Lady Gladys Bustamante.jpgLady Gladys Bustamante died on Saturday in the Tony Thwaites Wing of the University Hospital. She had been ailing in recent years and was confined to bed.
Tributes have since been flowing in for the stalwart who stood up for women’s rights.

The latest has come from the People’s National Party Women’s Movement. According to the movement It is with deep regret that it offers its condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Lady Gladys Bustamante. who died on Saturday at the age 97.
The orgnisation noted that Lady B was regarded as the mother of the Nation, a loving, brave and caring person, who demonstrated these qualities by dedicating her life to worthy causes which impacted on the poor and disadvantaged in society .One of her proudest achievements was assistance she gave to The Bustamante Children Hospital named after her late husband National Hero Sir Alexander Bustamante.

She was the devoted wife of Sir Alexander Bustamante and was his eyes and ears, and a consummate adviser to him until his passing, the women’s movement noted.
The PNP Women's Movement proudly acknowledges her lasting contribution to various women movements and issues pertaining to women throughout the years.
