Last Thursday a warrant was issued for lawyer Antoinette Haughton by Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey .


Haughton-Cardenas is facing two counts of fraudulent conversion. The warrant was, however, stayed until December 9.


Haughton-Cardenas was scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday, but her attorney said she could not attend as she was ill. A medical certificate was produced.


The accused, it is alleged, fraudulently converted money given to her by a client in one instance and in another, she is accused of failing to hand over to a client, the full amount that he was awarded in a lawsuit.
