Mark Shields the former Deputy Commissioner of Police Mark has officially completed his tour of duty with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
Mr. Shields' ended ties with the Force two weeks ago when his short term contract expired.
It is not yet known whether the high profile former Scotland Yard officer will remain in Jamaica or return to Britain.
Mr. Shields' four year contract with the JCF expired on March 31, 2009 and he was later retained on two short term contracts of three months each to pursue cold cases.
He supervised several protracted investigations, including the enquiry into the disappearance of Kemar Walters and Oliver Duncan from a plaza on Washington Boulevard.
Commissioner of Police Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin who defended the decision to offer Mr. Shields' the contracts said it was done in the interest of continuity and to ensure that complex cases are satisfactorily completed.
