Iley Dread Enjoys Success with New Single

Reggae singer Iley Dread is enjoying success with Are You Sure, one of the singles off his just-released Unleashed album. The song is presently getting a lot of attention in the UK and Canada.
Producer Jeffrey Forrest could not be any happier about the single's success. According to him, he sent out some 'teaser' mp3s to disc jocks and the response was great.
"I kept getting requests from other jocks who heard it and wanted it added to their playlists," he said.
And to think that Forrest never had any intention of releasing the track as a single. It was supposed to be just one of the regular tracks on the album... but the requests that were coming in changed that thought.
Since the single hit the streets, it seems to have gained a new life of its own on the international scene. While it is enjoying some amount of airplay in Jamaica, it is in the States and on the European circuit that it has really taken off the producer stated.
Singer Iley Dread, who is promoting his Unleashed album on the North American circuit, is now making plans to take some time off to shoot a video for the song.
Colin Levy aka Iley Dread, singer, songwriter, producer hails from the parish of Hanover. Like most artistes, he developed an early appreciation for music and honed his talent performing on community and school events. He migrated to Canada in 1992, where he continued to explore his love for reggae music in Montreal, Quebec.
While assisting his family in their restaurant business, The Rainbow Ites, Iley would use his free time to write and produce for young local talent and he sometimes performed at the Ites talent shows.
In 1994 Iley was introduced to Bevin Jackson, the owner of Bulleyes Recording Label. Bevin encouraged him to record his own material and start his own production company. The following year Kings of Kings was born.
Bevin became Ileys' mentor and he produced a number of songs for him, five of which were part of Iley's first album, A Friend For Life. This association was cut short because of the untimely passing of Bevin due to injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident. A Friend For Life was released in 2001 and featured appearances from Glen Washington, Lady Saw, Louie Culture, Luciano, Chrisinti and Norris Man.
Since then, Iley has released Unite The People and now his third solo project to date, Unleash.
