Celebrities filed into the venue hours before the show began, to walk the red carpet and give media their undivided attention. Then the curtains went up and the show was first emceed by Copeland Forbes, pinch hitting for Tony Rebel, who later turned up to take over his hosting duties.

Big up to IRAWMA still. Am going address everyones comments above. 1st Dancehall Theater never heard of you thats why you wasn't on it. Dancers blvd put themselves out there to the media not just to the crowd. There should be a category for dancers yes but at the same time ding dong was around the week before and was invited not sure why he didn't show up. Speaking to some of the artist they always say oh yeah if me did know. That's because management always forget to tell them or remind them.

Ok next Barbee on tracks was wack love the girl but for real? Anyways Appollo is better place but they have too much rules for the working media and some of the people that work there were disrespectful. But either way I see what you saying with that. NYC Artist? Like who? Them all should know them invited. Lushy Banton from NJ was there. Linx Mr. Unruly and Benny Bwoy was there, Ed Robinsion who lives in NY was there, give me some names so I can pass it on to Martin. Ok speaking of Martin you 100% correct. Him need fi pre-record. Every year him mess up one big small thing, weird. I guess it was wishfull thinking when him say Obama's first 100 years instead of days. Sister Carol she wicked that's all me have fi say. Everyone looked great. Ok Eddie I want you to do some research and see why Vybz don't fly to nyc. As for the rest of his crew you already know the deal with gaza and alliance. So pretty much them man deh watch which part them a go because them turn the music business into bloods and crips (yeah it's dat big).

Ok dang me talk 3much me feel like matterhorn (talk the business) lol. Anyway keep the conversation going a so we mek change. Respect

Award show was ok could have been better. Still unorganized.

    2. Barbee was not backed by Dean Frazer's band she did tracks and it was horrible. No hating just truth.

    3. Prefer the Apollo venue more intimate and can buy drinks. Did not see drinks there I guess being that it is held at a place of education. Everywhere I turned ppl was asking for drinks.

    4. Mr. Martin needs to practice his speech or better still pre record due to the yearly mistakes he makes and his grammar.

    5. How come no NY Artist not on this show when it is held in NY? That is an insult to injury.

    6. Everyone came out in style kudos to them

    7. Loved Sister Carol's statement to Promoters and their Balls Fest and not Reggae Fest etc.

Thank you Yardflex for posting this.

  • Organization that hold awards honoring Jamaica’s art must not forget about the most important part of our culture, the rhythm of the people, the base of the drums, and the freeness of our soul. The Dancehall dance culture. Every year dem leave out the dance culture, not even a nomination for Mr. wacky, or any form of acknowledgment of the art form. And yes we are tired of the elders not respecting and giving back to our art form. Keep in mind there is good and bad everywhere. Yes Dancerzblvd performed the opening presentation, its second time. not again. A Change must come1
