Killa’s Kanye moment at Shaggy & Friends
Looking back, Shaggy will ask himself again and again why he gave Bounti Killa the microphone to go on stage in the closing moments of the Shaggy & Friends concert at Jamaica House on Saturday.
If ever there was a Kanye moment in local entertainment, it happened when the cross, miserable, angry Warlord bounced on stage at the show at the dying moments of the concert and killed what, up until then, had been a very good thing.
Killa pounced upon the “battyman dem” at the show who didn’t “give enough” to the worthy cause, the Bustamante Hospital for children. It was a real Kodak moment to see the look on the faces of those in attendance at this concert where ticket prices ranged from a high of $30,000.00 to a low of $5,000.00.
Bounti finally got a chance to face his target audience and he cursed them off in the best way he knew how “oonu a battyman, oonu don’t give enough to charity ... all of oonu man who don’t have nuh pickney .. oonu a battyman.”
Poor Shaggy looked as if he jsut wanted to fold up himself and hide in on of the guitar cases, but instead he quickly exited the stage. Nobody was going to videotape him on stage during Bounti’s anti-gay tirade and make it look as if he was in support of Bounti’s statements.
Shaggy must have given some signal to the sound people, because as soon as Bounti and Mavado left, the sound system started playing music. Patrons just stood there, waiting for something to happen on stage ... anything except the return of Bounti with more venom. Finally, as the capapcity crowd made its way through the gates, MC Squeeze went on stage and formally brought the curtain down on Shaggy & Friends.
As for Bounti, he and Mavado pledged $250,000.00 to the cause.

there's a time n place for everything and killa definately violated shaggy ting by doing that. him need fi duh dat at his own show or jus guh up a new kingston with a loud speaker and then sey that. then mi woulda rate him.

Thats a real disgrace. This was meant to be about raising funds for children. Not profiteering off a go on the mic to cuss battymen dem out.

Promoters should know that some people you just dont put on your show. You cannot even call them artist because they do not fit in that category. You would believe that as time goes by Bounty would know when and where to say some things. They have no respect for people. There is a time and place for everything. I love Shaggy and I hope you learn a lesson.
Some people need to go to school....dem too dark!

I agree that bounty was out of line. However, he is not wrong so many children in Jamaica should not be in wants and so much money is circulating on the island. He used that word to describe them because he thinks they have no love for women and children they only love themselves. Please do not fail to recognise what he has done for Jamaica and besides the Jamaican government "out a line" more than bounty.

dat is why i will always rate d killa ova a person like beenie. if beenie guh on stage him a guh smile and gwaan like him a uptown 2 but wherever killa goes he will always b K-I-L-L-E-R. Did Beenie contribute anything? If not, I guess he is a battyman 2.

Now the problem with our society is not people who make mistakes, it's those who choose not to make amends for their actions. Even Bounty Killer has admitted his inappropriate behavior and has apologized for it. But there has to be the persons who doesn't see anything wrong with what he did and even goes further to applaud him. It is these same people who for whatever reason can't mention Killer's Name without disrespecting Beenie Man even if he has nothing to do with the situation. Beenie did not misbehave at Shaggy's show so he doesn't have to announce how much he has pledged.

Bounty why you dont think before you act. My goodness. As the majority will agree there is a time and place for everything,obviously that was not the right place for your opinion and then you carry Movado wid you into your cas cas. FYI Battyman come in many forms shape and size not every man that does not have a child is gay and as "Lawd Evil" say then your friend "Bling Dawg" gone. You see how ignorant you sound. I appreciate you looking back and apologizing to Shaggy but you still deserve a lashing for being so damn stupid.
