Sean Paul takes 2009 MOBO for Best Reggae

Big up to Sean Paul who walked away on Thursday night the 2009 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award for Best Reggae Album with his August release Imperial Blaze.
Since its release the VP/Atlantic Imperial Blaze album sold 28,465 copies in its opening week to register a number 12 debut on the Billboard 200 album chart.
It registered brisk movements on the Billboard rap and reggae album charts, it topped the popular online store iTunes Reggae abums chart in the UK and France. It also made its debut in Japan at #1.
The MOBO Awards which was held at the Glasgow’s Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Scotland saw Paul edging out artistes such as Mavado, Serani, Tarrus Riley and Vybz Kartel.
Other winners for the night included Beyonce (Best International, Best Video: Singles Ladies), Keri Hilson (Best R&B) and JLS (Best Newcomer.
