Official Bob Marley Song - 'Slogans' To Be Released
The first new official Bob Marley track to be released in decades, Slogans is a song with a message of freedom and righteousness that transcends generations. It is believed that Marley recorded the song in a Miami bedroom in 1979.
The acoustic demo was revisited by the reggae legend's sons Stephen and Ziggy with overdubbed instruments, including guitar by Eric Clapton. Slogans is a bright and mighty anthem reminiscent of classic Marley.
The captivating cinematography is full of classic Marley footage, explosive live concert visuals and poignant images from the 1960's and 1970's to the present era.
The video provides a relevant backdrop to Marley's timeless and powerful lyrics that speak to the world we inhabit today as they did in 1979 when the song was written. The release of Bob Marley's Slogans is proof that a true artistic spirit never dies.
The first greatest hits package to include both his early sides and his Island Records hits, Africa Unite: The Singles Collection commemorates Marley's life on record. In addition to the early classics the album also includes the new single Slogans and 2 new remixes: Stand Up Jamrock (Ashley Beedle Remix), a mash-up of Bob's classic and Welcome
To Jamrock, the 2005 hit from youngest son Damian; and the wil.i.am (Black Eyed Peas) remix of Africa Unite. Other songs include Soul Rebel, Lively Up Yourself, Trenchtown Rock and Concrete Jungle alongside the Island hits I Shot The Sheriff, Get Up, Stand Up, No Woman, No Cry, Exodus, Jamming, Could You Be Loved, One Love/People Get Ready, Roots, Rock, Reggae, Waiting In Vain, The Sun Is Shining, Is This Love, Three Little Birds and Buffalo Soldier.

He promises to thrill the audience with his many hits such as 'No More War', 'Freedom', 'In Di Ghetto' and 'Prayer Time'.
There is a big question about the mysterious artiste LA Lewis. Patrons will be able to see the graffiti king in action. He will be performing his new controversial lyrics called 'Bring The Evidence Come' that speaks about people telling him gossip regarding industry players and artistes and refuses to listen until they bring forth their evidence.

Marley Legacy Rises On Reggae Recaps
Reggae veteran Sean Paul rules the year-end Top Reggae Albums chart, but the artist who got everyone talking was the son of legend Bob Marley, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley.
His Welcome to Jamrock (Ghetto Youths/Tuff Gong) nabbed the highest debut of a reggae release on The Billboard 200 in the Nielsen SoundScan era when it bowed at No. 7 this fall.
To date, Welcome to Jamrock has scanned 260,000 copies in the United States, and spawned a crossover hit at radio with its self-titled single. The album ends the year at No. 2 on the Top Reggae Albums recap.
This is from an artist who had previously been dropped by Universal's Motown Records, which released his 2003 effort "Halfway Tree."
Tuff Gong-the Kingston, Jamaica-based label the young artist's father started in 1965-serviced Marley's "Welcome to Jamrock" to radio in early 2004. Once the label secured some play, Marley was the subject of a major-label bidding war, eventually returning to Universal Music Group.
Marley fell just short of besting a proven hitmaker like Paul, whose third-full length, The Trinity (VP/Atlantic/AG), has sold 294,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Paul, in fact, is one of few veterans in the top tier of the year-end reggae albums chart.

Peter Lloyd Returns to the Jamaican Top 10
Peter Lloyd's Walk Through Fire hit the Jamaican top 10 in 2002, peaking at number 5 in the now extinct Star top 40 as well as the Entertainment Report (ER) top 10 chart. After a 4 year absence, Peter Lloyd is back on three major local singles charts with Gold Digga. As this is being penned, Peter Lloyd sits in the number 6 position on three of Jamaica's major top 20 Singles Chart i.e. Megajamz's top 20 dancehall chart, Hype TV's top 20 singles chart and MiPhone's top 20 dancehall chart.
Although Peter Lloyd has had massive underground hits within the last four years. In 2003 U Magnet hit the top 10 of many video charts. U Magnet was and still remains a favourite among Jamaica's youth. The cultural classic Wake Dem Up reached number 1 in several local video charts in 2005. The Wake Dem Up video is even credited with revolutionizing cultural videos on a whole in Jamaica.
Gold Digga which is produced by the riddim twins Sly & Robbie and Peter Lloyd himself on the Raw Food Riddim has become a staple on Jamaican radio stations islandwide, in dancehalls and popular among mixtapes. Gold Digga steady rise on these charts over the last ten weeks reflect the songs growing popularity as well as its connection to the popular Jamaican psyche. Peter Lloyd has another massive hit on his hands. Gold Digga comments on the growing materialism in our society and the damage that "Bling" culture has wrought upon relationship in general. The song has become an anthem for most of Jamaica's male population.
"I thought it was about time someone commented on this gimme gimme, waah waah psychology that has taken over our culture. Although I wrote it from a man's perspective Gold Digga refers to an everyday occurrence in Jamaica which is experienced by all classes, races and gender. Nuffa wi tun siren just a waah waah waah."
'06 has started on a high note for this multi-talented Jamaican. Peter Lloyd is the only Jamaican artiste who has successfully made his imprint as an international film actor, song writer, television broadcaster and a top 10 recording artiste. With its catchy hook, excellent vocals and driving Sly & Robbie beat, could this be Peter Lloyd first number 1 single?

Danielle - "I am a pretty thug" - New Dancehall Sensation
By:Claude Mills - Photos: Carlington Wilmot/YardFlex Reporters
The first thing that strikes you about Danielle is her rampant sexuality. Listening to her nimble edgy dancehall vocals laced with R-rated lyrics, and watching her sinewy feline moves, it doesn't take you long to come to the conclusion that she is a bold, mercenary ghetto sex bomb.
"Yeah, definitely," she agreed, laughing. "I am a pretty thug, a ghetto sex bomb with an uptown flavour."
Danielle has been been raising eyebrows recently with her combination single, 'Brown Girl in the Ring' with Virgin Records recording artiste Beenie Man. She also has a slamming single, 'Rudey', on noted producer Birch's 'Dancehall Rock' rhythm.
Despite her stunning good looks and relatively quick success, she is laid-back and humble, just your typical round-the-way diva.
"I really love the music business a lot, I have a burning passion for it, and at this time in my life, this is what I want to do, this drives me," she said.
She has an able and talented management team which works closely to hone her natural talents, and to develop new skills essential to her success in the biz. Michael Holgate of ASHE who works with her on the areas of artiste development, mock press interviews, and dance, while her manager, Amelia 'Milk' Sewell of CVM TV and Simply Innovating Artistes (SIA), handles the rough-and-tumble business side. Danielle writes her own material, but also collaborates with writers such as the comedic duo Twins of Twins.
The YARDFLEX team showed up at the video shoot for the single. When the writer arrived at the shoot, the salacious twentysomething year-old was busy strutting her stuff in a bikini, showing off her cat-like moves in the pool as the male camera crew shot the scene in earnest.
The director of the video was Julia Braham whose previous credits include the 'Anger Management' medley and Cecile's 'Woman Tings'. After a few minutes, the director yelled cut, and Danielle emerged from the pool, beads of water winding their way slowly down her voluptuous body. The Yardflex writer swallowed...twice, a gentle lion already stirring in his loins. And then she walked over to him, and breathed in a perky voice:
"Hi, I am Danielle."
A rhinestone was embedded in her teeth between her left incisor and molar, and winked at you when she smiled. At that time, the writer was totally captivated by her presence, but then again, she has that sort of effect on people.
A graduate of St. Andrew High school for Girls, Danielle's first foray in the business was a combination single, 'Turn Him On' with Cecile. Her mother, Siegrid Isaacs, has supported her daughter's career decision to the fullest. Danielle grew up in downtown Kingston, but thanks to her mother's entrepreneurial skills, they are a long way from the socially depressed area of John’s Lane now.
"As Ashanti said, I love mommy, she's my mom-ager," she said, hugging her mother, a good-looking woman with bleached-blonde hair and beautiful skin. Danielle has also mended her estranged relationship with her father. According to her mother, Danielle has a mixed cultural heritage, "black, English white and a little Jew".
Asked about her work-out programme, Danielle's hands go almost defensively to her golden-brown midriff where a slight paunch that makes her even more irresistible
"I go to the gym, not as often as I should but I do work out," she said, laughing.
Danielle has been busy in recent weeks networking with local artistes, and recently, she voiced a show-stopping remake of Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing' with Una Morgan of Morgan Heritage fame.
"It is a wicked wicked song, and I enjoyed working with Una so much," she said.
She really wants to collaborate on projects with male performers such as Baby Cham, Assassin, and Kip Rich.
"And I love Damian Marley, I love his hardcore rasta vibe, I really want to work with him as well," she said.
Look out world, here comes Danielle.

Tanya Stephens - Rebelution Is The Next Chapter
The quintessential Jamaican singer/songwriter, Tanya Stephens is equally adept at blazing the latest dancehall riddims as she is at blessing an acoustic guitar-driven ballad with lyrics that are insightful, relevant, comical, and often scathing...life and love observed with the honest eyes of a child, yet processed and returned to her audience with uncommon maturity and melody.
On Rebelution, Tanya Stephens once again displays her wit and musical sensibilities with bouncy songs like Hey Lady, in which she matter-of-factly explains to a woman (and all women) what steps she could have taken to keep Tanya from stealing her man.
Paying respect to the masters, Tanya borrows some rhythmic ideas on songs like Dirty Thoughts, where listeners will instantly recognize Bob Marley's "Mr. Brown" riddim, and To the Limit, which draws on a classic Burning Spear riddim. On the first single These Streets, and airy acoustic guitar track, Tanya pleads with her thug-love to realize that "these streets don't love you like I do." On this, her fourth LP, Tanya is poised to reach even greater international acclaim and finally be recognized by the masses as one of the great talents to emerge from Jamaica. Rebelution features the musings of a songbird who is vulnera! ble enough to feel the pain, but tough enough to live through it.
With a militant swagger, Rebelution is an edgy narrative of a street smart guerilla poet who continues to break the stereotype of what a female Jamaican artist should sound like. Smart and sexy, jagged and cunning, the lyrics flow out of the speakers and attack the unfortunate victims of her sharp tongue. This is not a passive listener's record, nor is it a record for the weak hearted. It screams and bites in the gentlest way possible, with back handed compliments and sometimes less-than-reaffirming opinions.
Armed with a fervent voice and classy demeanor Tanya tells her truth the way she sees it, uncompromising and uncensored. The evolution from the love scorned Gangsta Blues is apparent, but does not stray from the autobiographical, if anything Rebelution is the next chapter in her story. Already a cult hero in her native Jamaica, this album has Tanya Stephens crying from the hills and streets of Kingst! on... Viva La Rebelution!

LOY Head Convicted, Faces 20 Years
By: Jigga YardFlex.com Reporter
Horatio Hamilton, the chief executive of Lords of Yard Inc., a reggae music production company, was convicted of drug conspiracy for smuggling one tonne of marijuana into the city each week for several years.
According to the New York Times, Hamilton, president of Lords of Yard Inc., faces 20 years in prison after being convicted in Manhattan federal court.
Hamilton was arrested in 1999 with nearly two tonnes of marijuana at Los Angeles International Airport, Garcia said. He jumped bail and was arrested again last year.
Hamilton's lawyer said his client had left the drug business.
In the New York Times article, Jeffrey Lichtman was quoted as saying, "he had moved nto something more profitable and legal," Jeffrey Lichtman told jurors, calling Hamilton "one of the more famous Jamaican entertainers."
The executive created Sashi, a three-day reggae concert in Jamaica which generated a lot of buzz and great press in its heyday, and is credited with bringing big-name stars such as Super Cat to the Summer show.

The Buzz on Benzly -- Hyped to the Next Level
Yo, just let me test the speakers, HYPEEEEEEEEEE!
You may know him for the abovementioned intro ON 'Wear My Sunglasses at Night' or maybe for his provocative disses of dancehall diva, Cecile, or, yet again, for his somber, cerebral ultra-creative radio hit, 'Mirrow', but Benzly Hype remains a bit of conundrum for dancehall fans who are unable to label him or put him in a box.
"Small minds think alike, great minds thinks differently, out the box, if you want to remembered, you have to be great. Every great Jamaican artiste is never recognized in his own country, but when he's recognized overseas, he gets the recognition at home, Marley is the perfect example of that," said the only deejay who can boast that he has an exclamation mark as part of his stage name.
He is also starring in a comedic pilot for local television which is a semi-autobiographical take of a young deejay life, a project being spearheaded by Rick Elgood of Dancehall Queen fame.
"It is a comedy, and about weird, quirky characters I met on the journey coming up, it features Zimbu from Africa, Clumsy Dapps and the Innocent Kru are in it, it is all about the journey...it is a blast, you'll see," he said.
After embarking on a solo career, Benzly has quickly made a name for himself, especially the rave critical reviews which greeted his
'Mirrow' single. Since then, he has recorded a number of other singles such as 'Friday (T.G.I.F)', 'Jasmine Jones' and 'Stroke' on the Black Chiney label for his debut solo album.
"I have been shopping my Mirrow album around to a number of overseas record labels including Shady Records and Jive Records. Jive has more latched onto it, and I am waiting on them to get back to my team that is liaising with them right now," he said.
The super-talented artiste has also dabbled in other areas of entertainment, creating the 'Brown Girl in the Ring' rhythm which already has spawned a juicy combination single of the same name featuring Beenie Man and the deliciously looking Danielle.
"I made the Brown Girl in the Ring track when I was 18 years old. Originally, the track was supposed to appear on my album, but while I was overseas, I got a call from Rory saying that Beenie Man and Danielle had recorded on the track, so I decided at that time to just run with their single, and the song is now #2 on the New York reggae charts," he said.
Of his behind-the-scenes production skills, he said: "I have been producing tracks here and there behind the scenes for years, but people may not have realized that I was the one creating those rhythms. I played the keyboards, the flute and other instruments on Norris Man's 'Persistence(Is To Try)', that big hit many years ago."
He is indeed a man of many talents, even conceptualizing the artistic designs for his own Benzly Hype Collectible Sticker series which he gives away free to his growing teenybopper audience.
Born Hemsley Ainsley Gary Coleman Morris Jr. on September 20, 1976, Benzly Hype! - a member of the popular Innocent Kru has an extraordinary combination of musical talent, brains and hype.

Dancehall Artiste Buju Banton Freed of Assault Charge
By: Jigga YardFlex Reporter
Deejay Buju Banton, who was at the centre of a firestorm of criticism generated by a sustained campaign by gay rights groups against homophobic lyrics, was acquitted today in the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrates' court of assault charges leveled against him by gay men.
The entertainment community cheered the decision to acquit the deejay, and a large contingent of well-wishers, fellow deejays and other supporters were on hand. In HWT, some supporters waved flags and chanted anti-gay slogans as they cheered their Rastafarian hero.
"Vindicated. After all the persecution by Amnesty International who found the deejay guilty without the benefit of the trial. I would love to hear what they are going to say now," Donovan Germaine, manager of the deejay, told YardFlex.com.
"There had been a big cloud over his head because of this trial and it definitely put a damper on his career last year to the point where he never really went anywhere to perform overseas because of the pressure from the gay rights' groups, and the whole experience costs us a lot of time and money," he said.
Contacted yesterday, a man who gave his name as 'Garrett', the programme manager at the Jamaica Forum for Lesbians, All-sexuals, and Gays (JFLAG), said that the organization would "defer its comments to its lawyers as we have not yet finalized our discussion on the verdict".
Several members of the entertainment fraternity had been anxiously awaiting the verdict of one of reggae's most public faces, Buju Banton. Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, is known for the seminal anti-gay dancehall hit, 'Boom Bye Bye' in the early era of his career, but after a spiritual conversion to Rastafarianism, became known for a plethora of wonderful reggae gems such as 'Til Shiloh' and 'Wanna Be Loved'.
The police had alleged that Banton might be among a group of men who barged into a house on Carlisle Avenue in Kingston on June 24 2004 and beat six men who they accused of being homosexuals.
Last year, the rastafarian entertainer had been ordered to report to the Constant Spring Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:00 pm as a condition of his bail.
The case against Buju Banton last came before the court on September 30. This incendiary aspects of the case could well have signalled the death knell of Buju Banton's career, and placed his tour dates in Europe and the United States in jeopardy. The allegations of abuse against an alleged homosexual triggered a major attack on Buju's character and reputation by overzealous gay rights activists because he had traditionally been one of their favorite targets.
Almost 17 years ago, 'Boom Bye Bye' first drew great criticism from gay rights groups, which claimed the song incited the murder of gay persons. Buju Banton was one of eight dancehall artistes who have come under pressure from gay rights lobby groups in Europe and the United States for their gay-bashing lyrics. In fact, several of these artistes have had a number of their stage shows cancelled as a result of the sustained public relations and political pressure by these gay rights' groups.
The deejay may be emerging on the silver lining of what has been a dark and cloudy period in his personal and private life. Only two years ago, Banton had been banned from travelling to the United States for one year after he was found guilty of possession of and cultivation of marijuana in the local courts and ordered to pay a fine of $9,000 or serve 60 days in prison in April 2004.
In March 2005 the travel ban was lifted by the United States Embassy.

Carnival Time Again - Jamaica
If you've been dying to play the 'Prince of Persia', then this year's carnival celebrations in Jamaica may be just the ticket for you. This year's carnival will have a decidedly Old Word flavour as the organisers plan to revisit ancient cultures and civilizations as they celebrate the 'Lost Empires'. Bacchanal Jamaica Carnival launched their event at the Knutsford Court Hotel last Tuesday.
The costumes, sporting names such as Persian, Macedonian, Azteca, Zulu, Bacchanal Babes and Atlantians, were on full display for potential revellers who may be history buffs with a hard-on for the role-playing of celebrated historical figures.
Bacchanal Jamaica's exciting calendar of events will kick off at their home venue Mas Camp on February 17, with the theme Legend of the Nile. There will be weekly Friday night fêtes at that venue leading up to the road parade on April 23. Among the on Friday events will be the Appleton sponsored Roman Games on March 31 and Digicel's Victory on April 7.
Soa'cise, fitness sessions will begin warming up on February 20. These free soca exercise sessions will continue at the Mas Camp every Monday and Wednesday until April 10. Other highlighted events for the season are Beach Jouvert at James Bond Beach - April 15, Soca @ de Sanbar - April 19, Pan Night - April 20, Bacchanal Jouvert - April 21 and Bazodee - April 22.
With the carnival organisers promising a hot season they will be bringing quite a few acts from within the Caribbean to join with some of our local talents. Among the acts and selectors expected to perform in Bacchanal Jamaica's season are Destra with The Atlantic Band, The Imij Band, Sparkles, and DJ Kurt Riley.

Is it Splitsville Between Beenie Man & Virgin?
By: Jigga/YardFlex Reporter
In June, the penultimate album of Beenie Man's five-album deal with Virgin Records, is scheduled to hit stores worldwide. But it may well signal the beginning of the end of his association with the internationally recognized label.
Inside sources revealed to YardFlex that it will be a straight dancehall album which will be dubbed Undisputed. Current hotshot dancehall producer Don Corleone is reportedly handling much of the production work on the 18 tracks. There is also a track produced by R. Kelly and Beenie Man.
"The single Hum Hum is now being sent to radio stations overseas and from there, we are waiting to see if it is added to playlists, 500 spin a week mean dat yu up deh...1,000 spin mean dat yu a kick up...from there so to Billboard, from Billboard to Grammy," Beenie Man told YARDFLEX.
There are rumours of trouble between Beenie Man and the representatives of Virgin Records, especially after he was dogged by controversy regarding the content of his music and became one of several dancehall artistes targetted by gay rights groups two years ago. The record company also reportedly issued an apology on his behalf to the gay rights organizations, a move that irked Beenie Man's camp at that time, and incensed his fans.
In a recent interview with a reporter for the national newspaper, Beenie said of the Virgin deal, "me done wid dat. Virgin no know whe dem a do. Me sell more a Africa an' Europe an Brazil dan America. Virgin is not an American company.... When de deal is over, me a sign wid a urban company. Me a sign Mafia House to Sony/Epic".
Still, despite the controversy, Beenie Man has managed to remain on top of his game. Last November, after a one-year absence, he returned to the Billboard R&B Hip Hop Singles & Tracks chart with his collaboration with Trinidadian soca artiste KMC, titled 'Soul on Fire' debuting at number 84. This is the second single to chart on that listing which credits Beenie Man as featured artiste. Last year he was featured on rapper Guerilla Blacks' 'Compton' hit single.

Sean Paul Burns up the Billboard Again
Sean Paul debuted at number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week with Temperature, the third single off his latest album The Trinity.
Temperature was produced by Rohan 'Sno Cone' Fuller and featured prominently on last year's slamming 'Applause' rhythm that spawned several hits such as Shane-o 'Lightning Flash' and Sizzla's 'Run Out Pon Dem'.
This is the eighth song from Sean Paul to reach the Billboard Hot 100. The others include 'Breathe' featuring Blu Cantrell, 'Baby Boy' featuring Beyonce, 'Get Busy', 'Gimme the Light', 'I'm Still in Love With You' featuring Sasha and the recent number six hit 'We Be Burning'.

D' Angel and Beenie Man Together?
By: YardFlex Reporter Jigga
D'Angel, the singer who hit it big last year with the hit, 'Downtown Girl Living an Uptown Life', has denied rumours that she is romantically linked with deejay Beenie Man.
"Beenie is a man, I am a woman, what's the big deal? We are human beings...what?" she said jokingly when asked. "But we are not involved, we have a musical relationship, we have done a song together, 'One Man' on the Global riddim, but we are not together, I am merely signed to Shocking Vibes, he has called me up onstage for shows that I am not even billed for, he is giving me a lot of exposure and that's all, Beenie is not like that," she told YardFlex.
Since last year's Sting show, there have been several rumours making the rounds that the two are romantically involved, a rumour made even more saucy given the fact that D'Angel is the former girlfriend of deejay Bounty Killer, Beenie Man's nemesis. D'Angel has performed on a number of stage shows such as Island Xplosion, West Kingston Jamboree, Sting and Teen Jam.

Lyrics - 'Serious Times' By Reggae Artiste Gyptian
Chorus:
So I say
These are some serious times
All I can see around us is just violence and crime
Full time for us to centralize, socialize and realize
To let the sun shine throughout everyday
Let the moon shine through the peaceful night
This Seven time rise, seven times fall
But I don't really believe in those falling things at all
Cauz life continues as it goes
If you really want to know the truth
The truth is in being told
(Repeat) Chorus
Some time I think it's peace and safety
It could be yah for sudden destruction
Seh yeh wake up dis morning, ya gotta give tunkz
Yeh don't know if you're gonna live to see tomorrow
Life is much more precious than gold
Yea yea, and if the truth hasn't been told
So I say that these are some serious times
All I can see around us is just violence and crime
Full time for us to centralise, socialise and realise
See all the corner, watch how you a hang out pon the corner
A straight-time pharmacy agwann pon di corna
On di corna, the yutes dem really nah hold no water
A stray them go stray and left the border
Cauz a domino them say them gone, now they can play
And a car come in and shots start to spray
Only innocent life can get taken away
Repeat Chorus
Some time I think it's peace and safety
It could be yah for sudden destruction
Seh yeh wake up dis morning, yeh gotta give thanks
Yeh don't know if you're gonna live to see tomorrow
Life is much more precious than gold
Yea yea, and if the truth hasn't been told
Chorus

Arrivals go up Inspite of Jamaica's Murder Image Overseas
On the heels of a BBC Caribbean report declaring Jamaica the "murder capital of the world', the government has announced that Jamaica recorded its best tourism year ever in 2005 with just over 2.6 million foreign visitors. Go figure!
According to tourism director Paul Pennicook, this record figure represents an increase of four per cent over 2004. The Jamaica Tourist Board plans to press ahead with its aggressive marketing of the island overseas.
The state-run agency has resumed television advertising in the United States after the traditional ending of its Fall campaign just before America's Thanksgiving holiday. Television advertising will cost in the region of US$2 million.
A 25.4 per cent increase in stopover visitors in November gave an early indication that Jamaica would have ended the year in a strong position. In fact, for the period January to November 2005, total stopover arrivals stood at 1,313,398 - a 2.7 per cent increase over the same months in 2004.
Cruise passenger arrivals for the same period totalled 1,004,756 - a four per cent increase over the same months in 2004. The strategists believe that the numbers are likely to go up at the final count, given the encouraging performance during November and December, and eventually, the figure should represent a four per cent increase over 2004.

Dancehall Artiste Mr. Vegas New Video about Post-Partum Depression
Vegas' new video, 'Do You Know', has been creating quite a buzz in the dancehall as of late because of its unusual post-partum depression theme.
"It is a serious concern in Jamaica today, the whole concept of the video was not to go down the regular road that people expect, but look at other ways at how to miss someone, for instance, if you have a woman who is paralyzed, or in a mental hospital, just playing with different ideas of missing someone, me and my manager come upon the idea of post-partum depression, and we just did research and we realized that millions of young teenage mothers are affected by it, so we decided to do it from this perspective, and I am pleased with the response," he told YardFlex.
Vegas scored a chart-topper last year with 'Constant Spring'.

Hammer Comes to Island of Paradise - Jamaica
By Jigga YardFlex Reporter
Jamaica will host renowned "Blaxploitation" film star Fred "The Hammer" Williamson tomorrow when he arrives to attend a local investors' meeting, and to review potential lead actresses for the filming of the movie, Black Kissinger, slated for local production in May 2006.
While in Jamaica, Williamson, a former NFL football star, will be meeting with investors on Thursday, January 12, at the JAMPRO headquarters. On Friday, January 13, he will be interviewing a number of Jamaican actresses, to select the Female Lead for the movie, which will be shot entirely in Jamaica. He will also make an appearance at the Red Bones Blues Cafe on Friday night.
"Black Kissinger", a joint project of US, Canadian and Jamaican investors, is an adventure movie incorporating current themes of terrorism, money laundering and international finance. The film will get great buzz from the involvement of Williamson, who is one of the first African-American male action stars of the "blaxploitation" genre of the early 1970s.
The plot of the movie follows the action star, Henry Kissinger, a Jamaican-born, American cop with chutzpah who ventures to Jamaica for an island holiday with his girlfriend, who mysteriously turns up dead. What follows next is a quest for justice which leads him through a series of interesting twists and turns involving terrorism, gang warfare, and international machinations.
The local team of independent filmmakers, executives of Zed Jamaica, Carlton Grant, Robert Menzies, hooked up with Williamson at the American Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles, California in November 2005, to market the Black Kissinger script to prospective producers, financiers, buyers and sellers in the film industry, at the AFM.
The 6' 3" Williamson is known by the older segment of the Jamaican population for movies such as M*A*S*H, and classic black action films such as 'Hammer', 'Black Caesar', 'Hell Up in Harlem', and 'Three the Hard Way'.

The Rebirth of Reggae Sunsplash
By: YardFlex Reporter Claude Mills (Jigga)
The organizers of Sumfest may be in jeopardy of losing a couple of major dancehall acts for this year's Summer event with the return of the seminal Reggae Sunsplash.
Thanks to an aggressive marketing strategy, the organisation's management team has already inked contracts with a host of top dancehall acts for the event, a development which could stifle the line-up of Sumfest, and one-up the upstart festival which, to the chagrin of music lovers, knocked Sunsplash out of the picture years ago.
"We cannot say much at this juncture, but we are going to have a wonderful show lined up for the public in June this year, but you will have to wait until our press conference on February 8th to hear more about it in terms of which artistes will be in the forefront," Charles Campbell, one of the key figures in the rebirth of Reggae Sunsplash, told YARDFLEX this week.
The event is slated to start on June 1st and ends on the 6th.

Jamaica's newly hot entertainment spot - Escape Closed
New Kingston is now without one of it's slamming nightclub after Justice Martin Gayle ordered popular teenage New Kingston nightclub Escape 24/7 closed after hearing that its owner had kept it open after an application for a club registration licence was turned down by Resident Magistrate Georgiana Fraser last November.
A number of persons were slapped with a variety of small fines arising out of illicit activities at the club.
Representatives from the Village Cafe, on Barbican Road, and Priscilla's Night Club, on Constant Spring Road, were also brought before the court to answer charges of operating without a spirit licence or a Place of Amusement licence. This follows last week's crackdown on illegal gas stations and nightclubs by the Agro-Environmental Enforcement branch of the Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF).
Five Escape 24/7 workers were ordered to pay a fine of $3,000 or spend 30 days behind bars for selling alcohol without licences - a breach of the Spirit Licence Act - while the club's manager, Orville Bryan, in addition to being charged for selling alcohol without a licence, is facing charges of operating a club without a Places of Amusement licence and, aiding and abetting the club's operation since being ordered closed last year.
Robert Collins, manager of the Village Cafe and Abeng Stewart, manager of Priscila's Night Club, were also ordered to pay $3,000 or spend 30 days in prison when they appeared in court answering to charges of operating without a spirit licence and operating without a Place of Amusement Licence.
Keith Braithwaite, another manager at Priscilla's Night Club, and Richard Spence of The Deck, at Trafalgar Road, have also been convicted of both offences.
With the exception of Priscilla's Night Club, whose Place of Amusement licence expired in March of last year, none of the three mentioned nightclubs had ever operated with either licences. Apart from Escape 24/7, all these establishments had remained closed since last week's raid on them by the Agro-Environmental Branch. The drive to regularise the operations of the corporate area nightclubs began last October when the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) threatened to close down Escape 24/7, Coco Loco, JAVAA nightclubs because they did not have Places of Amusement licences.

Bad Gal Ce'Cile 'bussing out' in South Florida
Bad gal of the dancehall Ce'Cile is making her presence felt in South Florida. Her latest release 'Woman Ting' according to Lynks FM's Clinton Lindsay it is one of the most requested songs on his station.
"Since the first time we buss this tune the requests have been coming in like crazy," he stated. He went on to point out that it is the same with other jocks on the station.
'Woman Ting' is a humourous look at the trend that is currently taking over now - men wearing tight up clothes and buying out the women wear. Even in Jamaica this song has women shaking their heads in agreement at the funny, but true lyrics.
Watch out for more hot songs coming from Ce'Cile as she is currently working on some new materials.

Pop Singer Pink Pledges 'I do' to Motocross Boyfriend
Punky pop singer Pink and her thrill-seeker fiance, motocross racer
and "The Surreal Life" co-star Carey Hart, got hitched Saturday in Costa Rica, reports People maggie.
The tattooed twosome exchanged vows in front of more than 100 guests (including Lisa Marie Presley) in a nondenominational sunset ceremony on the beach at the Four Seasons resort.
"We just love the beach, so we knew we wanted it to be at the beach," the 26-year-old singer explained to People.
"We wanted it very fun and non-traditional," Hart added. "We're spiritual, but we're not religious."
Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, and Hart met at the 2001 X Games, broke up for a while in 2003, and got engaged in June.
The unconventional songstress took a chance and proposed to her beau while he sped around the track during a competition in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.
She held up a sign that read, "Will You Marry Me?" as he raced past. On his following lap, the singer posted another sign that read, "I'm serious!" Hart got the message and ditched his race to accept!
For Hart, the answer was easy. "I knew within the first few weeks after meeting her that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life," he told the maggie.

Soul Singer Lou Rawls Dies at 72
BEIJING, Jan. 9 -- Silky-Smooth jazz and soul crooner Lou Rawls, famed for his 1976 hit "You'll Never Find (Another Love Like Mine)," died of lung and brain cancer in Los Angeles on Friday at the age of 72.
Born in Chicago, Rawls started out as a gospel singer and later performed as a warm-up act for the Beatles in the 1960s. He went on to act in Hollywood and on Broadway, but he was best known for his jazz, soul and blues hits.
His sugar-sweet tones made him instantly recognizable, and Frank Sinatra reputedly said he had the "silkiest chops in the singing game."
Famed for his catchphrase "Yeah, Buddy", Rawls was also known for charitable work. Starting with his "Parade of Stars" benefit concerts, he raised more than US$200 million to put African-American students through college.
His 40-year career included 60 albums, brought him three Grammy Awards and 13 nominations, a platinum album, five gold albums and a gold single.

Bigman Ting - Vybz Kartel gets Married
By: YardFlex.com Reporter Jigga
A thug can fall in love, too. Don't believe it? Just ask deejay Vybz Kartel, who tied the knot today in a 'shotgun wedding' of sorts that shocked legions of his faithful fans.

None of Kartel's celebrity friends were present.

After the ceremony, the coup
