Canadian farm workers demand compulsory savings

A group of Jamaicans who were drafted in the Canadian Farm Work programme is venting anger at the Ministry of Labour and Social over their inability to access funds deducted as compulsory savings.
According to some of the frustrated farmers, several queries with the Labour Ministry have yielded no adequate answers about the monies which they have not been able to access since late last year.
One of the farm work programme employees said that the affected persons will be stepping their efforts to get answers from the government this week.
But big and serious this government must do better than that.
