With gratitude, I accept health and wholeness. I have been given a great gift--the gift of my physical body. It is the housing for my spirit and my soul. I listen to the wisdom of my body temple and respond to the messages I hear. My inner voice guides me to make life-affirming choices. I think and speak in positive, uplifting ways. I envision myself healthy and whole. Each cell of my body responds to my loving, peaceful thoughts. With gratitude, I welcome and accept healing and wholeness. INNER PEACE In the Silence, I find peace. My peaceful place is not a room or a spot on the map. My peaceful place is a state of consciousness. The moment I turn my attention away from the outer world, I begin my journey into the Silence. With eyes closed, my heart knows the way. The rhythm of my breath carries me as if I were lying in a gently rocking boat. Troubled thoughts, fears and concerns fall away as I move deeper. I go within and rest from the cares and busyness of my day. I am a spiritual being; I am God's peace in expression. When I resume my usual activities, I remain centered in inner peace. I rest in the awareness of God, and I am guided in right ways. If I am facing a crossroads in my life, or an important decision, or if I simply want a greater sense of divine direction, I affirm the invocation as taught by Jesus, "Your will be done." This simple affirmation helps me turn within and reaffirm my faith in God. It allows me to release my fears and invite divine direction. My task is to get myself--including any negative thoughts, fears or concerns--out of the way and allow the presence of God to guide me. When I trust in the Presence within me and follow its lead, I am blessed in countless ways. I have confidence that the path I am following is leading me to opportunities for peace, joy and freedom. OUTLOOK

My outlook improves when I appreciate God's blessings in my life.

A walk in the woods refreshes my mind and recharges my energy. Tree roots, fallen branches and rocks may make the walk tricky, but they don't prevent my progress. They are reminders to slow my pace. I stop occasionally to fully appreciate the beauty of my surroundings: the sunlight dancing in the brilliantly colored trees, the fresh forest air, the birds filling the air with song. Grateful for the beauty that surrounds me, I continue on my way.

Day-to-day life is like that walk. When challenges arise, I slow my pace, remembering to keep my feet firmly planted on holy ground. I gain a fresh outlook by appreciating the ways God's joy and peace bless my life.

FREEDOM

My true freedom rests in Spirit.

I may feel powerless in certain difficult situations, but powerlessness is an illusion. Even though I may not know how I will find my way through, I know that true wisdom and power come from Spirit within.

To move beyond any standstill, I remember the Truth of my existence: I am divinely created, made in the image and likeness of God. In this Truth, there is no room for worry. I live in a consciousness that is limitless; I live in spiritual freedom.

I fully use the power of Spirit within me to be free from restraint. I break through chains that bind me and open to the understanding that I have the power here and now to do all things. Filled with Spirit, my life is bursting with God's promises.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free.--Romans 8:2

GENTLENESS

With a gentle spirit, I care for myself and others.

When I hold a newborn baby, I am gentle and caring. This new life is fragile and should be lovingly cared for. The same principle applies to myself and to others.

Today I focus on being gentle and kind. I am mindful of words and behaviors that might be rude or critical. In my interactions with others, I speak lovingly and quietly. I treat others with dignity and respect.

I am gentle with myself also. I slow my pace and take time to breathe. I walk with an ease of spirit and an awareness of God. I release worry or anxiety and see myself in a positive way. As I am gentle with myself and others, I find that my thoughts are peaceful and my life flows smoothly.

BALANCE

In Christ, I am poised and balanced.

Illness can be my first indication that I am out of balance. Beyond tending to my physical body with rest and recuperation, it is important for me to also look at my spiritual well-being.

If I feel sensitive, overwhelmed or disconnected from Source, I will feel the effect in mind, body and spirit. To find my center, I focus on the inflow and outflow of my breath. I become present with my Christ Nature and step aside from the noise of both the outer world and my own scattered thoughts. I become still and tune in to God.

As I find balance, I am able to use my energy more wisely. I cultivate a loving heart. At one with the serenity and wisdom within me, I am in balance--mind, body and spirit.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you.--1 Timothy 4:14

EASE

Spirit within me is expressing in wise and wonderful ways.

I recognize that worry-thoughts are stumbling blocks on my way toward achievement. Consequently, if I worry that something is going to be difficult, it likely will be. So I open to the underlying potential in what might seem to be a difficulty. I know that all matters can be handled with ease as I let Spirit within express as me in wise and wonderful ways. I can do what is mine to do and do it well.

I am neither timid nor boastful. A feeling of ease--fortified by my awareness of my innate divinity--nudges me along, from thinking to planning to doing. From my inner, sacred reservoir, I call on wisdom and understanding, life and vigor to move me forward in both simple and complex activities.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.--Philippians 4:13

COMFORT

God's great love eases my mind and brings me comfort.

A child with a skinned knee, an Olympic competitor who finishes fourth, members of a family who lose their home--all experience different kinds of pain. In each case, the love and support of a dear friend or family member will help ease the hurt. And yet, as great as any love is, it pales in comparison to God's unconditional and eternal love. When I am sad or hurting, I turn to God's love to ease my mind and bring me comfort.

If my heart is aching, the soothing presence of God within brings me peace. In God's presence, I am encouraged and uplifted. We are all God's beloved children, and though, from time to time, we may become disheartened, the love of God is our eternal comfort.

As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you.--Isaiah 66:13

WORLD PEACE

I live in peace with all humankind.

To watch the news, it may seem the world is consumed by chaos. What can I do to make a difference?

The Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi suggests that we "not so much seek ... to be understood, as to understand." I open to greater understanding in my life, and I pray for world leaders to find and understand what binds us together rather than what tears us apart.

Through prayer and meditation, I find peace in my own heart. Peace begins with me. As I feel peaceful, I generate an energy of peace. Where there was stress, there is now calm. I know the Truth: All people are my brothers and sisters, and we can live in peace.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled.--John 14:27

HEALING

Divine life flows through me, healing my mind and body.

Within each seed is the perfect imprint of all it can become. Life flows out, mapping its growth into maturity. If a season is too warm or too cold, the leaves of a seedling may curl, but the imprint remains strong. With the proper nutrients, rain and sun, life surges forth into new leaves and blooms and fruit.

I may experience a season of doubt, sadness or physical challenge, but it is only a season. The imprint of perfect Life remains strong within me, ready to flow through me as renewed energy, health and peace. Each day in prayer I open my heart to the healing flow of God's Life in me. I am thankful for the healing seasons in my life.

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.--Proverbs 4:23

CHRIST WITHIN

Christ in me is mightier than any circumstance in my life.

I do not consider myself a victim of circumstance. I share the conviction of the poet William Ernest Henley: "I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.'' The presence of God--the same triumphant, undefeatable Spirit that was in Jesus--is in me. God is manifest in me as my Christ self, the reality within me that has never changed, never been hurt or defeated.

Christ in me is the wisdom, faith and courage that meet every challenge successfully. Christ in me is love, understanding and goodwill that give me patience and graciousness at all times. Christ in me is the peace, joy and light that manifest themselves as true happiness and enable me to share happiness with others. Christ is overcoming power.

But you are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you.--Romans 8:9

PROSPERITY

I give generously and receive abundantly.

God is the great divine energy present everywhere. As a creation of God, I am immersed in and part of that energy. It is in giving generously and receiving fully that I connect with the God-energy in me. When I act thoughtfully towards another, I receive thoughtfulness in return. As I give love to others, I feel more fully loved. As I circulate my financial resources with joy and gratitude, I find that my life is richly blessed with experiences and sustenance that bring me even greater joy.

I give thanks for friends and loved ones, for joyful activities and for all the good that life offers. I give generously, receive abundantly and my life is truly blessed.

But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.--Matthew 6:33

TRANSITION

I continue to evolve in spiritual understanding.

Change is inevitable. Day becomes night. People and circumstances come and go. As things change, I can choose to accept, to adapt, to appreciate, but most of all, I can choose to learn and grow.

Nature shows us that we die to the old and are reborn in the new. We see leaves turning color each autumn, dropping from tree branches, followed by new growth each springtime. Just as in nature, we must let go of what was in order to grow anew.

I am always in a state of becoming. I embrace change as it allows me to become all I am meant to be. As I move through transitions and evolve in spiritual understanding, I release the past and welcome the fullness of the glorious present, in whatever form it takes.

I die every day! That is as certain, brothers and sisters, as my boasting of you.--1 Corinthians 15:31

WORLD PEACE

Today I speak only words of peace.

Words are powerful tools for building a world of peace. A good carpenter maintains his tools and chooses his materials with care. As I seek to contribute to a world of peace, I maintain inner peace and choose my words with care.

If my thoughts have become as troubled as the challenging conditions around me, I pause and take a gentle breath. In that moment, I align my thoughts with Jesus' teachings. I let Spirit guide me in choosing words that call forth the potential peace waiting to unfold in each situation. Casting aside thoughts and words of anger, hurt or revenge, I allow my words to honor the Divine in each of us as together we create a world of peace.

Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.--Hebrews 12:11

I release what does not serve me and freely claim my good.

I am free to choose where to focus my attention. If I am worried or afraid, I may be tempted to blame others. In challenging times, I can choose to retain or release negative feelings that weigh me down.

Jesus taught that I am to love God and my neighbor as myself. I embody this teaching when I freely treat myself and others with love and gratitude.

I nurture myself as a unique expression of the Divine. I am grateful for the people and circumstances in my life. In prayer and contemplation, I release any fear or anger, and I connect with the peace and goodness of God. I am free to live a loving, peaceful life.

HARMONY

The Christ in me greets the Christ in others.

If ever I become mired in a disagreement with another person, I set differences aside for a moment and remember a powerful truth, one that re-establishes harmony: We are both sacred beings.

The Christ of our beings is a sacred center from which words and actions of love and caring naturally flow. We can live and work in harmony as we behold the Christ in each other. Giving expression to the Christ, we are being true to our sacred nature.

We may still agree to disagree on some things, but we do so with respect for our unique beliefs and passions in life. The sacredness at the center of us unites us no matter what is going on.

How great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.--Colossians 1:27

BLESS THE CHILDREN

I bless children with my thoughts and prayers.

As children return to school, I bless them and pray for them to have a positive, enriching experience. I see them waiting for the school bus, anticipating a new school day, and I affirm it will be a good one.

They are ready to learn about the world, other people and themselves. Their minds and hearts are open. I envision each child discovering new skills, enhancing their natural talents, and putting new knowledge to use.

Seeing the children excited about their day stirs a new enthusiasm in me. As a lifelong learner, I look for and find a divine connection in the people and circumstances I encounter. My thoughts and prayers bless each child as they are a blessing to the world.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs."--Matthew 19:14

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

We are channels through which Spirit illumines the world.

Lighthouses are positioned so their light will reach the greatest distance and provide the clearest guidance. Similarly, each of us is positioned to be a brilliant beacon of the One Light, right where we are.

Spirit guides us to share love, to support one another, and to dispel the darkness of fear and separation. We stand confidently and express the light of Spirit, touching the hearts and minds of those around us. Knowing the power of Spirit to heal the world, we let our lights shine through our prayers, words and actions. In every language, in every land, the good news of peace and love and abundance is being shared. We are channels through which Spirit illumines the world.

No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.--Matthew 5:15

SPIRITUAL GIFTS I awaken to and express my spiritual gifts. I am open to new ideas and alert to divine inspiration. I recognize God as the source of divine ideas as well as the source of my ability to act on these ideas. Many people use their spiritual gifts to contribute toward a higher good on earth. I seek to discern my own gifts, develop them and express them fully. I am energized as I identify a calling in which to invest my time and talents. I feel the inner peace that comes from being aligned with my purpose. The presence of God in me inspires me to express my spiritual gifts, and I am grateful. We are all channels through which God's work is done. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit, ... it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.--1 Corinthians 12:4, 6

FORGIVE

I forgive and live in peace.

My words may not always be kind or compassionate, and at times, I may feel hurt by the words of others. In these instances, I take responsibility for my words and reactions. I participate in gentle conversations by explaining what I heard and sharing my feelings. I am a loving child of God, and through my willingness to hear others objectively, I open the door for clear, compassionate communication.

I rid my own heart of negativity by speaking my truth with love, and listening with love as well. When someone seeks pardon, I forgive and live in peace. Through this loving exchange, we connect heart to heart. Our communication is Spirit-led and any misconceptions are lifted to a higher level of spiritual understanding.

JOY

I clap my hands and sing with joy.

I am a living example of joy. I clap my hands when I am happy. I sing loudly to rejoice. I dance with enthusiasm. I laugh until I cry. I live in the full joy and presence of Spirit, and my life is filled with joy.

I see, hear, touch and taste the blessings of my world. I see a child's delight in play. I hear the coo and gurgle of a happy baby. I touch the hand of a loved one. I taste a delicious meal and am satisfied. There is joy to behold in all aspects of the world around me and within me.

I think about the things that make me joyful --and I bring more of them into my life. I make joy a daily habit, for it comes from deep within me.

Clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with loud songs of joy. --Psalm 47:1

ENERGIZED

I am energized and rejuvenated.

Each morning when I awake, I have the opportunity to start my day with prayer. Aware of my innate creative power, I am invigorated by Spirit within. I then move ahead empowered, choosing uplifting thoughts, positive statements and purposeful actions that reflect my greatest intentions.

If ever I feel sluggish or unmotivated, I pause and pray. A few minutes of communion with Spirit revives my vital energy and awakens my enthusiasm. In Spirit, I am confident, knowing that all things given to me will be accomplished, that all that is not understood will be revealed, and that all that is difficult will be made easy.

The God who has girded me with strength has opened wide my path. --2 Samuel 22:33

WORLD PEACE

I enfold myself and all beings in peace.

The commandment to love "your neighbor as yourself" is a reminder to me that my "neighbor" is not only the person living next door. My neighbor is every living being in the world. Just as I want my life to be peaceful, I want the same for my neighbors everywhere.

I may not have the authority to sign peace treaties or the power to stop war, but I do have the power of prayer and of love. When I see images of troubled people or unfortunate events in the world, I send thoughts of love, peace, comfort and understanding to all involved. It is up to me to love, to envision peace, and to believe in the power of prayer. As I do these things, I am an agent of change, an agent of peace.

NOURISH

Positive thoughts and actions nourish my body, soul and spirit.

Eating the proper food helps me stay healthy and maintain the energy I need to lead a dynamic and active life. Nutrition is the fuel of a healthy body.

An active and vibrant spiritual practice is also essential for healthy living. Prayer and meditation, creative expression and communion with others, gratitude and positive thinking--these activities fundamentally support my awareness of being at one with God. Positive and life-enhancing thoughts and actions sustain both my physical and spiritual health. Through divine life within me, I am nourished in body, soul and spirit.

The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places ... and you shall be like a watered garden ... whose waters never fail. --Isaiah 58:11

HEALING

Divine life is present in every cell of my body. I am whole.

When a health challenge arises in me or someone I care about, it is appropriate to seek the advice of health professionals. I also know the value of prayer--attuning my heart and mind to the presence of God within.

I affirm divine life in every cell of my body and wisdom and clarity for all nurses and doctors involved in my care. I give thanks in advance for my ability to listen carefully and to ask the right questions.

With a deep awareness of the omnipresence of God, I know that wholeness is intrinsic in all people. Grateful for this awareness, I relax, knowing that healing is taking place.

My child, be attentive to my words ... For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. --Proverbs 4:20, 22

FAITH

My faith in God is strengthened day by day.

After a long walk, my muscles may ache, especially if I have recently been inactive. As I exercise more, my muscles are strengthened and a long walk becomes easier. My faith works in a similar way. Like a network of muscles, my faith is strengthened each time I put it into practice.

Today I strengthen my faith by reflecting on the many blessings I have received. I remember guidance in a time of doubt, abundance that sustained me, and love that comforted me. As I recall the many ways that God has provided exactly what I needed, I stop looking to a person or situation outside myself to provide for me. I trust the presence of God within as my true Source of good.

If you do not stand firm in faith, you shall not stand at all. --Isaiah 7:9

PERSPECTIVE

I choose to see from a higher viewpoint and gain perspective.

The view from the mountaintop does not reveal the busyness of life below. From up top, one sees only peace. Similarly, as I elevate my outlook, I see life from a grander perspective. The problems that once seemed large become small when I take a broader view.

Perhaps I have been caught up in the day-to-day drama of life. As I expand my view, I see that loving relationships, vibrant health, and conscious awareness of the presence of God are more important to me.

As I gain perspective, I am slower to judge and quicker to forgive. My mind is broadened and my heart is opened as I experience life from a higher vantage point.

Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low. --Isaiah 40:4

POTENTIAL

I am born anew with spiritual promise and potential.

We rejoice when a newborn enters the world. In awe, we see that radiant being for the first time, full of promise and potential. As children learn to talk and interact with the world, we love and nurture them. We encourage them as they reach each new developmental milestone.

Each human being is on a journey. As our bodies grow and mature, we also mature psychologically and spiritually. Our inner growth comes as we gain awareness of ourselves as spiritual beings. I grow spiritually as I become aware of the divine spark within. Regardless of my physical age, I awaken to my true potential as a powerful co-creator and grow into my full spiritual promise.

You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.--1 Peter 1:23

PRESENT MOMENT

Centered in the present moment, I claim my power.

When a question or worry is on my mind, I may be tempted to focus on troubles of the past or concerns for the future, but this attention would rob me of the power of the now moment. Instead, I stay present.

I quiet my mind and become fully aware of all this moment has to teach me. All the wisdom I need is here, now. My thoughts may drift to the past or future, but I needn't remain there. I can choose instead to immerse myself in the power of the present moment. It is here that I connect with divine wisdom.

Anchored in the here and now, I find the answers I seek. My decisions are wise and thoughtful, because I am grounded and centered. Right here and now, I claim my power.

See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation!--2 Corinthians 6:2

AUTHENTICITY

I am a perfect expression of the Divine, just as I am.

As I look in the mirror, the reflection I see is a face of God. One of billions of expressions of the One Power, I am absolutely unique. The moment of my creation brought gifts, talents and experiences that belong to no one else. Knowing this, how can I question the design of the Creator?

Today I drop the illusion that I should look or act like someone else. Any admirable quality I see in others is already a part of me. My work today is to be my best self. I apply my wisdom to make healthy, peace-filled choices. With an open heart, I share my gifts of love. There is no one else I want to be because I am a perfect expression of the Divine, just as I am.

LET GO, LET GOD

I trust in the activity of Spirit, and my faith grows.

Letting go brings me peace and freedom. As I trust in the activity of Spirit, I am free to release the weight of resentment or unforgiveness. As I let go of worry about a job, the economy, my health or a loved one, I allow Spirit to work in these situations. When I let go of self-doubt and unworthiness, I let divine inner wisdom be my guide.

My life is uplifted and sustained by the spirit of God active in me. My faith grows as I surrender any doubts and trust in Spirit. Letting go does not mean I do nothing. It simply means I am less willful and more willing. I let go of the need to control or solve every problem and marvel at the way life is forever moving in the direction of my highest good.

But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." --Psalm 31:14

CLARITY

Returning to my Christ nature, I see all things clearly.

When asked to heal a blind man, Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. The man's vision was restored, but it was blurred. To him, people looked "like trees, walking." After Jesus laid his hands on him a second time, the man could see clearly.

As I turn within for guidance and direction, I affirm the clarity I seek and give thanks in advance for the ability to see things clearly. Even if doubts arise, I do not turn away. I continue to return to the Christ Presence within for clear vision. With spiritual clarity, I affirm wholeness despite any physical condition. I see abundance where others may only see lack. By returning to my Christ nature, I can see all things clearly.

Many years ago, Marlo Thomas wrote the book Free to Be ... You and Me, which celebrated the importance of the individual and challenged society's stereotypes. As I remember that premise, I give thanks for the freedom to be the unique person God created me to be.

All people "live and move and have our being" in God. Knowing that I am a spiritual being, that I am divinely guided and blessed, brings me peace and freedom. It reminds me that I have a unique place in this world and a special role to fulfill.

Through the power of my Christ nature, I awaken to a new life.

Every time I pray--every time I have a realization of the Christ power within me--I awaken to my spiritual nature. As I let the light of Christ shine within my consciousness, I release old ways of living, and open to a new life, a new way of being.

Early Christians told the story of Lazarus, who appeared to be dead to everyone except Jesus, who called him from the tomb. My Christ nature can transcend any appearance or condition and allow me to awaken into a new life of oneness and wholeness, of harmony and abundance, of understanding and peace.

By turning to the Christ presence within me, I awaken my spirit. I hear my Christ nature calling me, and I awaken to a new life.

I affirm right and perfect outcomes for all.

When I want to support others, I cannot help them if I am saddled with worry, doubt or fear. Instead of letting my heart become burdened, I open my heart to divine love. I affirm the right and perfect outcomes and focus on the unfolding of their highest good. I remove my limited self and allow Spirit to enter.

In the sacred silence, centered in divine love, I pray that grace, wisdom and strength will infuse and enfold them. I set aside the problem at hand and invite the manifestation of a solution. If they are ill, I see them healed. If they are in distress, I see them comforted. God is at work in and through me as I uphold others in prayer.

I express the Spirit of joy and my life becomes radiant and joyful.

Joy. The word alone brings a smile to my face. By embracing joy, I shift my thinking, my mood and my life. Even when I am feeling sad, I turn to the Spirit within and I find my joy, which is stronger and more powerful than any thought of sadness.

Joy is transformative as I allow it free and full expression through my thoughts, words and actions. Joy fills my heart as I hold the hand of a loved one in need. Seeing past any human flaws and frailties, I behold their true essence. Our connection is life-affirming and joy-filled.

I rejoice in the opportunity to share my joy. I let the joy of Spirit shine through me to uplift every person whose life touches mine, and we are each blessed.

As I forgive, I recognize God's goodness expressing in and around me.

Life lessons bring me closer to knowing the peace of Christ within my heart. When I experience a hurtful exchange with another person, I allow forgiveness to release me from the pain. Forgiving does not condone unacceptable behavior; it gives me permission to break free from the hold people or situations may have on me.

With compassion, I forgive myself for doing something I regret or for neglecting to do something I wish I had done. Through self-forgiveness, my capacity to forgive others increases. Judgment is released.

As I forgive, I gratefully accept the peace of Christ within and see the goodness of God expressing.

Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.--Luke 6:37

I am free to be joyful, playful and loving.

Some may wait for the end of the school year, the end of a work week, or the end of a project to feel free. I am not bound by any circumstance, pattern or habit in my outer conditions; I am free always!

Today I choose to be joyful, playful and loving. I am not limited by location, schedule, day or habit. Nothing has the power to limit my ability to enjoy this day. When I choose to be joyful, I call forth the joy that is within me and I express it. Choosing to be playful, I allow the flow of creativity to enliven the simple activities of my day. I give love by sharing smiles and laughter with those around me.

Nothing limits my ability to choose my attitude. Acting from that freedom, I choose to be joyful, playful and loving.

I speak words of peace, inspiration and hope.

The words I speak or write contain immense creative power. When I confidently state my goals or intentions, I set in motion ideas that have the power to manifest in my life. At the same time, sharing uplifting words has a positive impact on others. Words of kindness and caring create a healing and nurturing environment.

Because the words I use have such power, I choose them carefully, taking time in prayer before speaking or writing them. My words create peace where there was discord, inspiration where there was apathy, and hope where there was despair. Guided by Spirit, I share words that bless and uplift.

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose. --Isaiah 55:11

REMEMBRANCE

With gratitude and kindness, I remember all who have served.

Today I remember with gratitude the men and women who have died in military service. I pray for all who have lost a loved one. I pray for the safety of those serving today.

I may shed tears when I think of those who are no longer with us. I feel tenderness for families, spouses, children and communities who mourn their lost heroes. Today I share a kind word, give a loving embrace, or say an extra prayer of peace and serenity.

With an open heart, I remember that we are all one with Spirit. As my heart opens wider, I feel my connection to others expand and grow. I am forever connected to those who came before me and those who will follow, and I am grateful.

HARMONY

I live in harmony with all of God's creation.

Whether at a mountain top or the ocean's depths, on a fertile plain or an arid desert, each life system maintains a delicate balance. Growth, rest and renewal can be seen in every corner of the earth. Human beings move freely among diverse regions and adapt wherever we go. We have a responsibility to use our understanding and wisdom to help maintain balance and harmony within the system.

Harmony does not seek to destroy; it builds up and sustains. As a loving steward of the planet, I live in harmony with all of God's creation. I am aware of what I take from the earth and what I give back. I take no more than I need and leave the earth a place of beauty for generations to come.

ACCEPTANCE

Freely and with love, I accept myself and others.

Great freedom comes from accepting people and circumstances as they are. Through acceptance, I release my need to control or change people or situations that are not mine to control. Peace comes from allowing things to unfold as they will. Through acceptance, I am free to embrace every situation and every person in a spirit of love.

The most important person for me to accept is me. I see myself as a child of God following a divinely inspired path to spiritual unfoldment. I let go of self-criticism and trust God. With a renewed sense of freedom and peace, I accept the people and circumstances in my life with love. I give thanks for the blessings they bring.

GUIDANCE

With Divine Spirit as my guide, I make wise choices.

When we are troubled or confused, it is human nature to turn to others and ask, "What do you think?" Feeling the need to search outside ourselves for answers is understandable, but I am blessed when I keep in mind that my guidance is not outside of me. It is within.

When I sit in the silence and open to Divine Spirit, I find the answers I seek. In the quiet, I am rewarded with Truth. When I ask, I receive. Spirit's wisdom awaits my invitation. I need only be still enough to hear.

My simple request is "Lead me. Show me the way." Divine Spirit is always present, willing to assist me. Following this lead, I make wise choices.

Happy is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates. --Proverbs 8:34

STRESS-FREE

I attune my soul to the melody of Spirit, and I am stress-free.

The strings of a cello, guitar or harp can make no music without tension--but when too much pressure is applied, the sound is off key and the strings may even break. With the proper tuning, however, the same strings can produce beautiful music.

Like the strings of an instrument, if the pressures of my family or workplace are high, I can experience stress. This provides an opportunity for growth and awareness. I turn within, breathe deeply, and attune my soul to the melody of Spirit. The stress is relieved.

Bringing my heart, mind and body back into harmony, I once again vibrate with positive energy. Attuned to Spirit, I resonate with the "music of the spheres."

I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will solve my riddle to the music of the harp. --Psalm 49:4

PROSPERITY

I am immersed in abundant life.

Believing that my prosperity is measured only by the money in my bank account may leave me feeling vulnerable and concerned about scarcity and lack. But prosperity is not the possession of things, rather a recognition of divine supply.

There is no scarcity of air to breathe, no scarcity of love to share, no scarcity of divine ideas, substance or supply. When I recognize this and open my consciousness to it, I see divine substance everywhere. I affirm it not only for myself, but for everyone.

Realizing the boundlessness of my spiritual inheritance, I see that nothing is lacking in my world. I recognize and appreciate my abundant blessings. Prosperity is mine.

And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you.--1 Thessalonians 3:12

FORGIVE

I choose to forgive and free myself to move forward.

The act of forgiveness is a conscious choice to let go, to move past feelings of resentment, and to move forward in light and love. Holding on to unforgiveness is like carrying a bucket of stones. With each step the bucket seems to get heavier and heavier until it is exhausting to bear.

Choosing a quiet time and place, I examine the stones of unforgiveness that fill my bucket. One by one, I take them out, lay them aside and release them to God. Without the stones of unforgiveness and resentment, I move freely and can now use the bucket to gather flowers of light, peace and freedom. I choose to forgive and release to remain free of resentment.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. --Matthew 6:12

RECOVERY

I am healthy and whole and continually renewed by the spirit of God within me.

Prayer is primary to my healing, whether I am recovering from an illness, surgery or even a broken heart. I begin each day with quiet moments of prayer. I give thanks for the life within me. I visualize the healthy, happy, energetic life I desire.

Healing takes time, and recovery takes many forms. A positive outcome will result if I give my body and mind the time they need. Patiently, I pray for the wisdom to know and do all I can to facilitate my recovery.

Turning my attention to the needs of others often helps my own recovery. Volunteering, even in a seemingly small way, renews me. Praying for others helps us all. Each prayer and every healthful activity supports my ongoing recovery.

Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.--Mark 11:24

ENTHUSIASM

I live life with enthusiasm, positivity and hope.

I begin this day filled with the spirit of God. My positive energy and enthusiasm are contagious. My mind and heart are open to living life fully. I experience life differently when my attitude is positive and hopeful. Where I previously saw obstacles, I now see opportunities.

I check in with myself midday to refocus my energy and to assure I am living from an awareness of the Divine. If I have allowed outer conditions to distract me or pull me off course, I adjust my attitude and outlook.

As I end this day, I once again check in with myself and notice I have much to be thankful for. I live my life with enthusiasm, recognizing and appreciating the spirit of God that enlivens me.

Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.--Romans 12:11

PRAYER

In communion with the indwelling Christ, I bring my good into manifestation.

In prayer, I am one with the Christ within. Prayer is a mental and spiritual attitude that lifts me up. I cease to believe that fear, disease or past choices have any power over me. My thoughts turn to Truth. My attention shifts from the world and is directed Christward. In prayer, I do not beseech God for blessings; I open to God and all that God is and offers. I consciously identify with the good that I seek, bringing my good into manifestation.

I am praying when I cease to see lack and limitation and realize the riches of the presence of Christ. I am praying when love instead of hate fills my heart. I am praying when I still any clamoring thoughts and feel the presence of the indwelling Christ.

For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds.--Matthew 7:8

MINDFULNESS

I am mindful of the presence of God within and all about me.

Mindfulness is a spiritual practice that leads to a richer life experience. It infuses ordinary activities with love and joy. When I am mindful of my relationships, I become fully present with my loved ones, listening with love and sharing from my heart. When I am mindful of my physical well-being, I hold thoughts of health and wholeness. When I am mindful of my finances, I appreciate my prosperity and give thanks by sharing from my abundance.

When I am mindful of the presence of God within and all about me, I am more patient, loving and kind to myself and others. Mindful living allows me to enjoy all that life offers, one moment at a time.

For the Lord their God will be mindful of them and restore their fortunes. --Zephaniah 2:7

DIVINE ORDER

My life is unfolding in perfect order.

If I am feeling overwhelmed, I may have difficulty recognizing that divine order is at hand. I remind myself to release my need to know how things will work out and trust the Universe for right outcomes.

I turn to nature for an example. A soft caterpillar plods through countless hazards to find food. Over time, he wraps himself in a cocoon, transforms his body, and pushes himself through a tiny opening to stretch and fill out his new butterfly wings. Observing the process, I see why each phase is necessary. I see order in his unfoldment.

My evolution is even more complex and miraculous. With renewed calm and appreciation for the order present in all life, I continue on my path of transformation.

Put things in order ... and the God of love and peace will be with you.--2 Corinthians 13:11

GRACE

Through the grace of God, I am led to my highest good.

I am God's beloved child and the kingdom of God is my inheritance. I know this is the truth of who I am and that I am worthy of it--but at times, I may waiver in this certainty. God's grace is what brings me back. Grace allows me to remember the truth. It leads me home.

Whatever choices I have made, grace assures me I am still on the path to my highest good. God's love flows through me to bless and release me. I cannot fall from grace. I am spiritually secure, and my progress is steady and unimpeded. The grace of God shows me the way and reveals to me my next step. Even when I falter, I know I am moving forward. Through the grace of God, I am being led to my highest good.

I commend you to God and to the message of his grace.--Acts 20:32

ARTISAN

I am the artisan of my own life.

When God asked Moses to build the tabernacle, Moses was reassured that the people called to construct the building and its furnishings would be gifted with wisdom, understanding and knowledge. Most importantly, they would be filled with the Spirit of God.

God has blessed me with the talent to create and accomplish whatever I set my mind and heart to accomplish. If I am not happy with my current experiences, I become the artisan of my own life.

Remembering to honor my true essence, I reconnect with my indwelling gifts. I am a powerhouse of divine creative energy, leading to the fulfillment of my dreams. God has filled me with the Spirit.

I have put wisdom in the hearts of all who are gifted artisans.--Exodus 31:6 (NKJV)

COMFORT

I am in the presence of pure being. I am not alone.

I am not alone. I hold this thought in mind and feel comforted. The evidence of love begins to show. A ray of sunshine strikes a crystal and the rainbow of colors dances on my wall. A tiny bird comes near to sing its song just for me. In books and music, through the gentle touch and kindness of others, God speaks to me of love. What reassurance comes when I take time to listen for and experience that still small voice of God.

In the quiet place within my heart, I feel God's loving presence. No burden is mine to carry alone. With each breath I draw upon the infinite strength and peace of the Divine. I gently release any sorrow or worry weighing me down. Enfolded in the embrace of sweet Spirit I know that I am not alone.

Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me.--John 16:32

GRATITUDE

I am grateful for everyone and everything.

As I awake, I take a deep, body-filling breath in and out. With each breath, I express love and gratitude for the new day and the many opportunities that await me. Gratitude and praise open the way for greater joy and richer life experiences.

Appreciation fills me with vitality and enthusiasm. I feel renewed and filled with life's energy. My heart is open and receptive to new experiences, knowing that whatever comes my way, I will see and feel the good in it.

As I go about the activities of my day, I feel myself swaying with the rhythm of love and gratitude. I audibly say, "Thank you!" as if the whole world could hear it, and I imagine it responding back to me, "You are welcome!"

PRAY FOR OTHERS

I see the Christ in each person who touches my life.

In life we can experience challenging circumstances. In prayer, I look beyond temporary conditions to see the perfection in whatever may be happening and to behold the Christ within each person.

All people have within them the sacred presence that Jesus demonstrated. This is the Christ Presence. I pray in the awareness of the Christ in me honoring the Christ in another. Whether at the store, on the phone, at work or in traffic--each interaction I have is an invitation for me to bless those I encounter.

As I think of others, I enfold them in love. Living from the love, joy and peace in me, I bless and share these gifts with others.

I pray that ... Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.--Ephesians 3:16, 17

EARTH BLESSINGS

I am rich in the wonders of the Earth.

In nature, I am reminded of God's wonder. I feel a commitment and desire to do all I can to sustain the health of Mother Earth. From a place of stewardship and love, I know I can effect change.

Each day, I am grateful for the ways my life is enriched by the earth. Through my actions, I honor and respect her. Every time I nurture and love myself and others, I extend the same love and support to Mother Earth.

Her ability to survive and thrive is apparent as I lovingly work the soil or sink my feet into the sand. The pulsating energy of Spirit is alive in her. I am comforted by that knowledge. In awareness of her splendor, I silently express joy and thanks to God.

Then God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind...." And it was so.-Genesis 1:11

SURRENDER

I surrender to Spirit and find rest for my soul.

When I am experiencing darkness or difficulty, my belief in the power and love of Spirit brings me comfort and direction. In the face of any challenge, I am never alone. I remember there is value and promise even in the toughest times. During hardship or heartache, I become truly teachable. In the transition from darkness to light, I gain new understanding about myself and about life. I find the strength and resilience to go on.

Resurrection follows a crucifixion experience; a magnificent rebirth follows uncertain or demanding times. As I surrender to Spirit, I am enfolded in love and peace. I am ready to rise to all life has to offer.

Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Having said this, he breathed his last.--Luke 23:46

COMMANDMENT

I act lovingly toward others.

Before the Last Supper, Jesus washed his disciples' feet as a demonstration of love and humility. As he did, he commanded them to love one another. As I think about Jesus' words, I consider the ways in which I express love to others.

There are many types of love: the love of a parent for a child and of family members for one another; the love experienced in friendship and companionship; the love expressed in sharing ideas and beliefs.

Considering Jesus' commandment, I make a new commitment to actively express love toward others. I look for opportunities to give and receive love, knowing that I am putting into motion the truth that Jesus shared--that love is the greatest power of all.

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you.--John 13:34

DIRECTION

Wherever I choose to go, the spirit of God guides me safely home.

Traveling into unfamiliar territory, I look for landmarks to help me find my way back. I may take note of a school, a farmhouse or a lake to mark my path. On my return, seeing those landmarks brings me comfort and peace. I am assured that I will find my way home again.

Similarly, when I am in an unfamiliar situation--perhaps facing a new challenge or opportunity in a job or relationship--I look for spiritual landmarks. These come my way as a sense of serendipity or a familiar feeling of confidence, clarity or peace.

The spirit of God provides my route and guides my course of action. Wherever I go, I am confident that God will guide me home.

The Lord went in front of them in a pillar of cloud by day, to lead them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light.--Exodus 13:21

CELEBRATE

I celebrate the light of God within me and everyone.

The Bible story of God's people securing their freedom from bondage in Egypt reflects my own road to freedom from limiting ideas. In the past, I may have held limiting thoughts about myself and the world. Just as the Hebrew people followed the light of God and celebrated their new life, I celebrate mine.

With an awareness of God's light, I view my life unfolding just as it should. Every success and even seeming missteps are celebrated. Inspired by the light of God, I celebrate my ability to learn, grow and conceive new thoughts and ideas, which will enable me to be a blessing to myself, my family and all humanity.

I will cause your name to be celebrated in all generations. --Psalm 45:17

HEALING

I am renewed by the healing power of God.

Spring rains bring relief from the harshness of winter. Under their gentle caress, the earth returns to its lushness, the fog of winter is washed away and signs of new life appear.

My time in meditation is like the healing rains of spring. As I open my heart to the grace of God, I am renewed. In God's loving presence, I feel restored. My fears dissolve, my needs are met and my soul is refreshed. Hope, health and well-being blossom within me.

The healing power of God is eternal. Though darkness may at times seem to obscure it, the quiet of prayer washes away any doubt. The life of God enlivens my being. I am whole and well.

It will be a healing for your flesh and a refreshment for your body. --Proverbs 3:8

WORLD PEACE

I share the peace in my heart with the world.

I care deeply about the world and everyone in it, and though I may feel a yearning to help others, I do not always know how. Because events around the world can seem distant and separate from me, my first response occurs within my own awareness.

When I see images or hear reports of discord, I take the situation into prayer. I hold thoughts of peace, and I visualize peace prevailing within every heart and mind. I resolve to speak in peaceful ways and share the potential for peace with others.

Through prayer, I allow God to heal me of any fear or sense of separation. I realize my oneness with others. Peace is alive in my heart, and this makes a difference in the world.

The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. --Numbers 6:26

PROSPERITY

I give thanks that I am now and forever one with Source.

God is the inexhaustible Source of all good. Divine currency circulates in the flow of inspiration, divine ideas, creativity and courage to take action.

If I have a concern about my finances, I pray for light and understanding, for new and fulfilling ideas. True wealth is a state of consciousness. My good is already present, in me and all around me. I need only say "yes" to it!

In the midst of any circumstance, I have the power to receive. I affirm my unity with God and my oneness with all that I need or desire. I give thanks that I am now and forever one with my Source, that I am now and forever in touch with the free-flowing stream of divine ideas.

And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.--Philippians 4:19

GUIDANCE

In the quiet, I am aware of divine possibilities.

Whether I call it intuition or insight, inner knowing emanates from the spirit of God within me. I know the right action to take and when to take no action at all as I remain open to Spirit for guidance and illumination.

Clearing my mind of any uncertainty about what I can do, I open myself to what God's Presence can do through me. In quiet times of prayer, I receive divinely inspired direction. Free of any doubt or fear, I let divine possibilities flow into my conscious awareness.

Through prayer and meditation, I become attentive to the still small voice of intuition, the "inner teaching" of Spirit. I know when to speak and act and when to be still.

After he had dismissed the crowds, he went up the mountain by himself to pray.--Matthew 14:23

GRACE

There is no place that is beyond God's love.

As part of God's creation, I am blessed with the gift of grace. Grace is bestowed upon me unconditionally, without my needing to earn it or prove I deserve it. Like the father rushing to meet his returning prodigal son, God meets me when I seek the kingdom. Moreover, grace is active in me even when I am not consciously seeking, for there is no place in mind or heart that is beyond God's love.

Grace is visible in my life when the consequences of a mistake are gentler than they might have been. Grace is tangible when I feel blessed beyond all imagining. Love wells up within my heart until I feel the full impact of God's presence.

Thank you, God, for your gift of grace. I know I am always in your loving care.

If a situation arises where my freedom seems limited, I look more deeply. Nothing and no one can hold me in bondage. I am only limited by limited thinking. 

A consciousness of freedom 

delivers me from all self-imposed restrictions.

FRESH START

This day is a new beginning for me, and I embrace it with enthusiasm!

No matter what has happened in the past--no matter what crisis or disappointment occurred one moment ago or a day, a year or a decade ago--I can make a fresh start today.

I begin by letting all thoughts and beliefs that do not contribute to the well-being of myself or my loved ones fall away. With a fresh start, I embrace all that enriches me in mind, body and spirit. Aware of my Creator, and aware of myself as a creation of God, I see myself and all others in the light of divine love. This love blesses my relationships and activities. With Spirit guiding and inspiring me, I am on my way to a new life that is waiting for me.

So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!--2 Corinthians 5:17

STILLNESS

I am renewed in the stillness between thoughts.

When I enter into meditation, I may find my thoughts tumbling and stumbling over one another in an attempt to be recognized. The most refreshing moments in meditation are those moments of silence--the serene space of stillness in between thoughts.

To create that space, I acknowledge and recognize each thought, but I do not dwell on my thoughts. I gently release them or set them aside. I honor the healing space between thoughts, the stillness which renews and energizes me. Gradually, that space widens and I go deeper into the silence where I am in communion with the essence of my being, the Spirit within.

For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. --Psalm 62:5

DIVINE ORDER

There is divine order in the activity of Spirit in my life.

In good mystery stories, we cannot predict the ending, yet we know there will be resolution. Affirming divine order in my life, I am at peace with the mystery of how my good will unfold.

When there is an unexpected challenge, I keep my mind centered on God as the Source of my healing, my peace and my abundance. I expect good to be revealed even if I cannot see it now. I am grateful for the everyday angels who help me and for the surprising channels of good that flow through my life.

Trusting in the divine order that unfolds when I keep my focus on God, I am confident that each day is a step on the path to my highest good.

Righteousness will go before him, and will make a path for his steps. --Psalm 85:13

FAITH I am strong, positive and powerful. Every person has a purpose. I may discover mine when I am troubled by a situation and feel called to be part of the solution. The path may not be perfectly clear; I may not know what action to take. Nevertheless, I begin right where I am. I trust my inner wisdom to show me the way. Rather than worry about making a mistake, I pray and take one small step. I trust that God will place a lamp before my feet, guiding me as I go. As I give of myself in sacred service, everything I need is provided. I joyfully do what is mine to do. My faith grows even deeper as I give from my abundance. Joy is within and all about me.

I want to live in joy. So rather than depend on something or someone to change so that I can be joyful, I choose to be joyful right now!

Speaking words that are uplifting, I share my joy with others. I greet them with a warm smile and kind words. Joy increases as I give from the limitless wellspring within me. The positive energy that flows from me is multiplied as others, in turn, bless and encourage those with whom they connect.

Joy is my very nature because my heart is full of the spirit of God. By choosing to focus on the positive aspects of every person and situation, I feel the joy of God that is within me and all around me. As I share joy, my own joy is complete.

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice. -Psalm 32:11

FIRST STEPS

Ready to take on this day, I claim the abundant life I was created to live!

Children taking their first steps teach us an important lesson: With confidence, drive and a strong desire to walk, these little ones push past their comfort zone and move forward.

I know that as a child of God, I can tap into my own adventurous nature and determination to do whatever is before me this day. I might be taking my first steps in physical or emotional recovery. I might be beginning a new relationship or renewing a previous one. I can do anything I set my heart on.

As I search my soul, I know that God provides me with whatever is needed to step forward. I confidently take on any challenge or adventure that leads me to claim the abundant life I was created to live.

God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance.--2 Corinthians 9:8

UNFOLDMENT

I claim God's good for me, and I bring my dreams to fruition.

Right now, I am perfectly poised to apply my talents and experience in new ways. I am blossoming, becoming the person I am meant to be. This is my time to stretch, grow and create the life I want. Regardless of my age or circumstances, divine power and potential are within me. I boldly move forward to accomplish lifelong aspirations.

Perhaps I have dreamt of writing a novel, traveling the world, creating a charitable foundation, mastering a new sport or playing a musical instrument. My destiny is mine to choose and mine to create. Now is the time to take action.

Like a flower stretching to the sun I reach out and open myself to God's good.

You may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.--Colossians 1:10

GRACE

With God, I co-create my world with grace and ease.

My tasks at home may range from picking up toys to caring for loved ones. My duties at work may vary from the trivial to the essential. No matter my day's activities, with God as my partner, I accomplish them all with grace and ease.

Relationships can present a challenge at times, but today, I speak directly and lovingly with grace and ease. Any rifts of the past or concerns about the future diminish in importance as I hold positive expectations for the interactions of this day.

Every decision, every choice, every relationship brings a gift or opportunity. I gratefully accept each one. With God as my partner, I co-create my world with grace and ease.

Grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. --Psalm 45:2

BE STILL

I am comforted in the silence, knowing that all is well.

If I am feeling burdened by life's circumstances, I choose to become still. Turning inward, I affirm God's presence in me and all around me. While it may be easy to see divinity in a serene sunset or a newborn baby, I know that God is present in the difficult experiences of life also. Through stillness and silence, I become present to the Divine in me. I know that all is well.

When the mind and heart are still--when I no longer allow my thoughts to rest on external concerns--God is revealed. As I release my needs to God, I am comforted. I am led out of turmoil into peace.

As my worries transform into peace of mind, I become a sanctuary for others. My influence is calming and comforting.

ANSWERED PRAYER

I nourish my soul in prayer.

What happens after I pray? There are times when I seem to be waiting for something to happen when all the while the "happening" is in progress. When I pray for myself or another, I may not see evidence of healing right away; yet a healing is taking place.

As I pray and go about my day, I keep my faith strong even though I perceive no evidence of improvement in my or another's condition or circumstance. I continue to affirm the truth of innate wholeness, and my mind is at peace.

Quietly aware of the Presence of God, I have a thankful heart that is receptive to good. I receive confirmation that God is active in all and the goodness of God is for all.

And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior."--Luke 1:46-47

HARMONY

I am one in Spirit with all people.

We are all connected by an invisible thread of Spirit that binds us as children of God. As we sing in a popular hymn: "We are one in the spirit, we are one in the Lord." If I am feeling out of harmony with the people in my life or perceive injustice or unfairness in the situations around me, I remember that we are all one in the spirit of God.

Looking beyond outer differences, I remember I am spiritually connected to every individual--from my neighbors, family and friends, to people of all nations around the world. I focus on the values that bind us together--such as harmony, cooperation and love. We are one in the spirit of God and the Spirit transcends any differences.

You are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind.--Philippians 1:27

RIGHT RELATIONSHIP

My divine nature guides my relationships into perfect alignment.

Many people wonder how to find their "special someone" or how to improve their current relationships. Before seeking someone or something outside myself, I first turn within to Spirit.

When Spirit takes priority in my life--guiding my thoughts and actions--all my relationships come into spiritual alignment. My oneness with Spirit gives me unparalleled security and joy. I relax in the silence of prayer and replenish my energy and my capacity to give. This positively impacts my partner, my children and my co-workers--as it positively impacts me. As I turn within to Spirit, I experience divine love. This love draws me to the right people and blesses every relationship in my life.

I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love.--Colossians 2:2

HEALING

I am a living expression of God's perfection.

When the skin is cut or bruised, healing begins in the tissues under the surface long before signs of repair appear on the skin. An injury is a call to clean and protect a vulnerable area so that deep healing can occur. In the same way, a health challenge reminds me to clear away thoughts that interfere with claiming my wholeness. When I see myself as the perfect creation of God that I am, it is like cleaning a wound.

I am the living expression of God's perfect idea. Healing begins within me as my thoughts, mind and heart begin to heal. I believe in my body expressing invigorating health and abundant energy, and the wholeness that I am surfaces.

Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, "Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well." And instantly the woman was made well.--Matthew 9:22

PROTECTED

I am strengthened by my foundation of faith.

Even in the midst of a storm, I know God is with me. I affirm, "I am never alone. I am fully protected. I am safe." My faith is strong, because of the foundation I have laid.

When winds were calm, I strengthened my faith with prayer, gratitude and meditation. Like a builder, I laid a foundation of faith deep within myself--and then I built on it.

Putting God's truth into practice daily has strengthened my faith. When a storm or crisis hits, I have an inner knowing that all is well. I have experienced God's loving and peaceful presence. God is with me, and I am always protected.

That one is like a man building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when a flood arose, the river burst against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well built.--Luke 6:48

WORLD PEACE The spirit of God moves through all people to manifest peace on earth. The media often report unrest and distress throughout the world. I can choose to believe there is no resolution to the world's problems, or I can choose to know the truth that God--at the heart of each person--is a power for peace. As I know this for myself, I also know it for all people throughout the world. I envision the peace of God reaching into the world's farthest corners, showing the way to peace and acceptance. The power of God is greater than any human weakness, pride or prejudice. I have faith that every heart is open to receiving God's love and every mind is open to God's wisdom and understanding. The dawn from on high will break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness ..., to guide our feet into the way of peace. --Luke 1:78-79

LET GO, LET GOD

I let go and trust the indwelling Spirit to bless and fulfill me.

The wisdom of God is within me. With divine wisdom, I have the power to make wise and right judgments. I let go of that which no longer serves me and treasure the blessings that fill my life with good.

I embrace supportive people, inspiring places and productive ideas. I let go of thoughts, beliefs and situations that are not in my best interest, that tear down rather than uplift.

I release any perceived power I may have given to people or situations outside me. As I pray, I rejoice in the truth that God is my indwelling power. I let go and trust God to bless and fulfill my life. My mind, heart and life are guided by the wisdom of God and filled with abundant treasures.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.--Matthew 6:21

INNER PEACE

I am centered in the peace of God.

Even though I know the peace of God lies within me, there are times when I am drawn away from that peace. Perhaps I feel challenged by life's circumstances or overwhelmed by my responsibilities. If I wish to return to the peace of God, I needn't go looking for it outside myself. I need only take a moment to remember.

Jesus went apart from his followers to pray and center himself. Going apart can simply mean changing my thinking. I quiet my mind and feel the calmness of Spirit. I rest in the silence for a moment. When my thoughts return, I allow gratitude and appreciation to fill my mind and heart, reconnecting me with God's peace at the center of my being.

He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm.--Mark 4:39

DIVINE ORDER

I align with Divine Mind and live in harmony with divine order.

During a busy day, my thoughts may seem scattered. I may be tempted to put more faith in what I perceive around me than I do in the kingdom of God within me. When confronted with inner distractions and outer influences, I focus my attention on the present moment and allow Divine Intelligence to rule.

No longer do my thoughts run to and fro. In alignment with Divine Mind, my thinking is ordered and clear. Because I seek first the kingdom of God, all else follows in divine order. My thoughts are inspired. I feel a sense of joy and ease as outer things fall effortlessly into place. Guided by Divine Mind, my outer life reflects the divine order within.

When a land rebels it has many rulers; but with an intelligent ruler there is lasting order. --Proverbs 28:2

FORGIVE

Each time I forgive, my heart opens.

Opening my heart to love, I find the strength to forgive. In some circumstances, I may find forgiveness nearly impossible. Holding on to feelings of resentment or judgment may feel safer. I may want people to change before I forgive them. But there is another answer: Allowing the indwelling Christ Spirit to open my heart to love.

Through the power of Christ in me, I have the strength to release the weight of unforgiveness. Christ love is stronger than any perceived injury or harm. Another person's unkindness toward me has no power to hurt me. To forgive is to love, and to love is to let the Christ Spirit heal my heart and my life.

Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.--Mark 11:25

NEW BEGINNING

Supported by Spirit, I begin anew!

Each moment of my life has the potential to be a new beginning. There are fresh choices to make, new ideas to adopt, new hopes to enliven. My life is under my authority, and I use this power to create the life I choose. At the start of any new venture, I may worry that it will be too hard or wonder whether I will know what to do. How I choose to respond to these worries is up to me.

I choose peace; I choose faith; I choose support from family and friends. I know that I am the very essence of the living, loving God within me. The indwelling Spirit supports and encourages me to take the next right step. It might just be the start of the most satisfying time of my life!

Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border...." And God granted what he asked.--1 Chronicles 4:10

Friday, March 11, 2011 GUIDANCE Divine guidance gives me clear direction. At times I may feel unsure and in need of clarity and guidance. Perhaps I have an important decision in front of me, and I need to discern my next steps. Wherever I am, God is, so I know there is clear direction available. I open my "spiritual ears" and listen. Guidance comes in clear and unmistakable ways. A divine idea, a new perspective or even a seeming coincidence may lead the way. When I seek inner guidance, I open my mind and heart to Spirit. I act on the divine direction I receive, which leaves me feeling relieved, confident and more aware of my Inner Guide. I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. --Psalm 32:8

RELEASE

My thoughts are lifted up, and my life is renewed.

The ashes used in many traditions for Ash Wednesday come from burning the prior year's palms. In the same way, I release old habits and thoughts as I prepare for the arising of new life in me. Today I pray:

"Lord, help me walk a path of renewal. I lift up my old life for purification, confident a new life rises from those ashes. I release every limitation I believe is true about my worth and power, my beauty and creativity. I sweep away every debt I believe anyone owes me. I cast off every condemnation I carry. I pray with an open heart, releasing limits, pain and false beliefs with ease. I accept new wisdom, understanding and peace with grace. For the gifts of my journey of purification and renewal, I am grateful. Amen."

GOOD

God is all, and God is good.

God's good flows without effort. It is ever present. When I open to that goodness, I feel the love of Spirit. I observe it in all I encounter.

As I become present to and aware of the goodness of God, I begin to see the world through the lens of Spirit. By shifting my focus from scarcity to abundance, I choose a new perception of the world. Staying centered in my good--the imprint of Spirit on my being--I easily see the goodness in others. I witness the presence of God's overflowing good, evident each day in the kindness of a stranger, in the ability to forgive, in the act of loving one another. God's good fills me with love and blesses my life. Love radiates from me. Peace and joy are mine.

The light of God guides my way.

Light in the outer world changes and shifts. A cloudy day appears dim; a moonless night appears dark. But within my own soul, the light of God is eternal. There is no darkness in the presence of God's light. Divine light illuminates my thoughts, revealing guidance when I am uncertain and understanding when I am confused. In the light of God, I find ways to forgive and new ways to serve my beloved community.

My illumination may come slowly or in a flash; yet the light of God is full and complete. What I could not see before is now clear. What I could not know is now certain. I go forward in confidence knowing the light of God guides my way.

Indeed, you are my lamp, O Lord, the Lord lightens my darkness. --2 Samuel 22:29

The grace of God has prepared for me a life that is good.
The grace of God is not something that must be earned by sacrifice or penance. It is a free and impartial gift from God that no one can escape

The grace of God is more than mercy. It is complete forgiveness and full, unbounded love. It offers redemption from thoughts of lack and limitation to every person who will accept it. Grace reveals the true nature of God's presence within us and quickens in us a realization of our innate divinity.

Abiding under divine grace, I am spiritually secure. My steady, unimpeded progress toward the fullness of life and all good is assured. The grace of God opens to me the swift and glorious way of Truth.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.--Ephesians 2:8

I am a joyful expression of Spirit.

I was created in joy. At the moment of my creation, the Universe sang a new song, and I am that joyous refrain. Each of us is a unique expression of one Spirit, a delightfully different

outpouring of God's creativity.
I begin the day in prayer, connecting with the pure joy of my being. During the day, joy bubbles up through me in laughter, compassion, gratitude and a sense of well-being. I share my joy for I know that Spirit has chosen me to be a joyful presence in the world. Joy is testimony of the living, loving Christ Presence in my life.

However the day unfolds, at night I turn once more in prayer and thank God for the opportunities to be and experience joy.

Oceans of spiritual substance flow into my mind, and I see prosperity everywhere.Knowing that the very substance of God-Mind underlies every good thought, I keep my mind open and receptive to divine ideas. No thought or appearance of lack can linger where God is recognized as supply. Therefore I keep my thoughts uplifted.

I realize that I cannot help a single soul by seeing a world suffering from injustice, cruelty and lack. Therefore I see with the eye of faith the good that God provides. By faith I see plenty and prosperity in every circumstance. I see hearts, homes and nations enriched and blessed by the presence of God.

I have faith in God as my Support and Supply. As a child of God, I am rich--rich in consciousness, active in service, sustained in all goodness, substance and satisfaction.

God, our God, has blessed us.--Psalm 67:6

I am conscious of divine direction and follow its guidance.
Many thoughts float across my mind each day. I may have difficulty discerning what is right for me to do in any particular situation. Stepping aside for a moment of silence, I rest my awareness on the wisdom of my soul.

In the silence, the chatter of my thoughts begins to fade. Error thoughts have no power. In the silence there is clarity and I am conscious of divine direction, revealing the next step for me to take.
Whether the path ahead appears easy or challenging, I trust everything needed has been and will be provided. I walk a spiritual path of unfolding good, and in faith, I am guided each step of the way.

When you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."--Isaiah 30:21

I freely express love and compassion.
The story of St. Valentine performing marriage ceremonies, even when it was forbidden by the authorities, is a reminder to me: We are called to express the love of God in this world regardless of appearances. We are called to be God's love in action.

This Valentine's Day, whether I make plans with my sweetheart, reminisce with a lifelong friend, or encourage someone through a difficult time, I bring the love of God to life through my thoughts, words and actions.

The love I express is reflected back to me in great measure. Expressing empathy, listening deeply to another, being compassionate--these acts invite love to grow. I am God's love in action.

God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.--Romans 5:5

Today is a Divine Order day. Seeing the symmetry of the world around me, I am reminded of the symmetry of mind, idea and expression that allows me to co-create my world in wonderful ways.

I affirm and give thanks for ideas that come to me. I build on these ideas to manifest abundance. Each idea, backed by action, brings fruit in its season--results that bless me and others. I am grateful for every blessing.

Today is a Divine Order day! Wholeness and serenity are my nature, and I speak words and take actions that promote healing, harmony, goodwill and joy. I surrender any need for a specific outcome and celebrate this Divine Order day!

I am filled with the love of God and live in harmony with all humankind.
When I am in harmony with myself, I am attuned to the spirit of God. I am aware of my connection to higher consciousness, and I face challenges with a positive attitude.

To maintain this inner harmony, I practice prayer and keep a conscious connection to Source. Maintaining my own internal harmony allows me to reach out to others with kindness and understanding. I develop compassion and create connections with those around me.

I rest under the cover of divine protection.
A small child sleeps well under the cover of a favorite blanket. In a similar way, I rest in the awareness that God has got me covered. Trusting that God in me is greater than the world around me, I enfold myself in thoughts of God's continual presence.

I claim divine protection from my own fearful thoughts, setting them aside the moment they reach my awareness. Moment by moment, tensions melt away. Feelings of calm and comfort flow through my heart, and a gentle song of joy rises up within me. In the early morning, throughout the day, and as I prepare for sleep, my thoughts stay on God. With deepest gratitude, I rest under the cover of divine protection.

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy.--Psalm 5:11

I am aligned with my highest good.
Noticing what appear to be happy coincidences, I find that I am in the right place at the right time with the right people. I am part of the divine flow of life. These effortless points of connection are blessings that indicate I am aligned with my highest good.

As I learn to relax into the flow, I experience more and more moments of spiritual synchronicity. A needed business connection may take place as I stand in line for coffee. A long-lost friend might suddenly re-enter my life. Any number of amazing possibilities await. In alignment with the divine flow of life, I am in harmony with Spirit.

I set my imagination free, and I prosper!
Some beliefs create roadblocks to the infinite good that awaits me. By imagining myself free of limitations, I can achieve great things. I am gifted with the power of imagination--a God-given faculty to see beyond what is apparent in the present moment. Imagination allows me to dream, set goals and grow. Whether I am seeking greater financial, emotional or spiritual abundance, I open myself to Infinite Good--to God. I break down any barriers I have erected and set a course for success.

As my understanding increases, I have greater insight and direction. I am motivated to follow the path before me that leads to greater good. There are no limits; I set my imagination free, and I prosper!

God is active in me now. I am whole and well.
Another day has come for me to live and let my light shine. With every breath, the healing power of God moves in me. Regardless of any appearance of disease or disorder, the truth remains: Illness has no lasting power. Health is my true nature.

Every cell of my body responds to my love and appreciation. Divine intelligence directs the healing process. With every heartbeat, light, love and wholeness fill my mind and body. I now claim my total well-being.

In gratitude, I am assured that every organ functions in accordance with God's perfect design. I am assured that health and wholeness are expressing in, through and as me now.

If then your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays.--Luke 11:36

I choose to look at life in a positive, new way.
My attitude has a powerful influence on my daily life. It affects my relationships and the outcomes I experience. I choose to embrace this God-given day with a positive attitude.

Perhaps the most important thing about my attitude is my ability to manage it. I have power over my thoughts and actions. I can choose to hold a positive attitude rather than a negative one. I can choose to face the day with inner strength and confidence in my abilities. I can choose to hold life-affirming thoughts that lead me to my highest good.

Today I choose to have a positive attitude and look at my life in a new way. With this attitude, I receive bountiful blessings.

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.--Psalm 118:24

I treat myself with gentleness.
A newborn baby needs gentle and tender care--a soft hug, a soothing touch, a cozy blanket. A crying baby calms as his or her needs are met. As a child of God, I treat myself gently and tenderly. If I feel overwhelmed or anxious, I see myself as a tiny newborn or an innocent child, and I gently ask, "What do I need?"

Perhaps I need a short break, something to eat or a catnap. I may need a walk outside to stretch my legs, a conversation with a friend, or a few moments in the silence where I can feel God's gentle presence enfolding me.

Taking time to be gentle with myself shows that I value myself. I am a precious child of God, worthy of love and care.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.--Matthew 11:29

As I know peace within my heart, peace prevails in my world.
Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me. These words remind me of where to begin when I pray for world peace--within myself.

When I pray, I am making a difference. My thoughts and prayers have the power to affect me and those around me in positive ways. As I affirm peace, I feel peaceful in mind and heart and I express that peace to others. My expressions of peace create a chain reaction that travels from one person to another, opening minds and hearts to the blessing of love, compassion and understanding--attitudes that help create peace in the world.

Today I do my part in establishing world peace by holding positive thoughts and expressing the indwelling peace of God.

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.--John 9:5

Centered in Spirit, I am free.
In the midst of a health challenge or a troubled relationship, I may feel limited, burdened or out of control. These situations, however, give me a chance to consider another way.

When I remain centered in Truth, the love of Spirit flows through me, healing my body, easing my mind, and quieting my heart. I do not focus on "can't," "shouldn't" or "won't." Through the lens of Truth, I see possibilities; limitations fall away.

What I previously viewed as lack or impossibility no longer seems so. I am free to make choices and decisions that support my highest good. I soar, unencumbered by fear, worry, doubt or regret. I am free. Joy fills my soul and blesses my heart.

You were called to freedom, brothers and sisters.--Galatians 5:13

My mind is clear; my heart is open. I am at peace.
When I sense that my thoughts are turbulent and unfocused, I am best served by closing my eyes and taking a few moments to catch my breath. With each deep breath, my thoughts begin to clear. I soak in the love and peace of God. I take in this moment of serenity. As my mind stills and calms, I ask for guidance and direction, and I experience the fog lifting.

With a clear mind and heart, I make myself available to divine guidance. I no longer strain to find the answers, but rather allow them to surface in my mind and heart. What I need to know comes clearly into my awareness. Peace settles in and wisdom is revealed. I know what direction to take, and I take it.

Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his presence continually.--1 Chronicles 16:11

I am comforted by the awareness of God's presence.
Like the comfort I feel from the warmth of a fire on a cold winter day, I feel comfort in allowing the peace and love of God to calm and comfort me. There is but one Presence, one Power and one Love. And that love lives in me. Life situations are temporary. The love of God is eternal.

I see the love of God revealed in myriad ways. I see it in nature as earth recovers and regenerates after a natural disaster. I find it revealed through the inspiration of sacred writings, poetry and song. I witness it in everyday acts of kindness and compassion.

No matter what I may be facing today, I am forever sustained by the love of God.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me.--Psalm 23:4

I have faith beyond all doubt.
If I feel unsure about the direction of my life, I take a deep breath, remembering that faith is my sure foundation. It is the basis upon which I build my life. When the winds of change are blowing and my future is unclear, I remember Jesus' words to his disciples: "If you have faith and do not doubt ... it will be done."

I stand on this promise, knowing that I have the strength of God within me. So I not only stand firm in the face of adversity, I move forward with confidence, trusting the faith that emanates from the core of my being to guide, support and encourage me. I am a messenger of God's love and an emissary for the power of faith. All things are possible.

If you have faith and do not doubt ... even if you say to this mountain, "Be lifted up and thrown into the sea," it will be done.--Matthew 21:21

I am blessed by the people in my life.
I interact with many people each day, from friends, family and co-workers to sales people, fellow drivers and passersby. While some relationships may not seem especially significant, they provide opportunities for me to positively impact the lives of others.

I might be the only one to show another person kindness or consideration today. A simple caring gesture or acknowledgment can bring light to their day. I choose my words carefully and let my connection with others be a blessing in their lives and mine. We all share this life experience together.

Through my relationship with others, I also nurture my relationship with God. Because God is in all, I choose to see God in all people.

So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all.--Galatians 6:10

Aligned with Divine Mind, I am strengthened.
The mind of God is the composite of all good thoughts. I am strengthened as I align my thoughts with Divine Mind. I begin with a time of prayer, acknowledging that God and I are one. I accept that all the strength I need is already within me.

If I notice an area of my life that does not appear to be working, I pause to examine my thoughts. Do they reflect the truth of God in me? Am I centered in Divine Presence? Gently correcting any misalignment, I feel the strength of God surge through me once more.

In faith, my mind is lifted to the realm of Divine Mind. From here I receive strength. It may come in the form of mental, physical and spiritual strength, and I rely on it to fill every need.

In quietness and in trust shall be your strength.--Isaiah 30:15

I see life from a spiritual perspective.
In some photographs, perspective influences the relationship between two objects. A person close to the camera may appear larger than a tree off in the distance.

When I face a difficulty, it may also seem out of proportion to the good in my life. Placing a challenge in proper perspective, however, I see that I have all I need to face the situation confidently. The spirit of God is powerful in me and is more than enough to overcome any circumstance.

My difficulties shrink in proportion to my faith in God. The more I trust in God, the greater my confidence. What seemed a great challenge diminishes as I see my life from a spiritual perspective.

So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone ... there was no sword in David's hand.--1 Samuel 17:50

Spirit guides my way. I know what to do and when to do it.
The spirit of God sustains my being, stirs my soul and speaks to me in quiet ways. Whenever I seek guidance about a decision, I prepare myself to receive direction by releasing any concerns or worry. I open myself to the peace of God and trust that the answers will come.

Inner guidance is revealed to me through my feelings and my awareness, and through information that flows to me without straining or striving. It comes in unmistakable, irresistible ways; it comes with an assurance I recognize and trust. Divine guidance comes with a feeling of peace, clarity and direction.

With Spirit guiding my way, I am free to live life with confidence. I know what to do and when to do it.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.--Galatians 5:25

My heart is peaceful as I let go and let God.
Worry may be a sign that I'm trying to manage what isn't mine. I ask myself, Is this my work or is it someone else's? If it's my work, I do it with joy. If it's not, I let it go. In a moment of revelation, it occurs to me that I can choose peace; I can let go and let God.

Setting aside any of my own frenzied efforts, I call upon the One Presence and Power. By putting my trust in God, my faith deepens and worry subsides. The same loving Power that created and sustains the universe sustains this situation now. God is with me and within me always--my present help in every need. Divine ideas and solutions now come forth with ease. My heart is peaceful as I let go and let God.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.--John 14:1

I proceed confidently in the direction of my dreams.
In my heart lives my personal dream. My heart sings and my eyes light up just thinking about it. If current circumstances are less than I desire, I declare this moment a turning point and turn to God in prayer. I envision myself with the freedom, resources and God-given abilities to achieve my goals. With God as my guide, I proceed confidently toward my dreams.

Reaching beyond myself, I imagine every person free to pursue and achieve his or her dreams. Our dreams come from God as does the help we need to achieve them. I pray that all people feel their direct connection to God and realize the potential for happiness inherent within them.

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.--Jeremiah 29:11

I forgive, and I am whole.
When even one sheep strays from the flock, the shepherd searches to bring it safely back. As a daily practice I search my thoughts to see if I have shut anyone outside my heart. If I discover one locked out in anger, resentment or hurt, I open my heart in forgiveness.

I allow the breath of God to breathe me. With each gentle breath, I am filled with love and peace. As I think of those I wish to forgive, I recognize in their reflection the same Spirit that is in me. At the level of spiritual knowing, I understand that we are all one in God. I release the judgments of my worldly thoughts and allow forgiveness to unite us in love. As I am one in the wholeness of God, so I am one with all others.

So there will be one flock, one shepherd.--John 10:16

I am living an abundant life now!
Living fully in the present moment, I make adjustments, changes and choices that enrich my life and prepare me for success. I am stress-free as I ease through my day, grateful for every experience and the blessing it holds.

Each moment that I am fully present to the spirit of God is a moment when I am conscious of divine intelligence and conscious of the ways in which I express my highest potential. I am learning from the Creator and realizing my dreams.

Living in the now, I am not inhibited by time. I let my present experiences flow as if they were taking me on a journey. Every turn offers me another amazing perspective on abundant living.

The spirit of joy sets me free.
Laughter is contagious. When I hear others laughing freely and wholeheartedly, I am pulled into the fun. Even in tender moments, I can find precious release in the joy of laughter and in the joy of the Holy Spirit in me.

Spirit within is my constant source of joy. At any moment I can tap into the joy of simply being alive and experience true happiness in my oneness with God. Whatever I am doing, the certainty of God's joyful presence is always with me.

I share joy by expressing it in all I do. Joyful experiences are created in my life and in the lives of others because I live from the joy in my heart.

For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.--Romans 14:17

In the silence of the Christ Presence within, I find peace.
My day is more peaceful when I spend time in meditation, contemplation and prayer. Closing my eyes, I turn within and gently disconnect from any concerns that might be weighing on my mind. I breathe into the peace of the Christ Presence within. My body and mind relax completely.

Affirming divine life, I know the wholeness of my true nature. Affirming divine substance, I know all good things are right here, right now. Affirming the light of Spirit, my guidance is assured. In this conscious awareness, I find peace. I abide in peace for long moments of silence, which energizes and prepares me for the rest of my day. Whatever is ahead for me today, I am calm and serene.

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.--Philippians 4:7

The light of God dawns in me today.
Each morning is a sacred opportunity to begin life anew. Before I rise, I spend a moment in appreciation of and reverence for life. The fact that I've awakened tells me that life has yet another opportunity for me.

I walk my chosen path of righteousness, which means right thinking and right understanding. This day, I choose to share my joy and shine my light brightly as the light and love of God dawn in me.

I also see a dawning of greater spiritual understanding for all people. Though we may be on different paths, we are all expressions of God. Because the love of God lives in me, I share this love with others unconditionally.

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.--Proverbs 4:18

My life-affirming thoughts of my loved ones are like silent prayers reaching out to bless them in positive ways. No matter what they are going through, I support them in prayer. Affirmations of Truth are the foundation of my prayers. The power released through affirmations establishes Truth in my consciousness.

Conscious of our oneness with God, I enter into the Presence in prayer. In this way, I embrace my loved ones, near and far. I hold each one tenderly in my heart and in my thoughts, affirming their good through the power of God.

I open my spiritual vision to divine order within and around me.
When I think of divine order, I am reminded of the exquisite order in nature. From the smallest atom to the tallest mountain, order is evident in nature, creating and supporting life, providing nourishment and shelter, and blessing all people with beauty.

The divine order evident in nature is also at work in my life. It presents opportunities for growth and renewal, introduces ideas and inspiration, provides guidance and protection. Divine order blesses me with all I need for a healthy, happy, productive life.

Right now, I open my spiritual vision to see divine order. I give thanks for the opportunities available to me. I know that the spirit of God is at work in me and all life.

I am gently supported by the grace of God.
Grace moves in and through my life. It is invisible and mysterious, yet ever present. In times of need I may resist inner guidance and find myself struggling to make progress. Whatever the need, when I turn within to the indwelling presence of God, I know that through grace, I will receive the answer.

Grace gently corrects my course and allows me to overcome any troubles. Even in the stormiest of times, I can be lifted above the gusty winds on a gentle current of air that carries me forward.

Grace is divine favor offered unconditionally. It is life-giving and ever present. The grace of God inspires, empowers and propels me toward my most heartfelt desires.

What do I truly love to do? What makes my spirit soar? Maybe it's dancing, singing or playing the guitar. Perhaps it's drawing, painting or woodworking. Whatever the activity, I set the intention to add it to my daily or weekly routine.

Creative expression lifts my spirit and energizes my life. As I allow my creativity to shine, I have a renewed zest for life. My mind and body are recharged and fully engaged as I tune in to the creative power of Spirit. I let this power radiate through me in new ways.

I enjoy rich and abundant living as I open to the continual flow of divine ideas that spring forth from within me.

I enter this new year with enthusiasm!
This is a new day at the start of a new year, and I choose a new way of being. I choose to be free of the limiting thoughts of the past and to not allow outworn habits or beliefs to control my life.

Perhaps I am guided to try something I have not tried before or go somewhere I've never been. If so, I open my mind to divine direction and guidance, and I accept these new experiences as loving gifts. I look for and find the blessings they bring--blessings of new relationships, hidden talents and the fullness of success.

I am excited about this new beginning. Through the presence of God in me, my life is brimming with unlimited possibilities for good.

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.--Psalm 40:3

As I reflect on the events of the past year, I recognize successes and failures, gains and losses. Each event has taught me something and made me wiser. Knowing this, I acknowledge and release the past year in gratitude.

In contemplation of the coming year, whether I am excited or apprehensive, I know the spirit of God will empower me to meet every situation with confidence and strength. With this in mind, I release any concerns I may have about the future.

Today I am ready to stand tall in this present moment. I appreciate the now, perfectly balanced between the blessings of the past and the promise of the future. This is the moment of power and action. I am ready!

The story of the Wise Men reminds me of the power of divine wisdom. Although I may not see a visible light in the night sky to guide my way as they did, I experience divine light within me each day, guiding my path and filling my soul.

Divine light illumines me, and through this light, I am assured of peace and success along my life's journey. Just as the Wise Men followed the star to the Christ child, I follow my star--my guiding light--to a greater spiritual awakening. I am assured that with divine light to guide me, my path is clear, my journey is blessed and I am at peace.

As I open my mind and heart to the wisdom of Spirit, I am led along a path of magnificence, joy and unending good.

My world is filled with divine abundance and unlimited potential.
The keys to the kingdom are available to us all. These are not hollow words; they are truth. Life is meant to be lived abundantly. Rather than focusing on lack, I acknowledge the ways in which I am blessed.

My relationships, my body, my bank account--all are healthy and strong. With each breath, I take in the richness of life, the richness of Spirit. My chest swells with love, my heart fills with gratitude and I see God's blessings. This is my spiritual inheritance. Abiding in God's love, I experience the kingdom--the sufficiency of all things and the abundance of every good.

The Christ within is God individualized in each one of us, the divinity that is our pattern for perfection. Jesus achieved perfection in his life, declared it also possible for everyone, and lived as an example for us to follow.

With the Christ Spirit as my inspiration and guidance, I am called to be a peacemaker. I maintain a peaceful perspective in my own mind and body through my prayers, my meditation and by loving and caring for myself. At peace within, I am a presence of peace.

I realize my oneness with and my love and respect for all of God's children. I acknowledge our commonality, appreciate our diversity and celebrate our shared divinity. Through the Christ within, I am inspired to right action for the good of all people.

On this Christmas morning, what can I offer the reborn Spirit of Christ within me? I can offer eyes that look for the goodness of God in all people. I can offer hands ready to serve in small and large ways. I can offer feet that will walk in the path of peace and light.

On this Christmas morning, I offer the Christ Spirit within me a mind willing to believe in eternal possibilities. I offer a voice that sings of faith, joy, love and oneness. I offer my cooperation in establishing the kingdom of heaven here on earth.



Celebrating today the birth of Jesus, I find in my heart a new willingness to believe that I can do my part in making Christmas not just one day in the year, but a way of living life.

In the sacred silence I find peace.
The Gospel of Luke tells the story of the baby Jesus, born and laid in a lowly manger. The stars stood still over the spot; a holy hush filled the air. At the moment of birth, the manger became a sacred place.

There is a sacred place within me that I discover whenever I behold the Christ of my being. I am made new each time I enter into the wonder of my creation as a beloved child of God. My thoughts are still and a sacred silence fills me. I am enfolded in the enduring love of the Creator. I am at peace.

I may enter my sacred place when I am alone or with dear ones. I may carry my sacred place to a quiet room or to a candlelit church. In the sacred silence, I find peace.

This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.--Luke 2:12

I relax, release and place my faith in God.
Sometimes I need a reminder that God is my help in every need. When I feel tense, concerned or fatigued by circumstances, it is a cue to change course. Perhaps I have been feeling I must handle everything immediately and by myself. From the depths of my being, I am nudged toward the awareness that there is a more peaceful path. My soul never forgets that I am one with Spirit.

As I relax, release and place my faith in God, I am directed to a wellspring of inner peace. I invite my mind to become still, my breathing to slow, my striving to cease. After a few moments of letting go and letting God, I welcome the flow of renewed energy and the reassurance that God is with me. With gratitude, I open to new ideas, restored confidence and unlimited resources.

Knowing I am divinely protected, I am at peace.
God guides, supports and protects me as I move through my day. When I face a challenge or uncertainty, I take a moment to look beyond what lies before me. I refrain from pondering all the "what ifs" and turn my thoughts to God. Through the very act of remembering the presence of God, I realize peace.
As I turn my attention away from the problem, I flip the switch that connects me to the One--a constant, bright, warm protective presence. Love wells up in me. I feel calm and serene. Circumstances come and go, but God's love dwells in me at all times, and in that love, I am safe and secure.
Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you. --Psalm 91:9-10

My heart is happy.
I start this day by filling my mind with constructive and optimistic thoughts. As a result, I start this day with a happy disposition, a happy heart.

I remember these words from Scripture: "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." As I do this, I leave no room in my mind or heart for unhappy thoughts or feelings.

As I start my day with a happy heart, my outlook is brighter, my walk is lighter, and my voice is sweeter. Love lights the way before me. My happy heart releases all tension, and I am at ease and at peace in mind and body.

Happy are those who trust in the Lord.--Proverbs 16:20

God's love gently heals all.
Just as a child in pain seeks the comforting lap of his mother or father, so I come to God in prayer if I am in need of healing. In the silence, I am reassured that I am God's beloved child, created in the image and likeness of the Divine. Even in dark moments, I am not afraid. I behold the light of the Christ Spirit within me and any fear is dispelled.

Throughout my body--every tissue, every muscle--I feel the healing energy of God. Like a tender touch easing any pain, God's healing love presses into every cell, infusing it with Life. I gratefully accept the love of God and the compassionate care of others, knowing that every loving gesture is a channel for divine healing.

He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. --Psalm 147:3

God's grace flows in and through me.
When we notice the poise in another, we may say, "She did that with such grace." Or, "He showed such grace in that situation." What we see in another is what is also present in ourselves through our connection with Spirit.

As I respond to a situation with compassion and understanding, I, too, am expressing God's grace. I am allowing the holiness within me to surface and to flow effortlessly from me. As I embrace adversity, remain strong under pressure or look for the good in a difficult situation, I am acknowledging that all is not as it appears. By experiencing all things with love, I draw forth the grace of Spirit. The gift of grace is powerful and strong. Grace is part of my being, and I am at peace.

Each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ's gift.--Ephesians 4:7

I give from the heart.
One of the most touching stories of the Christmas season is that of the "Little Drummer Boy." It is a reminder of the simple act of giving. In this story, the young boy gives of himself and his talent--he plays his drum for the baby Jesus. He shares all he has in a simple way and with a sharing spirit from the heart.

The simple things in life are often the most meaningful. Like the little drummer boy who gave of himself so beautifully, I can give of myself to others.

My gift need not be elaborate, but it is heart-centered and freely given. I offer the gift of my time, attention and talents--whatever they may be. As I do, a simple blessing is given and received.

For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.--Luke 6:38

My life is unfolding exactly as it should.
As I awaken to the Presence within me, I become aware of how my life is unfolding moment by moment in divine order. Each event is part of the whole and important to the divine direction of my life.

If I perceive a setback or a wrong turn, I consider my options. I can "go with the flow" and see what comes next or I can attempt to change course. I center my thoughts on Spirit and invite the faculties of wisdom and inspiration to guide me. I choose to trust my inner wisdom.

I give thanks for unexpected developments that awaken me to the Presence within. Each one brings me greater awareness of divine order in my life and in all I experience.

I share the power of prayer with my universal family.
As I pray for others, I experience the goodness of God. Holding thoughts of peace, love, wholeness or safety for another gives me peace. I experience firsthand the power of affirmative prayer.


I needn't know the details of the situation for which I pray. The One within me is within all people. I trust the Holy Spirit within to discern what another heart needs.

When I am facing a difficult situation, when I feel sad, or when I need to be reminded that I am not alone, I allow the prayers of my universal family to channel into my heart and soul.

Praying for others is one of the most powerful ways to love one another. I am blessed to be part of the family of God.

Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.--Matthew 21:22

I open my heart to the all-powerful love of God.
The love of God is a powerful force for good. Divine love mends differences, creates joy and opens hearts and lives to unlimited blessings.

Love is the foundation of all unity. Where love is, there can be no differences, separation or inharmony. Divine love allows us to hold to the truth that only good is at work and that only good prevails.

Love is "the fulfilling of the law," the assurance that there is something greater to experience, something more to enjoy. Love is magnetic. It draws to itself every good thing.

I am developing a love consciousness. I feel divine love at work within me now, causing me to see myself and others in the right light, the light of love.

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.--Romans 13:10

My faith in God sustains and uplifts me.
From time to time, the media cover disturbing local or global events. But my faith in God need not be shaken. I know God is there for me and for all members of the human race as a constant support and guide. Whatever the situation, God is directing us to our highest good.

My faith does not depend on outward conditions. Rather, my faith is grounded in the perfection of God. With faith-filled focus, my courage and peace are unshakable, no matter the situation.

God is present in everyone and everything. I trust that right outcomes are unfolding in divine order. My faith lifts my spirits, strengthens my resolve and fills my heart with love and expectancy.

As it is written, "The one who is righteous will live by faith."--Romans 1:17

I envision only the best for my life.
Just as a child imagines opening gifts on Christmas morning, my imagination is the springboard for creating my reality. As I imagine an activity, a goal being accomplished or a positive encounter with another person, I set the stage for results that bless me and bless others. My mind and my imagination help build the life of my dreams.

Since doubt and worry are a misuse of my power of imagination, I choose instead to expect the best from myself and from others. I envision life bringing good--all the good I need and enough to share. I live in a world of infinite possibilities. Visualizing a positive future prepares me to make those possibilities reality. Spurred by the power of my imagination, I make my dreams come true.

I live in full awareness of the presence of God.
In truth I know I am one with God, that I live and move and have my being in God. If I feel separated from this ever-present goodness and love, I examine my thoughts and feelings for resentments that may have become a burden, a barrier to freedom.

I ask the Holy Spirit within me to reveal what needs to be revealed, forgiven and released. I affirm my intention to forgive and ask for God's help: Dear God, I am willing to release feelings of hurt and anger and to live in full awareness of your presence.

Forgiving myself and others frees me to experience ongoing spiritual growth and fullness of life. Maintaining a consciousness of forgiveness, I strive to see everyone as a part of me and as a child of God.

Therefore I do my best always to have a clear conscience toward God and all people.--Acts 24:16

I give expression to the creative, healing power of Divine Love.
A heart capable of sadness is one capable of understanding and love. We find our way out of the emotional depths by giving expression to the creative, healing activity of divine love within.

There are many ways to turn sadness into creative activity--doing something helpful for another person, writing a poem, painting a picture, or giving time and effort to a worthy cause. By contributing something constructive to life, we sublimate our sadness and find peace in our hearts.

Often when we are stirred to great depths of feeling and emotion, we find that we are capable of greater understanding, that we are in tune with the heart of humanity.

I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow. --Jeremiah 31:13

With my mind on Spirit, I am calm and serene.
Profound inner peace is my heartfelt desire. In the silence of meditation, I feel the warm embrace of Spirit. My quiet thoughts become quieter still as I go to my inner sanctuary, a holy place within. I open my mind to the gentle presence of Spirit, and I experience a deep sense of calm.

With an air of expectancy, I think of a question, and then listen for divine inner wisdom. My thoughts are but tiny ripples, rising and falling away in the vast sea of inner calm.

As I listen with my heart, answers float to the surface. With the realization that as I ask, it is given, I have faith in the answers I receive. After meditation, my mind stays on Spirit as I carry a deep serenity and peace into my day.

Those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.--Romans 8:5

I am patient and positive as I rest in an awareness of God.
During this busy time of year, my schedule may be hectic and time may feel limited. I may struggle to feel patient and calm.

Patience is a quietness, a serenity within my heart and soul. It is a sense of peace in the midst of busyness and an assurance that everything is working as it should for me and those I love.

How do I become more patient? I turn to God. With God, I receive and achieve the patience I seek. If situations seem overwhelming, I turn to God and feel anxiety dissolve.

Any sense of hurry or concern is diminished. I am one with God, and God is guiding me each day, giving me the strength to act with ease and efficiency. Knowing that all is truly well, I am peaceful and patient.

Love is patient; love is kind.--1 Corinthians 13:4

The spirit of God breathes into me the breath of divine inspiration.
Divine inspiration makes my life an interesting, joyous experience. I fulfill my creative desires and live life abundantly when I let the breath of divine inspiration enter mind, soul and body.

The world is a creative place, an out-picturing of the creation of God. Whenever I am in tune with God, the things I do, the words I speak, the thoughts I think are creative, living and vital. I am led to find healing for my body. I am guided to let go of bad habits and form good ones.

Divine inspiration blesses me with spiritual growth. By opening my mind and heart to God, I go forward spiritually into new understanding, into a deeper realization of God's world.

The breath of the Almighty gives me life.--Job 33:4

I share the light of love, the light of God, with all.
The light of a single candle dispels the darkness in an entire room. Darkness has no separate existence, but is merely the absence of light.

Likewise, God is the One Presence; there is no other power apart from God. One lit candle, shared with another, and another, and another, can light up the world. I do not live in darkness, for I am free to choose and share the light of God.

Fireworks, fireflies, flashlights and flashes of insight--there are many different forms of light. Today I celebrate the light that shines within each soul.

As I open my heart and share the light that I am, I invite others to share their light as well. As I share the light of love, I share the light of God with others.

It is you who light my lamp; the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. --Psalm 18:28

I am infused with life-giving energy.
The healing power of Spirit works in and through me. Illness is not who I am, and I am not defined by a diagnosis. I am one with Spirit, and the life force of God is at work, both inside and outside of me.

I consciously open myself to receive God's life-giving energy in mind, body and spirit. During prayer and meditation, I visualize myself harnessing this energy. I see God's healing light lovingly infusing every cell, every organ of my body.

I deny anything that stands in the way of accepting God's healing light. I affirm that I am completely whole and healed. Reaching out to others, I ask for support and provide love and complete acceptance to those who need healing power.

All in the crowd were trying to touch him, for power came out from him and healed all of them.--Luke 6:19

I let Divine Love guide my thoughts,words and actions.
I may feel either excited or apprehensive about upcoming holiday gatherings. Whether I'm hosting a party myself or attending a family or work gathering, I wish to remain peaceful, centered and joy-filled.

Letting go and letting God is how I release any anxious feelings I may have. As I let go of concern and let Divine Love guide my thoughts, words and actions, I experience the presence of God in my activities and relationships.

I participate joyfully in all holiday gatherings because I am letting God express fully through me. My expectations and attitude are positive as I share love, appreciation and joy with others.

For the sake of my relatives and friends I will say, "Peace be within you." --Psalm 122:8

I am a positive, confident and assured creation of God.
Although I want to grow and improve various aspects of my life, I sometimes feel self-doubt creeping in. "Am I really strong enough, good enough, smart enough?"

At such times, I can consciously stop the negative talk in my mind and begin a new kind of conversation. I remember that I am a whole, shining, beloved child of God with unlimited potential. Nothing stops me but my own worries and fears. I have everything I need to succeed through the wisdom and power of God within me.

As I listen to the indwelling Spirit, I am re-energized with hope, courage and confidence. Inspired by divine possibilities, I am ready to progress in positive ways.

Jesus looked at them and said, "For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible."--Matthew 19:26

As I surrender my cares to God, I enjoy a time of rest and renewal.


Day-to-day worries, and the belief that we need to do everything by ourselves, can interfere with the ability to rest and enjoy a good night's sleep. So instead of giving in to worry, I give in to God.

I keep in mind that in order to give the best of me, I must take care of myself. When I love and care for myself, I am able to experience the peace of mind and body that leads to a good night of rest and renewal, and a more joyful and productive life.

Spirit created a world of order, one that requires and encourages time for rest as well as action. From now on, every time I am tempted to give in to worry, I choose instead to release it to God and rest.

I will both lie down and sleep in peace; for you alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety. --Psalm 4:8

Today I feel deepest gratitude.
When I consider the blessings in my life and the joy of my oneness with God, gratitude flows through me. My body is a temple of constantly renewing life. My mind is clear and bright. My abundance is from God, the source of all good.

This day offers a sacred opportunity to live in appreciation. Sowing seeds of love, I look for loving qualities in others. I nurture my own growth by accepting people as they are. I am grateful for everyone and everything, seeing the divine potential within every being and experience. I am growing into greater expression of my divine nature, and I feel deepest gratitude.

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! --Psalm 95:2

I am one with the family of God.


Each day, we interact with people moving through their individual experiences. Some are encountering joy and love; some are meeting with trial and tribulation.

But we all walk the path of life together. Whether we know each other or not, we are all members of one spiritual family, for we are all children of God and united in Spirit. As we support each other in prayer, our bond is strengthened.

Prayer has the power to unite us one to another. We experience this power right now as we pray for others and as we reach out with support and encouragement. Through the power of our unity, we walk the path of life as one.

Now concerning love of the brothers and sisters ... you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.--1 Thessalonians 4:9

Divine peace soothes my mind and heart.
At times, I feel the pull of life's circumstances. When I am immersed in a disagreement or drama, I may have difficulty remembering the stillness at my core. When I shift my focus and return to center, I am reminded of the deep peace within.

The love of God is my anchor. Nothing is required of me but to know that peace, love and harmony are found within.

As I rest in the stillness of the silence for a few moments, I allow the presence of God to arise in me. Peace soothes my mind and heart. When I return to face the situation at hand, I bring God's peace with me and experience its transformative qualities.

I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will bless them and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary among them forevermore.--Ezekiel 37:26

I am aware of the power of God within me.As I reflect on my life, I can see that each event has led me to a greater understanding of God. I see how one experience prepares me for another; there is divine order on my life's path. Every event and lesson has contributed to my understanding.

In close, loving relationships I discover the ways in which God's love shows itself to me. When a loved one passes, times of sorrow teach me that life and love are eternal. When I get up and try again, when I overcome challenges and succeed, I gain a new awareness of the power of God within me.

Whatever unfolds in my life today, I trust in divine order. A greater understanding of God is being revealed to me.

I release anything and everything that no longer serves my unfolding good.The grace of God frees me from old habits and error-thinking. In this freedom, I align my mind and open my heart to the Christ Presence within.

By quieting any unnecessary thoughts, I awaken to the present moment and am freed of fear, doubt and worry.

I release beliefs that no longer serve me and prepare the way for greater good. I carefully monitor my thoughts and actions, inviting all that is right and good to take root and grow in my consciousness.

All else--any negative thought, careless word or inappropriate action--I relinquish to the power and presence of God within me.

Through the power of elimination, I grow. Through growth I become more Christ-like. In my Christ-likeness, I am happy, strong and free.

I am at peace with the world around me.


Peace is always an option and today it is my choice. Peace guides my thoughts, responses, decisions and actions. There is nothing in the outer world to fear, for peace is my decision. What could possibly disturb the eternal peace of God that is the Source of my peace?

If I observe conflict, I remember to choose peace. Sending a prayer of peace to those in turmoil, I know peace is possible in every situation. I take a breath if the conflict involves me. In that breath, I recall that peace is my decision today.

Responding from my center of peace, I am calm and at ease as I move through the day. My words are kind, comforting and supportive. I am at peace with the world around me.

I will grant peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one shall make you afraid.--Leviticus 26:6

I embody radiant health and vitality.
The human body is complex and beautiful. Every cell, tissue and organ is a masterpiece of divine engineering.

During my daily activities, my body protects, repairs, regenerates and revitalizes. It is a gift, worthy of my love and care.

I stem any negative thoughts about my physical self and embrace a deep sense of gratitude for my body.

I see that my body is blessed with the power and strength of God. I praise and give thanks for the divine life flowing through me.

As I see my body for the miraculous vessel and vehicle that it is, I experience greater fitness and health. I think health. I talk health. I see health expressing. I am the embodiment of radiant health and vitality.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own?--1 Corinthians 6:19

I discern what is mine to do.
Decisions come easily in some situations, but seem harder in others. If I find myself becoming overwhelmed in considering all the factors, I step back, remembering that I need never make a decision alone; the spirit of God is with me. Logic is helpful, but inner guidance leads the way.

There is a special sense of "rightness" in a solution that makes nobody wrong. Perhaps I am guided to make amends with another person or forgive someone. I let go of the mind chatter of worry and doubt to remember that God is with me. When I follow the urgings of Spirit, I am led to act in the most loving and productive way. I discern God's will for me and know what is mine to do.

So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.--Galatians 6:9

I know the power of Spirit in me. I live free.
There is a power within me that does not depend on any outer circumstance. The power of Spirit, the Christ of my being, is fully present at all times.

Any limitation in my life is simply an illusion my mind creates when it gives power to a false belief. I now release any belief that a person or circumstance can block the flow of my good. I release any belief that I am less than a powerful expression of Spirit, capable of a mighty work. I release all negative beliefs about my body and mind.

I affirm there is only One Power and One Presence in my life and in the universe. I claim that power as the Christ of my being. I live free from any limiting beliefs. I am gloriously free.

For freedom Christ has set us free .... do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.--Galatians 5:1

I express God-love through simple kindness.
Being a vibrant creation of God-love, I bring love into every situation through kindness. Even the simplest act of kindness has the power to transform an unpleasant experience, making the world a better place.

Expressing kindness is a love-based partnership with God. Simply by smiling in a tense moment, I can change the experience of everyone involved. I can feed someone else's parking meter, leave a generous tip or bake cookies for a neighbor. There are countless ways to express the love of God that are simple yet powerful.

Throughout my day, I affrim through prayer the best for all people. This spiritual act of kindness blesses us all with God's love.

Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life and honor. --Proverbs 21:21

Divine love soothes and comforts me.


Many times I have experienced another's soothing presence. Perhaps I felt someone stroke my forehead to comfort me through illness.

Perhaps I rested in the arms of a loved one when I was overcome by sadness. Such tender care in the physical world is an outward manifestation of God's love.

Whenever I am afraid, whenever I am uncertain of my next step, I allow the spirit of God to comfort me. Wrapped in God's loving embrace, I know I will never be alone.

I breathe in that knowledge and settle into the depths of peace. The love of Spirit is unwavering. The embrace of God's love is all-encompassing. I am forever and in all ways in the care and comfort of God.

Let your steadfast love become my comfort according to your promise to your servant. --Psalm 119:76

I live my life in service to Spirit and to all humanity.
Many people have risked their lives in service to their countries, their communities, their families and all humanity. Those who have served have made our lives better, enhancing our security, well-being and peace.

As I contemplate their service, my heart is filled with gratitude. I pray a simple prayer that each one be blessed by Spirit. May every person who has served his or her nation enjoy a life enriched in return.

In serving others, we serve God. To give of ourselves--our time, energy, love and understanding--in joyous service to anyone in need is service that brings great happiness and satisfaction.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord.--1 Corinthians 12:4-5

I tune in to the wisdom of my being.


I enjoy being in harmony with myself and those around me. Yet sometimes I feel a bit off-center or ill at ease. What can I do to return to harmony?

When I feel tense, it is an invitation to listen. I am open to discovering the truth I need to restore myself to harmony.

As I consider alternative ways of responding to challenges in my life, I tune in to the wisdom of my being. I prayerfully consider my choices and listen to how my body responds to each possibility.

I notice when peace replaces tension. Then I know what to do and I take action. Returning to harmony within myself, I create vibrations of peace that resonate with those around me.

Speak the truth to one another, render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace.--Zechariah 8:16

I am at peace as I release the past and move forward.


Forgiveness is an act of release. Letting go of resentments from the past opens my heart to new experiences of joy.

Believing that I have been wronged leads to anger and resentment, but this belief does not serve me; it prevents me from being the person I want to be. I now choose to let those negative feelings go.

I realize true peace as I practice forgiveness. The slate is wiped clean and new life emerges--a life of freedom and inner peace.

Just as a leaf is gently carried away by the breeze, I release negativity and see it carried away by Spirit. As I release my resentment through forgiveness, I experience peace within.

Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other.--Colossians 3:13

Day by day I create a life of joy.


Like a master chef, I begin each day with an empty bowl. Whatever the "special of the day" turns out to be, I get to create it.

With God as my Source, I have everything I need. I reach for wisdom and compassion; imagination and zeal; strength and love; peace and change. I choose the ingredients of my day thoughtfully and prayerfully, co-creating with God. I add and take away in perfect measure, manifesting a life of joy day by day.

From morning to night my bowl fills. At the end of the day, I reflect on what I have created. I give thanks for the divine creativity flowing through me. I release what needs to be released and rest until tomorrow, when I will begin again with a fresh, new bowl.

Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.--James 3:13

Answering the call of Spirit, I move forward with purpose.
Some may think that the purpose of life is only to achieve material or financial success. This view, however, keeps us from achieving our full potential.

My world expands when my primary purpose is to express my spiritual self in all ways, to let more and more of the Christ shine through my being. I affirm that letting my light shine is my purpose. As I do, divine energy is activated within me. I have a zest for living. I am empowered, awake and responsive to Spirit's call.

The Christ Presence in me moves me to be a channel for good and to contribute to the well-being of others. As I do, I gain a deepened understanding of my own spiritual nature and gifts.

For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.--John 18:37

Divine substance overflows into my life.


Prosperity means many things to many people. To some, prosperity means employment, to others a home, to others more money in the bank.

These all signify prosperity, but prosperity is more than outer manifestations. Prosperity is the inner, underlying substance of God that permeates and penetrates all, the substance out of which all things are formed.

Material good is but evidence of the all-providing substance of God. Outer conditions come and go; they fluctuate and change, but the substance of God is enduring and unchanging. It can be depended on at all times, in all circumstances.

I am not anxious about my life, because my good is centered in God and I know my needs will be met.

All these things will be given to you.--Matthew 6:33

I trust my God-given inner wisdom.


Through my mind I have contact with the mighty wisdom and intelligence of God, which governs all things by perfect law. I needn't try to solve problems on my own. I trust my inner wisdom to reveal to me the exact steps to realizing my good.

Turning within, I release any uncertainty and affirm my oneness with the mind of God. I let it direct and guide me. Looking continually to God as the governing power in my life, I know what to do and when to do it. Infinite wisdom is mine--I only need to turn to it and be receptive to its voice.

Conscious of God's directing wisdom, I find joy in working to bring forth good. Being true to inner wisdom, to the voice of God within, I trust and follow the guidance I receive.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.--Proverbs 3:5
