm not even kind of a lesbian," Winfrey says.
Persistent gossip to the contrary annoys her, she says, explaining that, if it were true, "Why would you want to hide it? That is not the way I run my life."
Asked to describe her relationship with King, Winfrey calls her "the mother I never had, the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves". Winfrey's eyes moisten and her voice chokes as she adds, "I don't know a better person."
Winfrey will end her daytime talk show next spring and, on January 1, is launching a cable channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network.
That new venture has given her moments of panic.
"I would wake up in the middle of the night literally like clutching my chest, like, 'What have I done?'" she tells Walters.
Ten year old Willow Smith became a star overnight thanks to her incredibly infectious single “Whip My Hair.”
That quick trajectory into the stratosphere is starting to take its toll on the young star.
She says that though she describes her new found fame as “awesome,” she’s already starting to feel like the success is coming at the expense of her childhood in an interview with NME magazine.
“The hardest part is wanting to hang out with your friends when you have to work,” she says. “My friends will come over and you’re recording and you’re like, ‘Pleeease let me go with my friends. I don’t wanna stay here!’ but people are relying on you.”
We hope her parents recognize this and allow her to have as much of a normal childhood as possible despite her increasing star power!
Wow, that was fast…Kim Kardashian has dumped Halle’s ex-Gabriel Aubry for another ball player (and this time it’s not a football player). The reality star is reportedly dating New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries.
PEOPLE is confirming that the two have already gone their separate ways.
“They still talk,” says a source close to the duo. “They were getting to know each other, but realized they might be better off just being friendly.”
Kardashian, who has made no secret of her fun and flirty outlook and single status, was ready to move on and get back into the dating game.
The two have been seen in the New York area a number of times. Kardashian watched Humphries’ Nets play in Newark on November 29th; the pair were spotted at a bar in Hoboken on December 5th; and they dined at Nobu in New York City recently, as well.
When those words came across Bow Wow’s Twitter account, people worldwide immediately expressed concern that the rapper was suicidal, however in an interview with WKYS-FM 93.9 in Washington, DC, he says that his words weren’t meant to imply that he wanted to take his own life.
Bow Wow says that the tweet was misunderstood and that he felt that the only way he would find any peace would be when he was dead.
Hmm… We’ll have to take his word for it. Next time Shad, choose your words a bit better. You’re a rapper. You know how important word choice is!
After undergoing surgery for an unreported illness last week, many people feared the worst for Aretha Franklin’s health.
The singer, who earlier this year cancelled all concerts through May 2011 due to “medical reasons,” came out of surgery in good spirits according to her publicist.
However, the National Enquirer is reporting that the Queen of Soul is fighting pancreatic cancer, a disease that claims the life of 90-95% of those who are unfortunate enough to receive the diagnosis.
While the Enquirer may have the history of being a tabloid, the publication was the first to report on actor Patrick Swayze’s battle with pancreatic cancer, which he lost in 2009, as well as actress Christina Applegate’s battle with breast cancer in 2008.
Detroit’s Fox affiliate, Fox 2, has confirmed that Franklin was diagnosed with cancer. Her family says that she is doing “OK” at the present time.
Our prayers are with Aretha, and we anxiously await the day that we hear that she’s been given a clean bill of health.

A new Michael Jackson music video is hitting the Internet preceding the launch of a posthumous Jackson album.
The video, previewed by The Associated Press, debuts at midnight Thursday Eastern time on worldwide websites, including MichaelJackson.com, said Jackson estate co-administrator John Branca.
It showcases Jackson's duet with Akon, "Hold My Hand," recorded before the superstar's 2009 death. It's the first single release from the 10-song CD, "Michael," launching Dec. 14.
The hyperkinetic, four-and-a-half-minute video shows Jackson in concert, Akon singing and dancing, sentimental scenes of children, families and old people holding hands and a woman weeping.
The song opens with the prescient line, "This life don't last forever...So tell me what we're waiting for...Hold my hand. "
When Diddy hosted a special breast cancer fundraiser on Long Island last month, it seems like someone forgot to brief him on the details.
The event was to benefit the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group Foundation, which does breast-reconstruction and other operations for underprivileged patients, and 1 in 9: The Breast Cancer Action Coalition. Billed as a take-off of Diddy’s legendary “White Party,” at which all attendees must wear all white, attendees were asked to wear a touch of pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Apparently Diddy, who was hosting the event, didn’t get that memo as he wasn’t wearing any pink and seemed to be unaware that he was supposed to be.
But that’s not the worst of it.
According to the representatives from the organizations, they haven’t seen any of the money that was raised that evening.
“We never got a penny,” Carolyn Spector, director of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group Foundation, told the New York Post.
“Nothing was written down, but we were told we would get part of the take,” she said. “The terminology was ‘proceeds from the event.’”
A 1 in 9 staffer says “It’s just a little embarrassing. People say, ‘How much did you raise for your programs?’ And we say, ‘We haven’t seen anything yet.’ ”
Both organizations say that plenty of money was coming in, as attendees were charged $10 at the door, and $1,000 to sit in a special VIP area with Diddy. Spector says that Glo, the club that hosted the event, was packed by 1 am.
A spokesperson for the club says otherwise.
“It was agreed that if there was a profit, a portion of it would be given to the charity,” said Glo spokeswoman Danielle Orsino. “But the night of the event, there was a torrential rainstorm. They expected thousands and only a few hundred showed up. So they lost money.”
Diddy, however, definitely didn’t lose any money. The charities say Diddy left with $80,000. The nightclub says he walked out with a “considerable amount of money.” Diddy refused to comment on how much he made that night.
Diddy also tells the New York Post that he did nothing wrong and doesn’t owe the charities anything.
“I didn’t know what the [club] owner promised — that had nothing to do with me,” Diddy says.
“I had no information about the charity. When the event was booked, it was just for an appearance. I agreed to let him add the charity because I thought it was a good idea.”
If you’ve been wondering why Kim Kardashian has been looking extra voluptuous lately, it could be because she may be pregnant!!
The folks at mediatakeout.com are reporting that the reality star is with child.
The insider, who asked to remain nameless told the website:
“Kim has been seeing Kanye [West] off and on for years now. But this summer, they [hooked up] five or six times.” The insider continued, “Kanye told her that he didn’t want anything serious, but Kim really likes him.”
And now, according to the insider, she suspects that Kim Kardashian is PREGNANT. The insider explains, “Kim is being very secretive about everything. She calls [Kanye] almost non-stop and wants to know what she should do.” The insider reportedly OVERHEARD the conversation between Kanye and Kim, with her OWN EARS.
The budding romance between Halle Berry’s ex- Gabriel Aubry and Kim Kardashian has reportedly “horrified” Halle Berry. Halle is said to be fuming over the possibility that Nahla, her daughter with Gabriel, could appear on an upcoming episode of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’
“Halle would not be happy to see Kim with Nahla,” an insider told Star Magazine. “She wants her daughter out of the spotlight – not with a reality star that’s been in a porno.”
Halle’s ex, Gabriel however is said to be ignoring Halle’s wishes.
“He announced that he intends to spend Christmas with the Kardashians and he would be taking Nahla over to meet the whole family,” the source revealed.
Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina has been out of control for a quite some time now, but it maybe time for her parents to reel her in ASAP!!!

Kanye West t is now officially a reality show star! We all had a feeling we’d see him on the upcoming Kourtney and Kim Take New York, but now it’s confirmed!
Kanye and Kim Kardashian were photographed an awful lot in the last few weeks, and I should have known it was all for the cameras!
In the clip, Kanye calls the girls out for their store being a total disaster with only two weeks until opening day. But based on their Black Friday sales—I hear they made $100K—they’ve obviously figured out how to make it work!
Check out the sneak peek of Kourtney and Kim Take New York …it airs January 23.
Prince William is officially off the market, but his naughty younger brother, Prince Harry is still available. And bad girl Nicki Minaj has a serious crush on him.
Nicki is convinced that if Prince Harry met her, he's fall pretty hard, and that they'd make an amazing couple. “Tell Prince Harry to call me!,” she said.
“I feel like I’m almost about to be royalty, so if he teamed up with me, I think I could make him look good. I think we’d be a good couple. I’d help him step his game up.”
She's even thought about what she's going to do to impress his grandmother, the Queen. “If I was to meet the Queen I would bow down and I would give her a wig! This wig would be so fly on the Queen,” she joked. “I want to meet her so bad! Do you think that will happen?”
I can totally see these two having a casual hookup. Nicki is wild and sexy and Prince Harry has always been a bad boy at heart.
Rihanna is now she's upset with herself that she would stick around in an abusive relationship.
Rihanna and Chris briefly reunited after the February 2009 drama and she can't believe she did that.
“It was a situation I always told myself I would never allow myself to be in. It’s something I would force girlfriends to get out of. But there I was, sitting in it,” she said. "I witnessed physical abuse happening to my mum and I always said I would never let that happen to me, and then it was happening to me.
“Now, when I look back at it, it just bugs me out that I couldn’t see it for what it was.”
One thing that Rihanna hates is when people feel pity for her. She doesn't wanna be known as the girl who got beat up by her boyfriend.
“Before that, I was just a little girl from the island, singing pop music,” she said. “It was easy to think I was shallow I had everything. It seemed like I had no problems in the world....And all of a sudden, boom! Everybody realizes I do have problems. I have too much pride. I would rather put on a face.
I would never let anyone see me cry. And I’m not like, ‘Please cry for me, I’ve been in a bad relationship.’ I hate that you know that and I don’t want you to remember me for that.”
Rihanna is currently dating Matt Kemp and clearly she is in a happier place.
Authorities say rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant as he left a restaurant near Universal Studios outside Los Angeles.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Shawn Ruda says Knight was released about an hour after his arrest early Saturday.
Ruda tells the Los Angeles Times that Knight was stopped by deputies, who ran his name through computers and discovered he was wanted on a minor traffic warrant issued recently in Beverly Hills.
Knight was brought to West Hollywood, where he was cited and released, after agreeing to appear in court within two months.
Ruda says Knight, who has a long arrest record, was not doing anything wrong when he was stopped, and agreed to talk to the deputies.

Looks like it’s going to be a great watch!
Remember the drama that took place right after Wayne was released from prison, and he punched Drake in the face? I think I know what caused the rift between them…
Sources are saying that when Wayne was locked up Drake started sleeping with Shanell, who is one of Wayne’s girls. (OUCH!!)
Now everyone knows that’s Wayne’s girl. [Lil Wayne] is not jealous over her or anything, but he thinks that was just disrespectful.
I’m thinking this drama if far from over!!
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin is set to undergo a medical procedure today that sparked a prayer vigil in her hometown Detroit.
Franklin was not at the vigil. but she released the following statement:
“Thanks to the Detroit City Council for their prayer vigil. And, many thanks to the City for their support.
All prayers are good!”
Last month, the 68-year-old singer announced she was canceling all concert dates and personal appearances through May on the orders of her doctors.
Franklin’s rep Tracey Jordan is keeping mum on what, exactly, the procedure will entail.
Lil Wayne just got out of jail and I’m hearing he may have knocked up a new chick! According to mediatakeout.com, one of Weezy’s girlfriends is claiming that she’s pregnant.
The woman attends college in New Orleans and was dating Weezy before he got locked up.

It looks like those rumors might be true, as Iverson has launched a store on eBay selling all sorts of personal memorabilia.

Iverson is currently playing in the Turkish Basketball League.
Jennifer Lopez is embroiled in a new sex tape scandal and has launched a legal battle to prevent the films being made public..
The singer has taken her ex-husband Ojai Noa and his agent Ed Meyer to court to stop their reported attempt to sell and market videos made during the couple's 11-month marriage in 1997.
In the videos she is seen flashing her private parts and displaying other 'deviant behavior', according to documents filed in the singer's legal fight to keep the tapes secret.
'This is among other nudity on her part in the now 21 hours of home movies that we have so far recovered', Meyer said in the papers, adding that Ojani is continually finding more and more home videos with Lopez that he didn't remember he had.
Although the tapes do not contain full sex scenes they could be of great embarrassment to the star who is married to Mark Anthony and has two children.
'It must also be stated that in Noa's Home Videos, Lopez gives her full consent to Noa taping her'.
But Lopez is not agreeing to these tapes being made public saying they are private and personal, claiming that Noa and filmmaker Meyer are violating an injunction which blocks the release of the videos.
This recent battle between Lopez and her ex-husband is the latest in a long history of legal wrangling - with Noa allegedly trying to cash in on his relationship with the Latin star.
Four years ago, Lopez sued Noa to prevent him from publishing a book containing details of their short-lived marriage.
In 2007, a court-appointed arbitrator issued a permanent injunction forbidding Noa from 'criticising, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging' the Jenny From The Block singer.
Lopez was awarded $545,000 in compensation and Noa was ordered to hand over all copies of materials related to his proposed book to Lopez's legal team.
In November 2009, Lopez again sued Noa for breach of contract and invasion of privacy, citing a previous confidentiality agreement between the two of them to prevent Noa from releasing his planned film, How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J-Lo and Ojani Noa Story and 'previously unseen home video footage'.
She only gave birth six weeks ago, but Alicia Keys is already showing off a svelte post-pregnancy figure.
The 29-year-old singer looked trim in a flattering black dress and matching black boots as she attended a special screening of new Javier Bardem film Biutiful, in New York last night.
Keys gave birth to her first child - a son Egypt Dean on October 14, by her husband Swizz Beatz.
'There is no word to properly describe LOVE, to describe BLISS, to express a FEELING like this!!! Thank U 4 your love, support & prayers! ;-)' she tweeted, two days after the birth.
Keys married the 32-year-old rap producer, real name Kaseem Dean, July 31, shortly after announcing they were expecting.
The nuptials were held in Corsica in front of close friends including Queen Latifah and U2 rocker Bono, and presided over by Deepak Chopra.
Last night she looked happy and relaxed with an unusually high hairstyle.

Another track co-written by Bruno - Cee Lo Green's 'F**k You' - was nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and Cee Lo said he never realised the track, which was edited to 'Forget You' for the radio, would be such a hit.
He said: "It wasn't meant to be a radio song. It was meant to be something with flair and first impression and it really took on a life of its own, and I had no idea it would become what it is today."
In the Best Newcomer category, Justin Bieber found himself nominated alongside his fellow Canadian, rapper Drake.
He told LL Cool J - who hosted the nominations show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles: "It feels amazing - I can't believe I'm in this position! I don't know what to say!"
Among the performers at the nominations show were Katy Perry - who opened proceedings with 'California Gurls' - Justin Bieber, rapper B.o.B and indie group Train.
The 53rd Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on 13 February 2011.
Now, we know this video doesn’t reveal much because Matt Kemp was not caught kissing this girl, but it’s his behavior that has us wondering.
The girl in the video clearly isn’t a stranger to Matt, but if they’re just friends, why won’t he acknowledge her when she calls his name?
And why, without saying a word or responding to her question, does he bolt in the other direction when she comes near him?
He wouldn’t have looked so suspicious if he just acted normal once he saw the cameras around!
Rihanna says women who criticise her for being sexy are "unhappy with themselves". The pop beauty - who is famous for her flesh-flashing stage outfits and revealing fashion choices - is proud of her body and insists girls who attack her online are "hypocrites".
She said: "People think I'm overly sexy. It bothers them for some reason. Girls don't like to see other girls dressed sexy . It's a little intimidating, I don't mean that in a cocky way. There's always going to be somebody not liking what you do. People have a lot of crazy opinions on things. Things I say, things I wear, places I go. It's just stupid. I'm a 22-year-old human being. It's fine for me to go to a club.
"People are hypocrites. They can't wait to say something horrible. Most of them are unhappy with themselves. It's women who are mad at other women. They should take a look at their own lives. A lot of people don't have the guts to confront themselves."
Although her online critics make her angry, Rihanna can accept that her overtly sexual image could annoy people.
But she is determined not to change her behaviour or style just to please anyone else.
She added in an interview with the United Kingdom edition of GQmagazine: "Public figures can become annoying. They see me a lot and every time they see me my boobs are out, so it can get a little irritating. I get that. But I have to do what makes me happy, what I feel like doing."
Tameka Foster and Kandi Burruss are fighting on Twitter.
Last night, Kandi and her mom appeared on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” aftershow with host Andy Cohen.
When asked about celebrity crushes, Kandi admitted that if she had to choose, she’d sleep with Usher because she heard he was good in bed. However, in reality, she said she wouldn’t go for it because they’re friends.
Her response seemed to have rubbed Usher’s ex-wife Tameka the wrong way.
When a fan informed Tameka of Kandi’s response via Twitter, Tameka said:
“Girl that doesn’t surprise me, there isn’t many left in town that she hasn’t so…… Go figure…”
Kandi didn’t appreciate Tameka implying that she sleeps around, so she responded:
“You on some real bull**** i see…. wow.”
Tameka, calling Kandi’s bluff, Tweeted:
“See I like real live convos.. So anyone that wants to talk to me can DIAL or come SEE ME. I don’t play cyber games..”
We got dibs on our girl Kandi.
Leslie Nielsen has died.
Surely, you can't be serious. Yes, the comedy great and "Airplane!" star passed away on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the age of 84 after being treated for pneumonia. And don't call me Shirley.
It was lines like the above, delivered in Nielsen's patented deadpan, that gave the dramatic stage and screen actor an unlikely comedic revival later in life.
After beginning his career in the 1950s as a matinee idol, taking on the roles of dashing heroes in films such as the sci-fi classic "Forbidden Planet" and the stalwart captain in 1972's "The Poseidon Adventure," the Canadian-born actor switched gears in 1980 and took a chance with a slapstick disaster-movie spoof that would forever change his life.
Nielsen was at first reluctant to take on the role of the clueless Dr. Alan Rumack, but the white-haired, hilariously dopey MD became the comedic find of a lifetime, as the actor managed to steal the show in a movie packed with dozens of classic one-liners thanks to his impeccable timing and serious delivery.
It was an unlikely, but ultimately lucrative left turn in a long career that spanned more than 100 movies and 1,500 television appearances.
Kanye West participated in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, travelling down the parade route in New York City on a float performing tracks from his recently released album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
When he passed by NBC’s cameras for the televised parade, everything seemed cool. Kanye performed “Lost In The World” in an…… interesting vest to a pleased crowd.
However things weren’t that smooth for all of the parade.
Amateur video recently surfaced showing Yeezy getting booed by parade attendees located far from NBC’s cameras.
Kelly Rowland is the latest celebrity to be hit with a tax lien by the IRS! The Detroit News is reporting the IRS filed a $98,634 lien against the ex-Destiny’s Child singer on Nov. 8 with the New York City Register.
Rowland, 29, rose to fame in the girl group, which broke through with the 1999 hit tune “Bills, Bills, Bills.” After the group broke up, she released a few solo albums and maintains an acting career that included portraying Motown legend (and ex-Detroit Councilwoman/tax delinquent) Martha Reeves in a 2003 episode of the TV show “American Dreams.”
If you're going to talk about John Travolta's secret sex life, you better do it behind closed doors because he's ready to sue sue sue!
John's camp has sent our friends over at Gawker a nasty 5-page letter threatening to use them over a post detailing his secret sex life.
In the letter, John's attorney, Marty Singer, calls out the site posting “false and outrageous” claims made by Robert Randolph, whose story Gawker ran in a post called “The Secret Sex Life of John Travolta.”
The author gives detailed accounts of running in John at a men's spa and seeing him in...um...very compromising positions.
"I walked in and the guy was giving John a blowjob and, like guys do, he pulled his head up when I walked in. Then they left the room," Randolph described in the post.
This Randolph guy has A LOT of detailed stories of times he ran into John at the spa. Would he just make all that up and risk getting sued?!

President Barack Obama needed 12 stitches in his upper lip after taking an errant elbow during a pickup basketball game Friday morning with family and friends visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday, the White House said.
First word of the injury came in a statement from press secretary Robert Gibbs nearly three hours after the incident.
The White House did not initially name the person who caused the injury, but identified him later Friday as Rey Decerega, director of programs for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
Obama received the stitches under local anesthesia in the doctor's office on the ground floor of the White House after returning home. Doctors used a smaller filament than typically used, which increases the number of stitches but makes a tighter stitch and leaves a smaller scar.
The president had gone to nearby Fort McNair to indulge in a game of basketball, one of his favorite athletic pursuits. It was a five-on-five contest involving family and friends. Among the players were Obama's nephew, Avery Robinson, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Reggie Love, Obama's personal assistant, who played at Duke University.
The White House said the injury happened during their fifth and final game when Decerega turned to take a shot and hit Obama, who was playing defense, in the mouth with his elbow.
Obama emerged from the building after about 90 minutes of play, wearing a short-sleeve T-shirt and gym pants, and was seen dabbing at his mouth with what appeared to be a wad of gauze. A few hours later, reporters who had gathered on the White House driveway for the arrival of the Christmas tree saw the president in an upstairs window, pressing an ice pack against his mouth before he stood and walked away.
"After being inadvertently hit with an opposing player's elbow in the lip while playing basketball with friends and family, the president received 12 stitches today administered by the White House Medical Unit," Gibbs said.
Decerega issued a statement through the White House late Friday. He did not immediately respond to an e-mail request from The Associated Press for independent comment.
"I learned today the president is both a tough competitor and a good sport," the statement said. "I enjoyed playing basketball with him this morning. I'm sure he'll be back out on the court again soon."
31-year-old accused of killing his mother with a sword in their Brooklyn, N.Y., apartment.
Former "Ugly Betty" actor Michael Brea has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of his 55-year-old mother, according to multiple reports.
The 31-year-old Brea stands accused of holding his mother hostage and then slaying her with a 3-foot-long sword. Citing police sources, the New York Daily News reports that Brea was convinced his mother was possessed by Satan and that he yelled such statements as "Sinner! Sinner!" and "You never accepted Jesus" as neighbors listened in horror early Tuesday morning.
Neighbors in his Prospect Heights apartment eventually called the police. "I hear the brother chasing her [his mother] through the house and he's just saying a bunch of [Bible] passages like 'Repent, Repent, Repent,' " neighbor Gregory Clare told New York's WPIX. "I heard him chasing her through the house and I hear a loud scream, and so I have my father call the cops, call 911."
Officers responding to the call reportedly encountered an extremely bloody scene and the butchered body of Brea's mother. Brea himself was said to be clutching a bible and a sword (initial reports claimed it was a samurai sword, but the Daily News now says it was a Masonic ceremonial sword). The actor was aggressive and had to be Tasered before being placed on a stretcher and brought to Kings County Hospital for psychological evaluation.
WPIX reports that neighbors described Brea and his mother as "quiet people," and that Brea showed no previous indication of mental illness. The actor has had roles on "Ugly Betty" and, most recently, in this summer's "Step Up 3D."

Reggae artist Turbulence will be heading to Australia in December, for the first time.
For one night only, the Reggae hit maker will perform in Perth Western Australia alongside DJ Wade and Jah Clarity.

Fantasia took the stand today to testify in her ex-boyfriend Antwaun Cook’s divorce proceedings and she admitted to getting pregnant by Antwaun and aborting the baby.
Fantasia Barrino has admitted she got pregnant by her married lover Antwaun Cook and had an abortion around the time of her failed suicide attempt, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
The American Idol winner made the sensational confession in a North Carolina court on Monday during Cook’s divorce proceeding with his ex-wife Paula.
Facing questions before a Mecklenburg County Court judge, the famous singer, 26, was pressed on whether she knew Cook was living with Paula when they embarked on their illicit affair.
The Idol season three winner has acknowledged she dated Cook “off and on for about 11 months” but said she believed he had separated from his wife.
The date has been announced! Prince William and the luckiest woman in the world, Kate Middleton will get married on Friday, April 29.
They have chosen the Westminster Abbey as their location for the big day.
At this point, they want the Royal wedding to be a media circus. Chances are there are gonna be thousands of people outside watching Will and Kate get married. I’ve already booked my tickets for the Royal wedding, I’m just waiting for the actual invite. Don’t worry, I’m not holding my breath.
These two are in a hurry to tie the knot! Well, Will did wait 8 years before he actually proposed so Kate’s all about locking it in at this point.
“Kate and William both view this process rather like tooth extraction,” said one royal insider. “They want to get back to a life of relative normality as soon as possible to ‘get it over with and get back to our quiet life’, which is sweet but unrealistic.”
Quiet life? That’s so cute! Kate actually thinks she’s gonna have a quiet life. The only way she will have that kind of life is if she never leaves one of the many castles that she’s gonna be able to live in. Other than that her quiet life is OVA!
Go ahead and say it - Jennifer Grey is having the time of her life.
Jennifer put the finishing touches on her nearly perfect run on "Dancing with the Stars," as the former "Dirty Dancing" beauty captured the mirrorball trophy as the Season 11 champ!
On her way to the title, Jennifer strung together an impressive run of perfect scores, garnering five consecutive perfect 30 out of 30s during the semifinal and final rounds on Monday and Tuesday night.
The streak was broken with a 29 out of 30 on her final dance - an "instant" cha cha cha - but it wasn't enough to keep the title out of her hands.
Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer were runners-up, and Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas finished in third place.
The victory also marked a special achievement for pro partner Derek Hough, who became the first "Dancing" pro to nab three mirrorball trophies (he previously won in Season 10 with Nicole Scherzinger and Season 7 with Brooke Burke).
"All we wanted to do for the final was go out there and do our best and just make sure we knew we did our best and that's really what it's about," Derek told Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson following Monday's show. Jennifer and Derek chose to take on their very first dance of the season together - the Viennese Waltz to "These Arms of Mine" - a song from her "Dirty Dancing" days with the late Patrick Swayze.
Porn actress Capri Anderson threatened Charlie Sheen with a television appearance full of lies if the top-rated television actor didn't pay for her silence, Sheen's lawyer alleged today, firing back at Anderson's claims that she feared for her life during last month's altercation at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
"They told us that if we did not write them a check that they were going to go on the air and they were going to lie about what occurred that night in the Plaza Hotel room," Sheen's attorney, Yale Galanter, told "Good Morning America" today.
Anderson and her attorney appeared on "Good Morning America" Monday to say that she would be filing a criminal complaint against the "Two and a Half Men" actor, alleging that Sheen abused her and threatened to kill her the night police responded to the posh hotel and found Sheen disoriented and reportedly naked while Anderson was hiding in the bathroom.
Sheen's camp responded later in the day with an extortion suit, claiming Anderson asked for $1 million to keep her story out of the media. It also alleged that Anderson stole a $165,000 watch from Sheen's hotel room.
"This girl has just changed her story. She has absolutely no credibility," Galanter said of Anderson's appearance Monday. "It's totally untrue. It's complete fabrication. It's just a complete pack of lies."
Anderson was scheduled to meet with a New York district attorney who is considering a second-degree harassment charge against Sheen. Although rarely enforced, a conviction could mean 15 days in jail.
Anderson's attorney, Keith Davidson, sent a statement to ABC News late Monday condemning Sheen's extortion suit and calling it "utter nonsense."
Anderson herself alleged extortion Monday, claiming Sheen sent her a text message the day after the incident, offering her $20,000 for her silence.
Galanter confirmed there were a series of text messages sent back and forth, but denied there was ever such an offer. Anderson, he said, was complaining about a damaged purse and Sheen offered to pay her whatever money she was out for the evening.
And while Anderson claimed she was paid simply for a dinner appearance with Sheen and his entourage -- including his ex-wife, Denise Richards -- Galanter countered that "she was hired to be the entertainment for the evening."
Both sides agreed Anderson was never paid to have sex with Sheen.
I am prepared and ready for action.
Preparing a recipe with multiple ingredients and steps requires planning and preparation. Baking an apple pie requires peeling and seasoning the apples, preparing the crust and preheating the oven. Pie-making goes more smoothly when I have all the things I need at my fingertips.
The same can be said about my life with Spirit. When I am prepared, aligned and at one with Spirit, I easily and effortlessly achieve my goals. I am less stressed and more peaceful. I prepare myself through prayer, meditation and by listening to inner guidance. Because I am ready, I easily step into right action. I know that all is well, because I have prepared for it.
Prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed.--1 Peter 1:13
Eva Longoria and Tony Parker's divorce looks like it's going to keep getting uglier. First, there were rumors of infidelity involving Parker, then Longoria appeared to blindside her soon-to-be-ex-husband by filing divorce papers in Los Angeles last Wednesday.
Then, Parker hit back by initiating his own surprise divorce proceedings in his native Texas. TMZ reported that the Friday (November 19) filing was a surprise to Longoria and her lawyers and that the "Desperate Housewives" star was "very upset" when she found out about it.
As for the reason for the divorce, Parker's petition reportedly states, "The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationships and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."
Citing unnamed sources, the gossip site reported that both sides wanted to enforce the prenup they signed before their lavish 2007 wedding. When Longoria's lawyer filed her divorce papers, the box that reserved her right to collect spousal support was checked, violating the terms of the prenup.
Fearing that Longoria's actions left open the chance that she would challenge the prenup, Parker's lawyers took preemptive action to protect his client in Texas by counter-filing. The move was made because it could be easier for Parker to enforce the prenup in Texas than in California. The site noted that Parker's divorce papers did not mention the prenup, but instead said that he believed Longoria "will enter into an agreement for the division of their estate."
After earlier denying that she and basketball player Parker, 28, were headed for divorce, Longoria, 35, filed papers on Wednesday citing "irreconcilable differences" and seeking spousal support from the San Antonio Spurs star.
TMZ reported that calm had been restored by Sunday and that there was no more drama over the dueling petitions, but as of press time there were still two divorce filings in two different states, so one of the stars is going to have to blink.
n his last magazine interview before going to jail Clifford T.I. Harris speaks candidly on his prescription drug addiction.
“I had a lot of work done to my teeth. Oral surgery, extractions, six, seven, eight root canals,” he tells Erik Parker for Vibe magazine. “Between January to February. As soon as I got out, I had a lot of stuff done. In the joint, you eat shit that is unhealthy for you. I had fillings that fell out and stuff that had to get dealt with. Of course for the pain they gave me oxycontin and hydrocodone.
And, mind you, on October 13, 2007, I had cut off everything―weed, alcohol. Then I get these pills and I start taking them for the pain at first. And then I’m like, Wait―this shit makes me feel good. And it’s legal.
After the pain went away, I kept taking it. I had like five, six prescriptions. So I had, like 80 pills.
Everybody else might have a drink or smoke a blunt, I took a pain pill. Times when I had 18-, 20-hour days, I’d take a pain pill. And eventually I developed―I guess―the beginning stages of dependence.”
Here we were thinking after Soulja Boy called Kat Stacks the “scum of the earth” that he hated her; we were sadly mistaken. Soulja Boy on KYSDC not only seems like he is coked up during the interview but said that he loves…I repeat LOVES, Kat Stacks!
He goes on to say that he doesn’t do coke, that he has never been to rehab and that he and Kat Stacks verbal scuffle over Twitter was nothing more than the typical break-up argument.
He wants to be called “Dre” in-fact he admits if you call him “Dre” he’ll like you.
All he’s missing is the “itch-less scratch”
According to Allhiphop.com the candidate for the most arrests by a rapper was tagged in the Maricopa County section of Phoenix on Thursday for a parole violation and jailed. This is the sixth arrest in Maricopa County alone for DMX.
According to several sources X was cited for possession of Cocaine, Oxycontin without a prescription and driving with a suspended license.
The troubled MC was working his way back into the public eye for something other than arrests. Just last week he performed in Scottsdale, Arizona where he proclaimed “F*ck the industry and f*ck Jay-Z.”
That statement alone must have made his producer Swizz Beatz very uncomfortable, who just released a song with X call “Ya’ll Don’t Know” but is a frequent collaborator with Hov.
Nicki Minaj waited for the perfect time to speak on Lil’ Kim…Album release time! During an interview with Angie Martinez in the Hot 97 VIP lounge head Barbie Nicki went in, finally commenting on her beef with “The Queen.”
Nicki’s recent single “Roman’s Revenge” sparked a world of controversy for its subliminal shots at Kim. ”Yeah, I said it has-been, hang it up–flat screen” was just one of the many references to the Queen Bee.
Lil’ Kim has picked at Nicki for some time, without response but that’s all over. Nicki Minaj truly went in on Lil’ Kim and I think she may have started the next big rap beef!
Nicki seemed like she was bursting to get all this out:
“[Kim] just really jumped out of the window and you got to be careful when you pick fights. That’s what I learned in this business. You just never know. I think people get me mistaken wiht like a real Barbie… they forget where I’m from. If i have to revert back I can, and I will. Don’t play with me. I respect you and love you.
I’ve said it in every interview, time and time again. And if that’s not good enough for you mama, then it’s something deep rooted in you. Something is bothering you inside….”
“She picked a fight with Foxy, she picked a fight with Eve, then she picked a fight with Remy…Everytime you’re in the news it’s cause you getting at somebody”
“Put your music out and when I see your name on Billboard that’s when I’ll respond to you. Other than that. Goodbye!”
“And that doesn’t take away from the respect I have for you. You know when a mom got to beat you and she says this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you.”
Nicki goes on to say she asked LIl’ Kim during a Lil’ Wayne tour if there was a problem, and Kim responded “no” and asked to take a picture with her.
Foxy asked “Why you keep on giving props to Kim? She don’t like you, she be dissin’ you…”
Nicki thinks it’s because of her new found success.
“When you become competition people go wait”!
“You’re going to go down in history as a sore loser!”
Bruno Mars' lawyer says a court appearance for the singer-songwriter to appear on a Las Vegas cocaine charge is being postponed.
Attorney David Chesnoff tells The Associated Press the 25-year-old "Just the Way You Are" singer won't have to appear in person Thursday in a Las Vegas courtroom.
Chesnoff says Mars will get a new court date.
Mars' real name is Peter Hernandez. He's accused of having 2.6 grams of cocaine when he was arrested after a Sept. 19 performance at a Las Vegas nightclub.
If convicted on the possession of a controlled substance charge he could face up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Mars' lawyers are Chesnoff and attorney Blair Berk of Los Angeles, where Mars has lived since 2002.
She may not be quite as famous as Lady Gaga and RIhanna, but Nicki Minaj is apparently hoping to change all that by mimicking their style.
The rapper caught plenty of attention as arrived for an appearance on the Wendy Williams talk show in New York today in a really outrageous outfit.
Her blonde, pink-dipped wig and pale pink lipstick emphasised looked like it was straight out of Lady Gaga's wig collection.
And her fluorescent pink tights, black lace bodysuit and pink bra seemed inspired by Rihanna's racy wardrobe.
Minaj, 26, accessorised with black and diamante ladder boots and multi-coloured square bangles to top off her look.
Surprisingly concerned about keeping out the cold in her skimpy outfit, Minaj wrapped a pink and blue scarf around her neck in case she got a bit chilly.
She stopped to pose for pictures with fans and signed autographs on her promotional tour for her debut album Pink Friday which is released this week.
But it's not just her outfit that has people talking.
She has been at the centre of rumours she has had buttocks implants to increase her substantial rear end.
The protege of rapper Lil Wayne has said she is not concerned by the speculation.
She said: 'People will pick anything to talk about, and that happens to be the thing at the moment. I love being a conversation piece'.
She has recently joined with Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am for the track Check It Out in which Cheryl Cole has a cameo role in the UK version.
Having won a slew of new artiste awards this year, Minaj has claimed that she doesn't want to be defined by her sexual image.
Erin Barry has been revealed as the woman at the centre of Desperate Housewives's star Eva Longoria's divorce. Access Hollywood reports that Longoria's husband Tony Parker, 28, sent the mother of two, hundreds of 'sex texts' . Mrs Barry, 37, is estranged from her husband former NBA basketball star Brent Barry, Parker's former San Antonio Spurs's teammate. Her father-in-law confirmed to TMZ that she filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years just last month.
The sportsmen, seen posing together with their wives in an undated photo, became friends when they played together for the Spurs from 2004 to 2008. And yesterday, Longoria, 35, filed for divorce in Los Angeles after telling friend and television presenter Mario Lopez, that she had discovered texts alleged to be from Barry, on her husband's phone.
Erin, 37, has been married to Brent Barry, now an NBA TV host, for 12 years. And according to Access Hollywood, divorce papers were filed on October 29.
Barry's father, NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry, told celebrity website TMZ: 'I feel horrible for my son. I'm in shock. I knew [Erin] was moving out of the house soon and she was the one that filed for divorce. This is the straw that broke the camel's back.'
Rick added: '[Brent] is going to be devastated. I can't even imagine him going through this ... the divorce was hard enough news.'
The couple married in San Francisco in 1998, and Erin has followed her husband from city to city as her husband played for six different teams before retiring last year.
Brent Barry played alongside Tony Parker for four years for the Spurs, during which time she got to know actress Eva.
The Barrys have two sons, Quin, nine, and Cade, four. Erin said in a 2006 interview that full-time mothers don't get the respect they deserve and need to stick together.
'Moms need to be more supportive of each other,' she told the San Antonio Woman.
'Being a mom is hard work, and it's taboo to admit that we're not perfect.'
As well as being a wife and mother, Barry has also worked as a special advocate for abused and neglected children.
She has said: 'It is very hard work. People ask me how I do it. I say, "How can I not do it?"'
But the reputation the WAG has carved out for herself as a devoted family woman and charity worker is being thrown into disrepute as the scandal unfolds. Access Hollywood reports that when they reached Mrs Barry over phone, she was 'audibly emotional' and declined to comment on the matter.
Tony Parker was tight-lipped when approached by reporters outside his team's locker rooms yesterday.
Singer Toni Braxton appeared at a luncheon benefiting lupus awareness and research that revealed that she too is battling the potentially deadly autoimmune disease.“Take a look, this is what lupus looks like,” Braxton said to a surprised audience as she accepted one of two Women in Achievement awards at the 8th Annual bag Ladies Luncheon reports eonline.com.

Red headed Ri Ri,granted Power 105.1 an exclusive interview where she discussed her embarrassing herpes rumor, Drake, and blog sites.
On hurting Drake’s feelings:
“I would definitely say, that was wrong, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. We just became friends and we left it at that. We get along really well. Drake has a youthful thing about him and he is very melodic with the way he writes and I felt I needed someone like that for “Whats My Name”
She also spoke about her herpes rumor:
“I have a scar on my lip and they turned it into an std rumor. To see that they turned it into that, really hurt.”
Foxy Brown appeared in court on November 16th and vowed to defend herself against a charge that she violated a court order by mooning her neighbor during a dispute in July.Foxy is accused of violating a 2007 protective order filed by her Bed-Stuy neighbor Arlene Raymond, with whom she has infamously feuded since 2007, when Foxy was accused of hitting Raymond in the face with her Blackberry.
Tensions between the two allegedly boiled over this summer when the two had an exchange of words, during which Foxy allegedly called Raymond a “dirty b***h” and then flashed her bare bottom at the woman.
According to the New York Daily News, prosecutors have not offered Foxy any type of plea deal in the case, but her lawyer, Salvatore Strazzullo, stated that he wasn’t interested in a plea deal for the rapper anyway.
“We want them to dismiss the case,” Strazzullo said. “It’s really a case of nonsense.”
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are finally tying the knot after keeping us waiting for years!
As Hollyscoop has previously reported, RadarOnline.com says the two are getting hitched next month!
Sources say Nicole and Joel will marry at her dad Lionel Richie’s Beverly Hills home in front of a star-studded guest list of 75.
"Christmas has always been about family and faith for Nicole and Joel, so there is not better time of the year for them to wed," an insider said.
Come on, you two! Didn’t you get the memo that Christmas is the worst time for a wedding because everyone else in the world is either traveling to see their family or on an extreme budget? Oh yeah, guess that doesn’t apply to celebrities…
Two people who will reportedly def be in attendance? Christina Aguilera and Samantha Ronson—let’s hope the latter isn’t allowed a guest, just in case you-know-who weasels her way into the event.
Richie’s BFF Masha Gordon is apparently the maid of honor, and Joels twin bro Benji will be the best man. The flower girl is apparently Harlow, their daughter. Adorbs!
As for a honeymoon? A source says, "Nicole and Joel will spend Christmas with their family after the wedding, before heading off on honeymoon.”

Rosie wrote one of her signature haikus to describe what she’s going through, which you can read here.
She explains that doctors found two lumps in her breasts last week, and they are currently being biopsied. She insists to her fans that the doctors say it’s "probably nothing."
But what’s scary is that her own mother died of breast cancer at age 39. Rosie herself had a lump removed at the age of 30 as well.
Take a look at Rosie’s piece—it’s pretty powerful.
We’re all keeping her in our thoughts…story developing…
Has Kate Middleton been living under a rock?
Apparently the new princess-in-training was “surprised” by Prince William’s proposal. The regal couple sat down with ITV News to discuss the engagement, which happened on a recent trip to Kenya.
"I didn't really expect it all," Middleton told Tom Bradby of ITV News in the U.K. "I thought that he had maybe sort of thought about it, but no, it was a total shock when it came – and I'm very excited."
Ok, she’s either really naïve or is just plain playing dumb. Did Kate just happen to miss the bazillions of articles about their looming engagement???
As for Willie, he said he’d been carrying that rock around with him for weeks—let’s hope he was traveling with security!
Prince William Proposed With Princess Diana's Enagagement Ring
"I'd been carrying around the ring with me ... for about three weeks before [proposing]," he says.
"I would not let it go. You hear a lot of horror stories about proposing and things go horribly wrong, but it went really, really well."
Are Eva Longoria and Tony Parker getting a divorce? Longoria's rep has released a statement saying the report is "100% false."
However, according to TMZ, Parker was the one who filed for divorce!
He reportedly filed papers yesterday in Texas.
The two have been married since July of 2007. There were reports earlier on E! that there may be trouble in paradise—Eva pulled out of the taping of Anderson Cooper's CNN Heroes of 2010 television special last minute over the weekend.
Her rep is not talking at this point.
This is such sad news. And we’re shocked, since just a few months ago, Tony had gushed about wanting kids. He said back in June, "We're thinking about it. Pretty soon. She's got one more year with Desperate Housewives, so we'll see what happens."
He also talked about what a “great mom” Eva would make. Longoria said back in 2008, "I can't wait,” when asked about children.
Eva seemed so in love with Tony too—even getting the number “9” tattooed on the back of her neck, his initials on a mystery spot, and her wedding date "VII VII MMVII" on her wrist.
But as you may recall, there were rumors a couple years back that Tony had been cheating on his wife.
But Eva brushed them off, and stood by her husband, cheering him on at games and sharing public dinners.
"They are perfectly happy, despite everything that's going on," a source told People at the time.
With its drugs scandals, break-ups, engagements and more wild parties than anyone – particularly those involved – can remember, the past decade has certainly been turbulent for Kate Moss.
Yet throughout the turmoil the supermodel has maintained her ‘tousled sexiness’ – and yesterday she was named the best-dressed woman of the past ten years.
In the first list of its kind compiled by Vogue, Miss Moss was judged to have had more influence than any other model or celebrity on the way other women dress.
In a supplement, the magazine has named 11 of the world's most sartorially stylish celebrities.
And it has given them each a title, representing glamour to urban style and raw individuality.
But is Miss Moss, 36, who has clearly emerged as the most important.
Vogue style director Alexandra Kotur said: 'At every moment Kate Moss has looked chic and cool.
Carey Mulligan beats Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley as she secures £2million role in The Great Gatsby remake
'We chose people who were thinking out of the box, women who look as if they’re wearing what they really wanted to wear.
‘The whole Vogue editorial team and fashion staff brainstormed to come up with the list.
"Our parameters were to highlight from the year, and the overarching theme that we observed was to recognise an emphasis on the individual."
Although the list did not rank the women in league table, Miss Moss clearly emerged as the most important dresser for the magazine’s editors.
Elsewhere Lady Gaga was named as most ‘visionary’ for her astonishing array of bizarre outfits, whilst First Lady Michelle Obama was named the most independent.
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – It was a scene befitting a Hollywood true crime drama: A prominent Beverly Hills publicist was gunned down in her Mercedes-Benz after attending a movie premiere, sending the luxury car careening into a light post near Sunset Boulevard.
Police said Ronni Chasen was shot in the chest several times and killed early Tuesday in an attack that stunned Hollywood, where she was a revered figure after promoting the Oscar-winning film "Driving Miss Daisy" and other major movies and stars over the years.
Police had no motive or suspects and said no threats had been reported against the 64-year-old Chasen.
The mystery deepened later in the day when police seized computers from her firm, Chasen and Co.
Fellow publicist Howard Bragman called the killing bizarre.
"She wasn't a shady character," he said. "It's a small community and she was one of the fixtures in it."
Calls and e-mails to representatives of Chasen and Co. were not immediately returned.
Witnesses said they heard gunshots in the serene Beverly Hills neighborhood and called 911 before going outside to help.
"I heard the 'Boom! Boom! Boom!' of gunshots, ran up to the window, and there was the back of the car," Nahid Schekarchian, who lives in an apartment above the crash site, told The Associated Press.
She said her daughter-in-law called 911 and her son and a neighbor ran down to the car and found Chasen, who was struggling to breathe and bleeding from her nose and chest.
The front passenger's window was shattered.
The killing took place after Chasen attended the premiere of the movie "Burlesque," which the trade publication Variety said she was promoting for Screen Gems to position the soundtrack for an Oscar nomination.
Chasen was struck down in the midst of her busiest time of year — Hollywood's award season, when the movie studios mount expensive campaigns to promote their better films for awards consideration using spin-specialists like Chasen.
She also was working with 20th Century Fox on a supporting actor Oscar campaign for Michael Douglas in "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps," according to Allen Berry, a publicist for the actor.
Whitney Houston was spotted leaving The Capital Grille restaurant in Atlanta with her ex Ray J last night. Ray J” was all smiles as he escorted his favorite cougar to her car, followed by Whitney whispering what I think was something naughty in his ear before taking off together.

Kim Kardashian made an interesting claim this week--she's married!
No, she's not married to Reggie, Miles, or any other athlete. She's married to her job.
Kim admits that while she certainly thought she would be married with kids at 30, being married to her job has opened a lot of different doors. Like doors to $3 million dollar mansions in Beverly Hills.
“I was nervous about turning 30. But so far it’s been very fulfilling and thrilling,” she told Access Hollywood. “I’m sure there are lots of interviews from when I was 25 and people said, ‘Where do you see yourself when you’re 30?’ And I would have said, ‘Married with babies.’"
She added, “I feel like I’ve gone through enough to where I do know myself, but I’m like married to my work right now. I’m such a workaholic. That role is completely fine for me. I’m not looking.”
She can pretend she's fine with it, but we can tell she wants a man pretty bad in her life. Who do you think she should be set up with?
A woman charged with smashing a wine glass into actor Leonardo DiCaprio's face at a Hollywood Hills party in 2005 pleaded no contest on Friday to assault with a deadly weapon.
Aretha Wilson, 40, is expected to be sentenced this month to two years in a California prison under a plea deal with the Los Angeles District Attorney. She will likely receive credit for the 330 days she has already served in jail.
Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Wilson in court on Friday, it was still unclear if she would get credit for home detention in Canada, where she was living before being extradited to the United States for trial.
Outside the courtroom, Wilson's defense attorney told reporters that he expected her to serve her time in prison then return to Canada. Her plea came as she was nearing her trial for the attack on the "Inception" star that injured his neck and ear.
What do you get for the girl who has everything? An iPad.
Country singer Miranda Lambert celebrated her 27th birthday at the CMA Awards in Nashville Wednesday night, taking home three awards. Before the show started, her fiance and fellow country singer, Blake Shelton, revealed to The Associated Press what he got her for her birthday.
"She's been after me wanting an iPad lately, or asking me if I've seen one," he said. "She's freaking rich, man. She can get whatever she wants. So, I just have to go buy things like right when they come out so she doesn't have a chance to get them yet."
The couple, who plan to wed in the spring, have been dating for five years.
"We're to the point in our relationship to where it's like, 'Hey, just tell me what you want. Well, give me an iPad.' I said, 'OK.'"
Shelton and Lambert are now the reigning male and female CMA vocalists of the year. In addition, Shelton won CMA musical event of the year for "Hillbilly Bone" with Trace Adkins, and Lambert won album and video of the year.
Kanye West has backed out of a scheduled performance on NBC's "Today" show after getting upset with how his interview with host Matt Lauer this week was handled.
West's record company confirmed the cancellation to "Today" on Friday after the rapper said on his Twitter account that he wouldn't perform. He was scheduled to appear Nov. 26, part of a promotion drive for his new disc, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," which is being released Nov. 22.
During the interview, which was taped Tuesday and aired Thursday, West appeared thrown when "Today" aired a video clip of an embarrassing moment - when he grabbed a microphone from Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and said Beyonce should have won an award instead of Swift.
West tweeted this week that he felt "set up" by the interview and that Lauer tried to force his answers. His cancellation notice was accompanied by mixed messages.
"Much love to Matt and the whole Today show," he said in a Twitter message. "I accept ya'll future apology in advance LOL!"
In the interview, West talked about former President George W. Bush's angry response to West saying after Hurricane Katrina that Bush "doesn't care about black people." "Today" played a clip of Bush speaking about it in his recent interview with Lauer. In seeking a reaction, Lauer noted that it was the most emotional Bush had become during three and a half hours of talking with him.
"Don't even listen," Lauer said. "I want you to look at his face."
That appeared to upset West, who looked away.
"I don't need you guys to show me the tape in order to prompt my emotion about what I'm going to say," he said.
Look out, Nick. Jessica is engaged now too.
Jessica Simpson representatives Lauren Auslander and Cindi Berger tell The Associated Press that the singer and sometime actress is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson.
The announcement comes less than two weeks after Jessica Simpson's former husband and "Newlyweds" co-star Nick Lachey announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.
The 30-year-old Simpson and 31-year-old Johnson - who played for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints - have been dating since May.
Simpson tells People magazine she'll be singing on a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and her fiance and his family will be joining her.
Simpson and Lachey split in 2005 after three years of marriage.
Add Janet Jackson’s name to the list of Jackson family members upset by Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the kids of their late brother, Michael.
Even though Janet has appeared on “Oprah” several times, she didn’t think the kids should have done it,” says an insider.
Jackson’s handlers did not respond to requests for comment. Her brother Randy Jackson recently voiced his displeasure in a more public fashion.
After meeting with her boyfriend’s Antwaun Cook’s wife Paula Cook for 14 hours, Fantasia may still be facing a lawsuit for “stealing” Cook’s husband.
Radaronline is reporting the American Idol winner met with her boyfriend’s scorned wife, Paula Cook, earlier this month in an attempt to keep the details of Barrino’s alleged affair with Antwaun Cook private and out of the Mecklenburg County courthouse.
A source close to the situation says the two women attempted to settle their dispute through private mediation but the ladies were unable to reach a settlement, propelling Cook to move forward with a civil lawsuit against the singer.
“Fantasia was prepared to pay Paula as much as $100,000 to settle during their mediation, but it fell through,” another source told RadarOnline.com.
“Paula plans on going all the way and is going to sue Fantasia for Alienation of Affection.”
Lenny Kravitz, Akon and 50 Cent will be featured on the upcoming posthumous album from Michael Jackson.
Epic Records and Jackson's estate released more details about the record simply called "MICHAEL" on Friday. The song "Hold My Hand" with Akon will be the first single and debut on Jackson's website on Monday.
Akon says the song was leaked two years ago before Jackson's death but it wasn't complete. Akon says now it's finished and he's proud to have worked with one of his idols.
"MICHAEL" will feature 10 songs and is due out Dec. 14. Some were recent recordings.
The song "Breaking News" debuted on Jackson's site this week. Some of his nephews say it's not Jackson's voice but a former producer and manager insist that it is.
The rapper Shyne is singing a new tune: After serving eight years in prison for a nightclub shooting, the former protege of Sean "Diddy" Combs has converted to Orthodox Judaism, come to Jerusalem, and is devoting his days to the study of Torah while plotting a musical comeback.
His arrival in the Holy Land caps an unorthodox journey that began in Flatbush, Brooklyn, where he grew up and was shot at the age of 15, passed through the high-flying hip-hop universe, and landed him in a maximum security state prison before he was eventually deported to Belize - where his father happens to be prime minister.
"Being in Israel is just the exclamation point," he said Thursday. "This is the ultimate place to be who you are."
During a two-hour conversation on a hotel balcony overlooking the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, Shyne said his connection to Judaism goes back to his childhood - when he was still known as Jamaal Michael Barrow.
His mother claims Ethiopian Jewish ancestry, but the man who now calls himself Moshe Levi Ben-David says his roots go even deeper and that even as a boy in the streets, he was oddly drawn to Judaism and identified with its biblical heroes.
"I grew up in a war, constantly battling and the only person I could relate to was King David. Of course I love Michael Jordan, I love Mike Tyson, I love the typical people that people love, Muhammad Ali, but I had more of a connection with King David," he said.
Shyne, 32, has swapped his hip-hop attire of oversized basketball jerseys and diamond studded teeth with the traditional black suit and white knee-high stockings favored by the Belz Hassidic sect. He wears a black skullcap over his shaven head, but in a reminder of his former life, he still wears stylish black Ray Ban sunglasses.
Kanye West took to Twitter last night to vent about an interview he did with Matt Lauer for the Today Show.
According to necolebitchie.com, Kanye appeared on the show to talk about how he empathizes with George Bush over his feelings when Kanye said he didn’t care about Black people. But according to Kanye , Matt had another agenda.
Here’s Kanye latest rant:
……Let me tell you how they did me at the Today show…
I went up there to express how I was empathetic to Bush because I labeled him a racist and years later I got labeled as a racist…. While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the “MTV” under me with audio!!!!!!! I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show and that’s a very nice way for me to put it! HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS. IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT.
I feel very alone very used very tortured very forced very misunderstood very hollow very very misused. I don’t trust anyone but myself! Everyone has an agenda. I don’t do press anymore. I can’t be everything to everybody anymore. I can’t be everybody’s hero and villain savior and sinner Christian and anti Christ!

When Kat Stacks was arrested this past Friday, there was a nearly audible sigh of relief in the hip-hop industry.
The controversial Venezuelan was arrested by officials in Nashville, TN under an immigration hold.
Vibe talked with authorities at the Nashville Criminal Justice Center who said that Kat has a 90% chance of being deported back to Venezuela this week.
“She didn’t get arrested for a state charge, so she must’ve missed an immigration court date in the past. Once that happens, they start looking for you, and once they got you… it’s a wrap,” Miss Pugh, a police assistant at Nashville’s CJC, told Vibe.
Kat is currently being held without bail at the Nashville Correctional Development Center For Females.
Marques Houston resorted to filing for a restraining order against Raz-B (Demario Thornton) which he was granted.

Ex-couple Nelly and Ashanti were spotted at a Charlotte Bobcats in North Carolina this weekend.

Could the two be back together again? Take a look and you tell us!
We don’t care what Trade Minister Stephen Cadiz wants to say. Tere is no other way to look at the statement of their Pm than plain out of order and highhanded.
The trade minister went on air in Trinidad and has blamed "persons with other agendas" in Jamaica for leading the effort to boycott products from Trinidad and Tobago following recent comments by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar suggesting that Port-of-Spain must benefit from any humanitarian aid to Caribbean islands devastated by Hurricane Tomas.
The comments, which Persad-Bissessar said had been taken out of context, have generated heated discussion across the region, including several Internet campaigns calling for the boycott of goods from Trinidad and Tobago.
"Now, Jamaica was not even affected by the storm, which will tell me that's a situation that is ongoing, this is not only about that statement (by the prime minister), it is not only about the issue of aid and storm and what have you, the statements coming out of Jamaica... these are issues that have been there for some time and I think certain persons, for whatever reasons, would have taken advantage of the statements that were made by our prime minister and to use it for their own benefit.
"So to say that they are going to boycott Trinidad goods, I really think that is a wrong reaction to the statement that was made. I don't support it of course," he added.
Come on now other countries have said the same thing, and he picks on Jamaica. It’s true though, Trinidad gives little but takes a lot. It’s time to balance the scale.
Can you imagine our PM didn’t say a word, he said he never heard the statement so he couldn’t give an opinion, my word, what utter cowardice!!

The trial of Jamaican born United States Evangelist Paul Lewis got underway in the Savanna-la-mar Circuit Court in Westmoreland on Monday.
Reverend Lewis was charged last year with sexually assaulting two minors.
Reverend Lewis, who was in the island on the invitation of a local pastor, is alleged to have carnally abused one and sexually assault the other at a hotel following a crusade in Westmoreland.
In court on Monday, a jury was empanelled following a few hitches and the trial got underway in the late afternoon.
Last week, additional charges of perverting the course of justice were laid against Pastor Lewis him after he was accused of paying off the two witnesses to change their testimonies.
He was again offered bail by the presiding Magistrate, but the Director of Public Prosecution argued that he should have been kept in custody.
However, Appeal Court judge Mr. Justice Dennis Morrison ruled that the prosecutors should have raised their objection to bail while the Magistrate was sitting on the bench.
He was eventually granted bail.
Pastor Lewis, who is the head of the Paul Lewis Ministries, was charged on June 17, 2009 following allegations that he had sex with one of the minors in a Westmoreland hotel and made advances towards the other.
Bow Wow must be going through it…I recently came across some disturbing tweets from the pint-sized rapper talking about death.
Bow Wow tweeted that he wished for death sometimes, because it’s the only way he can find peace and went off about the music industry and how he had to put his “real life” on hold.
Can we get Bow Wow some help ASAP??? This sounds like someone calling out for help.

Brandy In Upscale Magazine: “People Still Call Me Murderer”
Brandy Norwood covers the December 2010 issue of Upscale Magazine’s upcoming December issue.
Inside, she talks about how her shady baby daddy’s toned it down; why we won’t be seeing Sy’rai on “Brandy & Ray J” even if we hear her; why Twitter makes her cry; and why she goes so hard on “Dancing With The Stars.”
“People call me a murderer, they taunt me and send pictures of cars that are basically annihilated. Every report has stated that I was not at fault. People still don’t care.”
The good news is, Brandy is rising above it to concentrate on the new album.
Hip-hop producer Bangladesh says fans should expect an organic sound from the upcoming opus.
“Well because she’s been away so long. I guess people’s attention spans are short now, and she comes from an era where music was more organic and everybody had their own sound, people were doing different things and albums were selling.
So, we’re just trying to re-invent or recreate the sound and mesh the two together. What I do and what she does, I think will be up-to-date…there’s something about her tone and her vocal skills…that [people that] can really sing love her. I always wanted to work with her and she reached out to me so we’re going to make it happen.”
Now it's the socialite network - Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has joined Facebook, launching a series of official pages offering the website's 500 million users daily updates on her engagements, the royal household said yesterday.
The 84-year-old British monarch will be featured in videos, photos and news items on the site, which will be available today, alongside other members of the country's royal family, including Princes William and Harry.
Users will be able leave messages or comments for Buckingham Palace on the site and find details of royal events close to their homes.
However, because the pages will be corporate - and not a personal account - people won't be able to request to become friends with the queen.
A royal official said the queen had personally approved the plan, but acknowledged she has not actually used the site herself.
"The decision went right up to the queen," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to discuss the plan ahead of its official launch.
"If you are going to have an online presence in 2010, you just have to be on Facebook."
The Facebook page is the queen's latest social media venture - the royal family already have an account on the Flickr photography website, joined Twitter in 2009 and set up a video channel on YouTube in 2007.
Buckingham Palace set up its own website in 1997, which now allows people to apply for palace jobs online, track the royal family via Google Maps or read details in a section devoted to the queen's prized corgi dogs.
Her Facebook site will include Britain's court circular, the official daily record of the royal family's engagements. It lists all royal diary appointments from the previous day and was created by George III in 1803, reportedly after he became frustrated at inaccurate newspaper reports.
International reggae singer Buju Banton could be out of jail by next week.
This is after United States Federal District Judge James Mood denied a prosecution appeal regarding the musician's bail.
The prosecution had appealed against a previous ruling that approved the artiste's hiring of two security companies to ensure he stick to the conditions of his house arrest, as a condition for bail.
This clears the way for Buju, whose real name is Mark Myrie, to take up his bail bond.
The Jamaican reggae star has been behind bars since his arrest in December on federal drug trafficking charges.
A jury deadlocked in September, and another trial is scheduled for February.
"We are hopeful he will be able to sleep in his own bed by the end of next week," David Oscar Markus, Buju's lawyer said.
"The next step is posting the bond. Then we will address the immigration issues," he added.
Immigration authorities have placed a detainer on the singer, so if he is released from jail in the criminal case, an immigration judge will then determine whether to release him.
Last week, US Magistrate Anthony Porcelli ruled that Buju, 37, could be released under stringent conditions.
However, he stayed his ruling to allow the prosecution to appeal to U.S. District Judge James Moody.
Moody denied the appeal without comment.
Under the terms of Buju's bond, he must post US$300,000 worth of equity in the South Florida home of his friend reggae star Stephen Marley, son of icon Bob Marley.
Buju must also hire a private security detail to guard him so he does not flee.
Buju was required to sign an extradition waiver, ensuring his return if he flees the country, and will have to wear an electronic monitoring device.
Buju is charged with conspiracy to possess five kilograms, or 11 pounds of cocaine, with intent to distribute.
His first trial ended in a mistrial in September.
The editor of a tabloid in Uganda who argues that homosexuality is more dangerous than smoking, has published a list of 10 gay and lesbian people in the African nation, urging readers to report them to the police.
It's the second time that Rolling Stone -- no relation to the iconic U.S. music magazine -- has published such a list.
Last time it listed 100 of what it called the country's top gays and lesbians, with photos and addresses alongside a yellow banner reading "hang them."
Gay rights groups in Uganda say at least four people have been attacked since then.
And a bill that would make homosexuality potentially punishable by death is working its way through Uganda's parliament.
The new gay list includes addresses and alleged intimate details about the anatomy of people on it.
Editor Giles Muhame, 22, has discouraged readers to physically attack people on the list, but he claims gay people are going to schools and "recruiting" schoolchildren.
He says the bill imposing harsh penalties for homosexuality will become law when Uganda begins drilling oil and becomes less dependent on foreign donors.
The Ugandan lawmaker behind the bill says told CNN last week it will become law "soon."
Mario’s mother has dropped all assault charges against her son.
The singer was charged last month with one count of second-degree assault for allegedly shoving his mother into a wall at their Baltimore home. He was later released after he posted a $50,000 bond.
However, Mario’s mother, Shawntia Hardaway, changed her story on the witness stand Tuesday.
Hardaway said she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she called police on Oct. 1 and that her son never laid a hand on her.
Mario’s attorney, Billy Murphy, says it was clear from the beginning that his client never struck his mother and that Mario “remains committed to helping his mother battle her addiction.”
Hardaway has battled alcohol and heroin addiction.
“It was clear from the beginning that Mario never touched or struck his mother,” Murphy added. “She was under the influence of drugs when she gave her statement to police. To her credit, she corrected her statement in court today.”
Gucci Mane caught a break today after Fulton County, GA authorities dropped several charges against the rapper after he was arrested yesterday on multiple traffic violations.
From Access Atlanta:
It was announced during a first appearance court hearing Wednesday morning the case was being dropped “for want of prosecution.” The judge told the performer, whose real name is Radric Davis, that the charges could be refiled.
Davis was jailed Tuesday, and held overnight, on charges of damage to government property, obstruction, driving without a license, reckless driving, running a red light or stop sign, failure to maintain a lane and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Willie D, a rap icon from The Geto Boys, has been sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison after he was convicted on wire fraud charges stemming from the false sale of Apple iPhones.
Willie D, real name William Dennis, was caught in a sting operation in May 2009 after fronting a company called Texas One Wireless and selling purported iPhones, but never sending the product to customers, according to an FBI report.
United States Attorney José Angel Moreno and FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard C. Powers made the announcement late afternoon on November 2.
Willie D was sentenced at a hearing before United States District Court Judge Gray Miller who committeed the rapper to 12 months and one day in federal prison.
In court, Willie D admitted to acting as an electronics salesman via eBay.
Willie D was ordered to pay $194,087.17 in restitution, the amount that 35 people were scammed between September of 2008 and April 2009.
Willow Smith is already setting records with her hit single “Whip My Hair.”
At just 10-years-old, the budding pop star has sold 137,000 copies of her debut single in it’s first week of release making her the youngest artiste in history to do so.
The track placed right outside the top 10 at #11 on the Hot 100, but is expected to move into a higher position next week.
Lil Wayne will have to wait an additional day before he returns home, a Rikers Island corrections officer told MTV News on Thursday morning (November 4). The superstar rapper was expected to be released around 1 a.m. but apparently needs to ride out one more day before he is a free man.
"His time was miscalculated. He owed, he owes one day of 'good time,' so it's gonna be another night," Officer Caraballo said Thursday as MTV News awaited the New Orleans lyricist's release outside the rapper's jail. Caraballo added that "good time" is reduced when an inmate runs into trouble behind bars. "If you get an infraction in jail, they'll take away 'good time' — time that you accumulated for good behavior."
Although the officer did not confirm what may have caused the delay of Weezy's release, it is possible that a May incident in which the MC was caught with headphones and an MP3 player, which is a violation of prison rules, may have come into play. However, a spokesperson for the New York City Department of Correction told MTV News on October 5 that the MP3 player flap would not land Weezy additional jail time.
Caraballo said Wayne would be released "probably tomorrow" (Friday, November 5). A spokesperson for Rikers Island Correctional Facility, Officer Daniels, confirmed to MTV News that Weezy remains in prison but was unable to comment on when the rapper may be released.
Embattled Jamaican born American evangelist, Paul Lewis, is breathing a sigh of relief as only hours after being taken back into custody, a High Court judge on Wednesday afternoon dismissed an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to keep in him custody.
Appeal Court judge, Justice Dennis Morrison, ruled that prosecutors had failed to file a timely objection to bail offered to the preacher, when he was slapped with a charge of perverting the course of justice, last week.
The DPP had applied to the judge to revoke the preacher's bail, claiming he violated the conditions of his bail.
Reverend Lewis was charged, last year, with sexually assaulting an underage girl, however additional charges of perverting the course of justice were laid against him last week, after he was accused of paying off two witnesses to change their testimonies.
He was offered fresh bail by the presiding magistrate, but the DPP argued that he should have been remanded in custody. But Justice Morrison ruled that the prosecutors should have raised their objection to bail while the magistrate was sitting on the bench.
The attorneys for Reverend Lewis had argued that the prosecutors raised their objections only after the judge had offered bail and adjourned court for the day.
Wednesday’s ruling means that the preacher can take up his bail until his trial.
Pastor Lewis, who is the head of the Paul Lewis Ministries, was charged on June 17, last year, following allegations that he had sex with a minor at a hotel in Westmoreland and made advances towards another. He's scheduled to return to the Westmoreland Circuit Court on
Monday, when the trial resumes.
She's known for her outrageous outfits and her ability to constantly surprise fans with her utterly unique sense of style.
But Lady Gaga took her desire to always be fashionable to the extreme yesterday when she arrived at a bikram yoga class wearing a pair of towering black platform boots and sunglasses.
And the heels were so high that the 24-year-old singer had to be helped into the Sohot yoga centre by a gallant minder.
Bikram yoga involves devotees subjecting themselves to extraordinarily high temperatures in order to push their bodies as far as possible.
Gaga is a huge fan of bikram yoga, along with fellow celebrities such as Madonna and Cameron Diaz, and is often seen fitting in a quick session before going on stage.
And the regular yoga session are just one of the ways Gaga stays in shape.
According to her choreographer, Gaga sticks to a strict diet to maintain her slimline figure.
LaurieAnn Gibson told People.com recently: 'It's all about salsa with grain chips, tofu, turkey slices, hummus and coconut water.'
But in a tour rider released by the official X Factor magazine X, Gaga is also said to be partial to roast chicken, chocolate-covered almonds as well as 'non-smelly, non-sweaty cheese'.
After her yoga session, Gaga returned to her hotel before getting changed into an unusual white dress, reminiscent of a nurse's uniform, and her favourite black boots to head over to Abbey Road Studios for a recording session.
Rapper Gucci Mane has been arrested for myriad traffic infractions and had to be restrained with pepper spray, according to published reports.
Gucci, real name Radric Davis, is charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, running a red light or stop sign, damage to government property, obstruction, no license, no proof of insurance and other traffic charges, Atlanta Police spokesman Curtis Davenport told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Furthermore, the report says Gucci had to be subdued by police with pepper spray.
The rapper was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for a medical check up. From there, he is expected to be moved to Fulton County Jail.
Gucci Mane was just released from Fulton County jail in May for violating parole.
California voters declined to make their trendsetting state the nation's first to legalize marijuana use and sales, heeding warnings of legal chaos and that pot smokers would get behind the wheel and show up to work while high.
The legalization effort was losing by nine percentage points with more than two-thirds of precincts reporting. Backers showed support for the measure by gathering outside the campaign's headquarters to watch returns come in — some of them lighting up joints to mark the occasion.
Supporters of Proposition 19 blamed Tuesday's outcome on the conservative leanings of older voters who participate in midterm elections. They also acknowledged that young voters had not turned out in sufficient numbers to secure victory, but said they were ready to try again in two years.
"It's still a historic moment in this very long struggle to end decades of failed marijuana prohibition," said Stephen Gutwillig, California director for the Drug Policy Project. "Unquestionably, because of Proposition 19, marijuana legalization initiatives will be on the ballot in a number of states in 2012, and California is in the mix."
Tim Rosales, who managed the No on 19 campaign, scoffed at that attitude from the losing side.
"If they think they are going to be back in two years, they must be smoking something," he said. "This is a state that just bucked the national trend and went pretty hard on the Democratic side, but yet in the same vote opposed Prop 19. I think that says volumes as far as where California voters are on this issue."
The campaign pitted the state's political and law enforcement establishment against determined activists. Images of marijuana leaves and smashed-up cars and school buses appeared in dueling ads during the campaign.
In a sign of what a tough sell it was, an exit poll conducted for The Associated Press showed opposition cutting across gender and racial lines, as well as income and education levels.
The ballot measure lost in the state's vaunted marijuana-growing region known as the "Emerald Triangle" of Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity counties. Many in the region feared the system they have created would be taken over by corporations or lose its purpose.
Proponents pitched it as a sensible, though unprecedented, experiment that would provide tax revenue for the cash-strapped state, dent the drug-related violence in Mexico by causing pot prices to plummet, and reduce marijuana arrests that they say disproportionately target minority youth.
In the weeks leading to the election, federal officials said they planned to continue enforcing laws making marijuana possession and sales illegal and were considering suing to overturn the California initiative if voters approved it.
"Today, Californians recognized that legalizing marijuana will not make our citizens healthier, solve California's budget crisis, or reduce drug related violence in Mexico," White House Drug Policy Director Gil Kerlikowske said.
Voters in three other states cast ballots on medical marijuana-related measures.
In South Dakota, voters rejected for the second time a measure to legalize marijuana for medical use — a step taken by California in 1996 and 13 other states since. Oregon voters refused to expand their state's medical marijuana program to create a network of state-licensed nonprofit dispensaries where patients could have purchased the drug.
A medical marijuana measure on Arizona's ballot was too close to call early Wednesday.
California's marijuana proposal would have allowed adults 21 and over to possess up to an ounce of pot, consume it in nonpublic places as long as no children were present, and grow it in small private plots.
It also would have authorized local governments to permit commercial pot cultivation, as well as the sale and use of marijuana at licensed establishments.
The news that Demi Lovato is getting treatment for “emotional and physical issues” has shocked all of her fans. But new information has come out regarding why she decided to finally get help.
Sources tell Us Magazine that Demi has been dealing with numerous issues like cutting herself and an eating disorder, and wanted to seek help before the problem got any bigger.
"She needed help before a smaller problem got worse," an insider said. "She is doing OK."
Several sources say a recent physical altercation with a female member of her tour finally drove Lovato to the edge.
No word on the specifics of the fight, but Demi has talked about bullying in the past. She via her Myspace page back in 2008, "Sometimes [bullying] doesn't just end in high school. "Sometimes I get online and read blogs (which I probably shouldn't if I can't handle it) and read the horrible things that people say in comments ... and it can really take a toll on you."
Sources say her breakup from Joe Jonas also fueled a pre-existing eating disorder, and may have catapulted her cutting.
"She has been forced into showbiz from a young age and that puts tremendous pressure on someone,” said an insider. “Everyone is really happy she is getting help."
It’s great that she is accepting help at the age of 18. That’s a hard age to actually realize you do have a problem—just look at Miss Denial herself Lindsay Lohan.
Lil Wayne is set to be released from prison, and is to record new raps on the plane home.
The 'I Am Not A Human Being' rapper is expected to be released from a jail term in New York for firearms offences on Thursday (04.11.10), and the team at his label Cash Money records are reportedly looking for a plane with studio equipment so he can lay down new rhymes as he flies, likely to either his native New Orleans or Miami.
Bryan Williams, a.k.a. Birdman, co-founder of Cash Money, said: 'You can't keep him out of the studio.'
He added that Wayne - who famously freestyles his raps in the studio without writing anything down - has taken to recording his lyrics for the first time since starring in one of his earliest groups while in jail.
Bryan added: 'He hasn't written out rhymes since the Hot Boys. There's a different swagger coming from Wayne, different things to talk about.'
Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant, added: 'He's had time to take everything in from the early years to his going in. We've been at such a fast pace, moving, moving, moving, that he's finally been able to put some things in perspective.'
Wayne has had plenty of time to reflect in the latter part of his sentence, which he started in March, after he was moved to a solitary confinement cell earlier this month after he was caught with a contraband MP3 player and charger in his cell.
Meanwhile fellow rapper Eminem has said he's looking forward to Lil Wayne's release.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand apparently didn't have sex on their honeymoon! But it wasn't because they didn't want to!
Poor Katy reportedly got bitten by a spider while in the Maldives, and was forced into taking medicine to combat the nasty rash.
But that's not what stopped them--Perry's sheer exhaustion from the medication did! According to Grazia magazine, Katy felt "too exhausted" to perform for her new hubby.
Pretty ironic for a girl who recently claimed she was a "10 out of 10" in bed!!
To make matters even worse, Katy and Russell hadn't had sex for an entire month leading up to the wedding because they wanted their first time as husband and wife to be special.
Russell had even made a joke saying that he was going to be “taking Katy through Karma Sutra” during the honeymoon.
So much for that! Guess they'll have to have makeup sex when they return home!
Rapper T.I.'s wife has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of ecstasy possession.
Los Angeles County District Attorney's spokeswoman Jane Robison says Tameka "Tiny" Cottle entered the plea through her attorney on Monday.
She was arrested Sept. 1 along with her husband during a traffic stop on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip.
The 35-year-old is not required to appear in person on the case. It will be called for a pretrial hearing on Jan. 6.
Cottle's attorney, Blair Berk, declined to comment.
Prosecutors declined to charge T.I., citing a federal judge's decision to send him to prison for 11 months for violating his probation on weapons charges and because only four ecstasy pills were found on him.
Ricky welcomed cameras to his home for a candid portrait of his happy family home life for his interview with Oprah, in which he talks about his sons and his sexuality for the first time.
He tells Oprah in the show which will air tomorrow on the day he sent out an e-mail announcing, “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man,” Martin says he first felt “numb” and then “relieved.”
Then, he said, the magnitude of what he’d done hit him.
“When I realized, okay, I just pressed send, whoo … I was alone,” Martin, 38, says. “I was in my studio alone for a minute. My assistant walked in and I just started crying like a little baby. I started crying.”
The singer had previously refused to comment on speculation that he was gay, saying: ‘I don’t think I should say whether I’m gay or not, or who I’ve slept with or not.’
Charlie Sheen was naked and high on drugs while yelling the n-word during his meltdown with pornstar, Capri Anderson in New York City, for no apparent reason according to Radar Online.
“He was punching the walls of the hotel room and going crazy and shouting ‘n**ger, n**ger, n**ger for no reason at all,” the source told RadarOnline.com. “It was absolutely bizarre. At this point the porn star he was with locked herself in the bathroom.
T.I.’s wife Tameka Cottle aka “Tiny” was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance. While T.I.’s drug case was dropped by L.A. County District Attorney earlier this week, Tiny wasn’t so lucky.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Tiny will be arraigned on Monday in Los Angeles for misdemeanor drug possession — the same day her husband, rapper T.I., 30, is due to turn himself in to start serving an 11-month sentence at an Arkansas prison.
Police arrested the Atlanta-based newlyweds on suspicion of drug possession but only Cottle was charged. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday it would not prosecute Clifford Harris Jr., the rapper’s birth name, despite finding four ecstasy tablets on him.
Nicki Minaj visited 106 & Park to chat with Terrence and Rocsi about her album Pink Friday where she spilled the beans about wanting to kiss Lil’ Wayne.
When asked about Lil’ Wayne being released from jail, she said she hopes he lets her kiss him for the “first time.” The audience, Terrence and Rocsi all looked confused.

What’s even more embarassing?
It was all caught on video.

Akon will perform on the tour’s other stops which include Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.
Ray-J has a new album coming out entitled Raydiation 2(R2) and he spoke with us at TheUrbanDaily.com for an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW about it, Kat Stacks, Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Kim, Raz-B, Chris Stokes,Marques Houston, groupies, his new girlfriend, Brandy and reality T.V.Ray-J went from “Brandy’s brother” to being the beacon carrying on the Norwood legacy.
While Brandy took a hiatus to focus on her beautiful daughter, Ray-J took to the limelight with reality shows stemmed from his found super-stardom over a sex tape with ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian. He and Kim didn’t last but Ray was determined to have longevity in the game and hasn’t stopped grinding since he entered it over ten years ago. The name of the album is “Raydiation 2” a grown man version of his third album Raydiation. Raydiation featured the hit single “One Wish” and R2 features the current single “Last Wish” which is the final chapter in his longing aspiration for a complete love.
He claims that he has grown a lot and the album is reminiscent of a mature Ray-J; one that has been through and felt more heart ache. Rodney Jerkins returns to the studio with him, so you are guaranteed to hear some hot ish.
Ray is done with the groupies, the hollywood hungered women, and his reckless behavior.
What is something extremely personal you are going through that’s on the album?
“I’m dealing with trust issues, trying to keep a solid relationship with a girl I like, and balance it out with my career, the industry and temptation. My first single is just wishing for that truth and that love that you have for this girl”
Ray-J is in a relationship right now then?
“Fo’ Sho, I feel good about it. I’m much more responsible I’m in a better place in my life. It has nothing to do with the television show, Miss Berry, or For The Love Of Ray-J.”
How is she so different from the other women you have dated?
“She’s a regular girl she goes to college she has her head on straight, and she’s just focused she’s not into the limelight Hollywood scene and that alone is attractive to me.”
How do you stay away from the groupies like Kat Stacks?
“I’m tryna stay wayyy away from her. It comes from experience, I’m at a point in my life where I feel like I’ve done that. At some point you can’t drown yourself in that, you have to grow. If I ran into a chick like Kat Stacks I would know what it was.”
Why would anyone mess with Kat Stacks?
“They’re just high, intoxicated, you’re not in you’re right mind. When you come back to the world mentally you realize that you didn’t make the right decision”

The new Bail Act has apparently stung renowned televangelist Dr. Paul Lewis, as he was remanded on Wednesday evening; mere hours after he was granted bail in the Savanna-la-Mar Resident Magistrate’s Court in Westmoreland, Jamaica.
This reversal occurred after the prosecution - represented by deputy director of public prosecution (DPP) Dirk Harrison - made an out-of-court appeal that caught the Lewis’ defense team off guard.
Defense attorney Keith Bishop had originally secured bail in the sum of $300,000 before Resident Magistrate Collymore Gordon on the new charges of perversion of the course of justice.
Section 3A of the new Bail Act states that: “where the prosecution intends to appeal the decision to grant bail to a defendant, the prosecution at the conclusion of the proceedings in which the decision was communicated and before the release from the custody of the defendant, give oral notice to the Court of that intention”.
Under the new Bail Act, the Office of the DPP is allowed to make such a request. He also said that the relevant documents had been filed in the Court of Appeal.
New charges were levelled against Dr. Lewis on Wednesday in light of allegations that the pastor paid and arranged to have Nadine Fray – a colleague – coach the girls on what to say in court.
The only way we would even consider this to be a good idea would be if Michael Jackson himself were starring in the film, and we all know that the chances of that happening are… well… It ain’t happening.
We’d rather see the long-overdue-and-still-not-in-the-works DVD release of the Making Of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” home video.
Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music-video-slash-short film changed the game upon its release in 1983.
27 years after its release, talks are underway that may turn the 14 minute music video into a full length feature film.
According to Deadline.com, the film idea is being shopped around to a few interested parties.
I’m told that GK Films is in active negotiations to acquire a package for a film that is being fashioned around his groundbreaking hit song Thriller.
The film, which has been quietly shopped over the past several weeks by Real Effects Entertainment, has Kenny Ortega attached to direct, and The Hangover scribe Jeremy Garelick to write the screenplay. While GK is in the driver’s seat, I’m told that Fox 2000, Mandate/Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are all in the mix on what will shape up as a pricey rights deal, but which will turn out to be a film budgeted at under $50 million.
Plot is being kept under wraps but I understand it has to do with the song’s folklore, involving Vincent Price and the town he grew up in.
All of this deal making is subject to a deal being completed with Jackson’s estate, but that has been in the works for some time and is expected to be sealed. Thriller songwriter Rod Temperton is also in the mix.
Young Buck is breathing a sigh of relief after the IRS canceled an auction of his possessions that were seized during a raid on his home earlier this year.
Thousands of dollars worth of recording equipment, jewelry, clothing, and other items were to go on the auction block on Thursday.
Buck’s attorney filed suit earlier this week in an attempt to stop the auction stating that Buck would sell real estate worth over $638,000 to pay his debt.
After Beyonce and Hov’s latest pregnancy rumor, Jay decided to put an end to the 5th rumor himself. He released this statement.Jay-Z and Beyonce:
“It’s not going to happen. I’m just shooting down the rumors before they start. They do that every slow news day.
This is like the fifth time. I think we have five kids now,” he said. No truth, but I wonder when people will stop giving it relevance? You can’t do the same subject. At least change the subject, they have to find a new one.”
ATLANTA — Federal authorities have ordered rapper T.I. to report directly to a federal prison in Arkansas by Nov. 1 to start serving his 11-month prison sentence.
U.S. Marshal Beverly Harvard on Tuesday ordered T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., to report to the Forrest City low-security prison where he served parts of an earlier 10-month stint on federal weapons charges.
A federal judge in Atlanta sentenced the rapper this month to serve another 11 months in prison for breaking his federal probation after he was arrested Sept. 1 in Los Angeles on drug charges.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles said Monday they will not file a felony drug charge against the rapper.
Janet Jackson appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” to deny recent rumors that she is engaged.
Though her intention was to promote the upcoming Tyler Perry drama “For Colored Girls,” the candid interview with Robin Roberts soon took a turn to her love life.
During the interview, Janet explained how she learned of “For Colored Girls” by visiting her brother Michael when he appeared in The Wiz on Broadway, and how she played such a passionate role in the film.
Of her boyfriend Wissam Al Mana, she said, “He’s a very private man, so I don’t talk about our relationship.
The drug case against T.I. that has sent him back to federal prison has been dropped by the L.A. County District Attorney.
The rap star was recently sentenced to 11 months in federal prison, after police stopped him for making an illegal U-turn on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles on September 1st.
When police approached the car, they allegedly smelled marijuana. A search of the occupants of the car found the rapper and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle in possession of the drug ecstasy.
Police never booked any of the marijuana they allegedly smelled into evidence and LAPD officers allegedly pulled the rapper out of his $250,000 Maybach before they asked for any registration or identification.
The D.A.’s office said that since the rapper was sentenced to federal prison for violating his probation, there was no need for the state to pursue the charges.
Although Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are still playing coy about her growing belly, the couple are reportedly having a baby boy, HollyBaby reports.
"She's having a boy, but the reason that Mariah didn't want to say anything is because she is 40, and she's superstitious," the source said. "But she's going to appear on 'Oprah' and 'The View,' so she's planning on making the announcement soon."
While the couple, who wed in 2008, has yet to confirm the news, sources close to the singer tell PopEater the 40-year-old diva is indeed pregnant.
In June, Carey abruptly dropped out of Tyler Perry's new film, setting off speculation that the singer was expecting. Her rep quickly squashed the reports at the time.
Cannon has been the most vocal about the rumors, hinting that the couple's first child is on the way.
"I've said it before and I'll say it time and time again -- when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her," Cannon said on his radio show in August. "There's a certain time limit that you're supposed to wait before you actually can officially say that you are."
The pair have not been shy when it comes to talking about babies. According to PEOPLE, Canon has been vocal about wanting to start a family. "We're going to do it," he said in March 2009.
We anxiously await the final word from Mariah!
Christina Milian wrote an e-mail to her ex-husband The-Dream’s mistress.
The mistress, named Melissa Santiago, used to be Christina’s friend, but began a relationship with The-Dream while he was still married.
In the e-mails back and forth, Milian mentions that Santiago’s actions we’re inappropriate and that she and Dream were still working on their broken marriage.

Janet Jackson is engaged to her billionaire boyfriend, Iranian businessman Wissam Al Mana, according to In Touch Weekly.
The couple has only been dating since last spring and sources are reporting that not too long ago, in “mid-October”, Wissam got down on one knee and proposed to Janet with a 15-carat diamond ring.
The pair is attempting to keep the engagement a secret, though not too long ago, Janet revealed to Access Hollywood that she was more than ready to be married again and maybe even start a family!

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade told a Chicago judge Monday he would be prepared to give up his “partying” lifestyle if he was awarded sole custody of his two sons.
Testifying for a second day in a custody battle with his estranged wife Siohvaughn Wade, the NBA All-Star said his oldest son, who is eight, had been “alienated” from him.
Dwyane Wade said that, if he got sole custody of the two children — the younger son is three years old — he would allow Siohvaughn to have a role in the boys’ lives, but only if she got help with her anger.
During his first day of testimony on Friday, Wade said he was the victim of domestic violence at the hands of his ex-wife and denied allegations he used drugs, owned guns, or had ever had a sexually transmitted disease.
Tyler Perry appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show today and cried after sharing the details of his horrific childhood and abusive father.
In addition to being beaten by his father (once, so badly that he blacked out for three days), Tyler Perry was also sexually abused by four different adults when he was a child.
Perry details his traumatic childhood, saying, “[It was] a living hell,” adding, “I feel like I died as a child.”
He spoke about using his imagination to escape the pain:
“I could go to this park [in my mind] that my mother and my aunt had taken me to. … I’m there in this park running and playing, and it was such a good day. So, every time somebody was doing something to me that was horrible, that was awful, I could go to this park in my mind until it was over.”
He wept when Oprah asked him what he would say to the little boy left behind? “I would say, ‘It’s going to be all right.”
Perry wasn’t the only who cried today, he brought tears to Oprah’s eyes by thanking her for all she’s done for viewers for 25 years.
Jennifer Lopez's 2 1/2-year-old twins, Max and Emme, make their modeling debut as the faces of Gucci's new children's line — and UsMagazine.com has your first peek.
They appear in the ads along with mom.
"It's the first time I have worked with my kids in that way," Lopez, 40, tells the new Us Weekly (on newsstands now). "It was a totally special experience."
In honor of the collection (with pieces ranging from $80 to $1,600, in stores in November), Gucci donated $1 million to UNICEF's Schools for Africa initiative and $50,000 to Lopez's charity the Maribel Initiative, which promotes greater access to health care for women and children worldwide.
"It's exactly why I'm excited to be a part of this," says Lopez, who admits she and husband Marc Anthony were hesitant to have their kids participate until they learned of the charity connection. "Now there are two Gucci spokesbabies for a beautiful cause!"
Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles say her daughter is not pregnant. Tina Knowles taped Ellen DeGeneres’ show today and she told Ellen that the rumor is not true.
“I heard that, but I’m here to clear the rumors up. The truth is that it’s not Beyoncé that’s pregnant, it’s me,” joked Tina. “I’m kidding ya’ll. I’m 56.”
However, she remained good-natured about the gossip. “No, it’s not true. Not right now. I’m looking forward to it. With all the rumors, by now I should have five or six grandchildren.”
Although Mariah Carey has yet to confirm her pregnancy, Nick Cannon is glad to open up about parenthood.
During the Running Russell Simmons party on Tuesday night (October 19), Us magazine asked if Cannon had thought about how many kids the couple wants.
Cannon said, “Not really. I mean, it’s just whatever God blesses us with at that time. We’ll be happy with whatever it is.”
Not caring whether he and Mariah have a boy or girl, Cannon said, “We just want a healthy child.”
Recognizing that he’ll be a young father, Nick continued, “My parents were actually kids when had me. My parents were still in high school and teenagers — and we have a beautiful relationship. I’ll probably be that same way.”
On 'Dancing With the Stars,' Brandy admitted she hasn't been intimate with a man for six years -- now she tells Life & Style why.
"I haven't been with a man seriously and in love in six years. And, honestly, I tend to abstain if I'm not in a relationship," Brandy says.
Although it hasn't actually been a full six years, the singer says, "It's been a long time. We're talking years."
Brandy has tried getting back in the dating game, though. "I actually went on a blind date a couple months ago that was very interesting but nothing serious."
There was a time when Brandy had a thing for rapper Flo Rida. "I was very interested in him. I mean, how can you not be -- he's very attractive. But there was just something about us that didn't click."
Last week, Howard Stern took major issue with Brandy's 'Dancing' partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy getting a little too ... comfortable, we'll say, with the singer.
"This guy is yelling at her, giving her the business about how she has to work harder," Stern said. "She's being a good sport about it, pretending like this actually matters if they're dancing the f***ing samba correctly. All of the sudden, while he's training her he starts smacking her on the ass."
"This guy is training a woman, a black woman," a perturbed Stern added. "You know when a man walks by a woman and makes a sound like she's a fine horse? He's smacking her on the ass like she's his personal property, like back in the slave days. I was astounded they were showing this on TV."
Taylor Swift has made a living off of writing cute love songs, but when it comes to her own life, she seems really confused about relationships.
Taylor, who has previously dated Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner, admits that she's not sure marriage is for everyone and is ruling out the concept for the time being.
She said: "I've seen marriages be really great, and I've seen them be not so great. I've seen that people have to really work through love and fight for it, and I've been in relationships where you have to fight for it. And is it worth it?
“I don't think that love can possibly be easy all the time, in fact, most of the time it's going to be hard. I think it's important to try to find someone who's going to tell you, 'This is worth it,' when you're scared, and tell you, 'I'm never leaving you,' when you're doubting it. I think that's the most important thing."

Rihanna admits that things are going great between them, but she has no plans to walk down the aisle.
“I’m only 22!” she said. “I’ve heard the word marriage 400 times in the past few days, but no I’m not ready for that yet.”
But just because she had a public fallout with her ex Chris Brown doesn't mean she's not willing to take risks in her new relationship.
“If I was scared to do something wrong I wouldn’t be where I am today,” she said. “And that would totally restrict me. You learn from your mistakes.
She added, “To remember that every day I got a tattoo of the sentence ‘Never a failure always a lesson’ mirror-inverted under my collarbone. Now I can read that sentence every day in the mirror.”

He said when she didn’t drop off the boys for a court-ordered visit March 12 and he couldn’t get in touch with her or the kids for more than a day, he thought the worst.

Yesterday, a press release from Nicki Minaj’s camp hit the internet, stating that she had dropped Diddy as her manager and replaced him with Benny Medina.
Turns out, the press release was a fake.
Nicki Minaj took to her Twitter account yesterday to explain that all is good on her end.
She also said she’s never even met her supposed “new” manager.
Tyler Perry recently taped an interview with Oprah Winfrey where he spoke about being abused while growing up in New Orleans. He also tells the daytime host that he once tried to commit suicide.
According to acesshowbiz.com, Tyler breaks down when he spoke about being raped by a family member.
He told Oprah, “It’s so disgusting.”
Tyler says this is the most revealing interview he has ever done. He previously disclosed on his website that he was abused as a child.
The show is scheduled to air this Wednesday, October 20.
Kanye West told an audience that he had contemplated suicide during a Los Angeles premiere screening of his “Runaway” short film.
“There were times that I contemplated suicide,” Yeezy told the crowd. “I will not give up on life again.”
Don’t worry Kanye! It gets better.
Yahoo News was at the premiere and gives a thorough description of the film.
After a prelude featuring narration from rapper Nicki Minaj, West’s character, Griffin, is seen driving a black MTX Tatra supercar down a country road. Lying next to a hole in the pavement is a phoenix fallen to Earth, played by model Selita Ebanks in pink, gray and brown feathers.
He takes her home and offers this advice: “First rule in this world, baby: Don’t pay attention to anything you see on the news.”
The phoenix sits on a lawn with a deer, rabbit and sheep, then joins West at a private parade featuring fireworks, a marching band and a float depicting Michael Jackson.
Playing over those visuals are West’s next single, “All of the Lights,” which he said features Elton John on piano and an all-star chorus including Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Fergie and John Legend.
Ballerinas in black tutus perform in a scene featuring his current single, “Runaway.” When the tune ended, there was applause from both the on-screen and live audience.
Kanye’s new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, drops November 22nd.
We always told you to give the youth a chance. Everyone coming down on him like he is a super monster. Note we are still not condoning violence…just for you to have a little more understanding.
Private e-mails between Rihanna and Chris Brown have surfaced.
In November 2009, nine months after Rihanna’s infamous beating, she appeared on 20/20 with Diane Sawyer and gave an interview in an attempt to clear her name of any blame for her and Chris’ abusive relationship.
However, people have always had their doubts. Many believe Rihanna was equally abusive, at least verbally, prompting Chris’ disturbing reaction.
Now, MediaTakeout has obtained photos of Rihanna’s e-mail account (allegedly) from just 3 months before the incident.
It seems Chris wasn’t responding to Rihanna’s phone calls, so she sent him a nasty note.
(Note: Robyn Fenty is Rihanna’s real name. You will also see e-mails to and from Mariel Haenn, Rihanna’s well-known stylist.)

“By now, everyone should now that I am really strict when it comes to my representation.
I had sympathy for Sean however I feel as if I haven’t gotten the guidance the manager is supposed to give his client.
Personally, I feel like I’m being managed by mother. Even if you play the smallest role on my team, I wish to see progress. I’d like to thank him for everything he has done for me; for taking me under his wing. I wish him the best with repping Rick [Ross].
But now that my album is about to drop, its time to get serious and stop playing games. If I could turn back time…I wouldn’t have made the decision to let Troy go.”
Nicki reportedly broke the news in a press release yesterday, October 18, stating that Diddy did not meet her standards.
She has replaced Diddy with star-maker Benny Medina, who currently manages mogul Jennifer Lopez, and whose oast clients include Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Brandy and Usher.

Though T.I. has recently been on the wrong side of the law, he worked with police in Atlanta to prevent a man from jumping off a ledge of the 22-story building.
The building happened to be where Atlanta radio station V103 is located. T.I. heard about the jumper on the radio and called in to Ryan Cameron’s show on the station to see if there was any way he could help.
TMZ has the scoop:
Ryan Cameron tells us … he told T.I. to roll over to the building, where the rapper met with police and recorded a heartfelt video message which cops then played for the man on the roof.
We’re told after the man saw T.I.’s video he agreed to step off the ledge … and met T.I. in the lobby, where the two were able to talk things out.
Sources have revealed to TMZ what T.I. said in the video message: “Nothing is that bad. Nothing in life is worth taking your life. I’m here to help you. Please come down to talk to me.”

Warner Bros. is preparing for the limited release of a collection of controversial racist cartoons that were pulled from syndication in 1968.
Called the “Censored Eleven,” these eleven Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoon shorts feature blatantly stereotypical depictions of blacks and have been deemed to controversial for contemporary general audiences.
The offensive material is so pervasive in these cartoons that no amount of editing could make them suitable for airing on television.
Though a few of them are currently in the public domain and pop up periodically on low-budget compilations, they have been largely unseen since 1968 and have been sought after by animation collectors for decades for their historical significance.
Warner Bros, who owns the cartoons, will be releasing the cartoons in 2011 as part of their Warner Archive series of releases, which are available in limited quantities through their website.
Included in the set are the following clips:
1. Hittin’ the Trail for Hallelujah Land (1931, directed by Rudolf Ising)
2. Sunday Go to Meetin’ Time (1936, directed by Friz Freleng)
3. Clean Pastures (1937, directed by Friz Freleng)
4. Uncle Tom’s Bungalow (1937, directed by Tex Avery)
5. Jungle Jitters (1938, directed by Friz Freleng)
6. The Isle of Pingo Pongo (1938, directed by Tex Avery)
7. All This and Rabbit Stew (1941, directed by Tex Avery)
8. Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs (1943, directed by Robert Clampett)
9. Tin Pan Alley Cats (1943, directed by Robert Clampett)
10. Angel Puss (1944, directed by Chuck Jones)
11. Goldilocks and the Jivin’ Bears (1944, directed by Friz Freleng)
Several of the shorts that will be on this set have been uploaded to sites like YouTube over the years.
Randy Jackson, the second youngest of the Jackson clan, was upset to find out that his parents, Joseph and Katherine Jackson, were being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in the family home.
He claims that Michael wouldn’t have approved of the interview.
Like all other people in 2010, Randy chose to vent his frustrations and anger in a series of posts on Twitter.
I know [everyone] wants to know my position on the Oprah interview. [First] let me say that I love my mother and father. I am humbly grateful to have them as my parents, but I don’t always agree with the choices they make. this is [one] of those times.
[I] found out Oprah was at our family home, my stomach ached and it still hasn’t gone away. I had no prior knowledge this was going to happen. It was deliberately kept from me because they knew I would have tried to stop it. I know how Oprah feels about my brother and family. I also know that he would not have wanted this. In fact, she is the last person on earth he would want around his children.
I can never forget when she had the show on pedophilia during the jury deliberation process in my brother’s Santa Maria case. That was no coincidence. I know there are a lot of you out there upset and angry over this. I don’t blame you. Can you imagine how I feel? I’m angry too…
Let our anger be the fuel that ignites our desire for truth, and keeps us unified on the road to justice for [Michael]. I will continue to do my best with my family. All I need is your love and support. I will never give up.
Randy has been using his Twitter account (@RandyJackson8) mostly to vent about developments in the many legal situations surrounding the death of Michael Jackson.
In light of former B2K member Raz-B’s recent video accusing Marques Houston and TUG Entertainment CEO Chris Stokes of being pedophiles, another artist associated with Stokes & Houston has come forward claiming that he was molested while in their camp.
Quindon Tarver had a brush with fame in 1996 after appearing in Baz Luhrmann’s film adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Tarver appeared in the movie as a member of a church choir, where he sang a popular rendition of Prince’s “When Doves Cry.”
NecoleBitchie.com was forwarded an email from Quindon where he addressed Raz-B’s latest video and had his own two cents about the behavior of Marques Houston and Chris Stokes.
I wanted to say a personal thank you for supporting me and my story.
Chris Stokes is a predator and a manipulator so is Marques Houston who is the ring leader in all of this.
Yes i have been forced to kiss Marques Houston, yes i have been asked when u masturbate who do u think about in IMx, the list goes on and on…there are also numerous members of various groups that were involved with Chris Stokes that were molested or touched in the wrong way that are AFRAID of speaking out. Also Michael Houston knew about this and did NOTHING….
I don’t know why or what they were thinking when this was done to me and others but i have been scarred for life from it. I hate that i settled and didn’t take it into court but at the time we were threatened with death and i was afraid for my family as well as myself.
He and Chris are still denying all this…its disgusting. But after all has been said and done I’m fine and I’m blessed…God will get the last laugh..as he knows what is true and what isn’t…but once again thanks for your support…God bless
TUG Entertainment made their name off of signing young artists like Marques Houston’s group Immature (later IMX), Monteco, O’Ryan (Omarion’s brother), and B2K.

Taylor who appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court in St. Elizabeth on Tuesday is scheduled to reappear on December 16 to answer the remaining charges.
The charge of improper conduct has been dropped.
He is still charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
The charges stemmed from an incident at a bar in Bull Savannah, St. Elizabeth, on December 31 last year.
Police officers went to the establishment to enquire about its licence and its closing time.
Mr. Taylor, who was a patron at the bar, reportedly became boisterous and when spoken to, he assaulted a Police Sergeant who tried to arrest him.
In court on Tuesday, after an application by defence attorney Velma Hylton QC and consultation with the prosecution, the charge of improper conduct was withdrawn.
Prison time for T.I. is inevitable, although prosecutors and defense lawyers representing the rap star are arguing in court over how much time he should spend in prison for violating his probation.
According to reports, T.I.’s probation officer has recommended a sentence of eight to 14 months in prison, while lawyers for the rapper countered that at most, T.I. should be sent to prison for 5 to 11 months.
At 2:00 PM on October 15th, T.I. will find out just how much time he will spend behind bars, for violating the terms of his probation on September 1st in Los Angeles.
Chris Brown Says “I Have No Friends In The Industry”
As much as you hate Chris Brown, during his latest interview with Hot 97 you can tell he has grown up and learned a lot from the “domestic violence” situation with ex Rihanna.
He says that a friend should be there through the good and bad times and that he was very disappointed when he needed some people the most that they weren’t there.
He says he has no friends in the industry and as harsh as that may sound, he is telling the truth.
Breezy also talks about Usher and why they aren’t going on tour together anymore–he says they were more in love with the idea than the business.
“I don’t need no more friends.”

JOHANNESBURG (AP) -- A woman accused of abusing teenagers at Oprah Winfrey's school for girls in South Africa was acquitted of the charges Monday, and Winfrey said she was "profoundly disappointed" by the trial's outcome.
Prosecutors had accused former school matron Tiny Virginia Makopo of trying to kiss and fondle girls at the school soon after it opened in 2007 outside Johannesburg.
Makopo also had been accused of assaulting one of the teens as well as a fellow supervisor.
"The matron who was working at the Oprah Winfrey school was found not guilty on all the sexual assault charges," Mthunzi Mhaga, a spokesman for South Africa's National Prosecuting Authority, said Monday.
"The magistrate was of the view that the state had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that she was guilty. We won't be appealing the judgment."
Winfrey had called the allegations crushing given her own stated history of childhood sexual abuse and promised an overhaul of the school.
"I will forever be proud of the nine girls who testified with the courage and conviction to be heard," Winfrey said in a statement Monday.

The sexual assault case against the reverend Dr. Paul Lewis has been put off in the Westmoreland Circuit court in Jamaica.
The matter was first mentioned in the circuit session today after being transferred from the Resident Magistrate’s Court.
Reverend Lewis is scheduled to return October 19.
By that time deputy director of public prosecutions Dirk Harrison should have
reviewed the case file and determine whether the case should be tried.
Following yesterday’s court appearance Reverend Lewis’ lawyer, Keith Bishop, told
reporters that the evidence against his client is weak.
He also says the matter should have been dismissed long ago.
In the meantime, Reverend Lewis’ $300,000 bail has been extended.
It’s alleged that in June 2009, Reverend Lewis met a 15-year-old girl at a church convention in Little London, Westmoreland, where he was a guest preacher.

On their return to Westmoreland, the girls reportedly stayed with him at his Negril hotel.
It’s alleged that on that same night that the alleged sexual encounter took place with the 15-year-old girl while her companion watched.
