Missing child found, now in state care

Annaleise Davies, the Duhaney Park Primary student who went missing from school on Tuesday is in the care of the state.
According to Radio Jamaica the police, acting on information have removed the child from her parent's home.
The 10-year old was taken to the Cross Roads Police Station in St Andrew Thursday morning, two days after she was reported missing.
Superintendent Delroy Hewitt, Head of the St. Andrew South Police Division revealed at a press conference Thursday afternoon that Annaleise has been taken to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse and was medically examined and interviewed.
Woman to be charged for keeping missing girl
Meanwhile, the young woman who took Annaleise to the police Thursday morning is to be charged under the Child Care and Protection Act.
The police said she is facing three months behind bars.
She is to be questioned further.
According to Superintendent Hewit, the police are looking at the possibility that Annaleise may have run away due to problems at home.
"There might have been some domestic problems that person didn't identify previously but we're not certain ... that is one of the areas we're looking at."
Annaleise's parents are to also face further questioning.
Left school
Superintendent Hewitt said based on information received so far, on Tuesday, the day she was discovered missing, Annaleise left school in Duhaney Park and had enough money to take a bus to Half Way Tree.
From there however, Superintendent Hewitt said the child seemed to have run out of money and wandered onto Hope Road where she was found by a woman.
He said the woman, who was on her way to athletics training at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus, took Annaleise to the training session.
The two then went to the woman's house in the Kingston 5 area where Annaleise spent two nights until she was taken to the Cross Roads Police Station Thursday morning.
The police are extending thanks to those persons who called and sent tips throughout their search for the young girl.
On Wednesday, family and friends of Annaleise demonstrated outside the gates of the Duhaney Park Primary School and prevented teachers from entering the compound.
They blamed the school's administration for failing to protect Annaleise while in their care.
