Jamaicans receive $23m from US bus company

Thirty-one Jamaicans who sued US bus company Greyhound have given a $23 million pay-out.
The individuals, who were hired under the Government's Overseas Hotel Employment Programme, received US$268,000 from their lawsuit.
They were issued with cheques at the Ministry of Labour on Tuesday.
The Jamaicans were injured in March 2007 in an accident involving a Greyhound bus while travelling from Florida to their places of employment in Missouri.
Greyhound will also have to pay medical and legal costs as well as other fees.
Minister of Labour Pearnel Charles assured the group that he is willing to work with them to provide any further assistance that may be necessary
