PLCA Condolence to the Jureidinis
The Chairman of the Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA), the Rt. Hon. Edward Seaga , the Board and the entire PLCA family wish to express condolences to our Secretary Clyde Jureidini, who lost his mother Doris on Tuesday April 28, 2009.
Mrs Jureidini who would have been 85 in November, is survived by husband Charles, four additional children including Michael who like Clyde is heavily involved in football.
While not being a member of the Harbour View Football Club executive, Mrs. Jureidini, was a stalwart of the family-oriented Harbour View Football Club and would be seen sitting side by side with her beloved Charles at Harbour’s home matches. Their support for the club was not limited to home matches as they traveled the length and breadth of the country to support their beloved team and did so up until their health took a downturn in late January/early February.
“Doris was such a lover of and a loyal supporter of football and her children’s involvement in the sport that she was probably the person off whom the American concept of “Soccer Moms” was modeled,” said PLCA Chairman Seaga of Mrs. Jureidini who lived for God, children and football.
“The picture painted by her and Charles represented a wholesome example of family values that many within and without the sport would do well to emulate. They represented what football should be and can still become in our country, a true family sport,” he added.
“To Charles, Clyde, Michael and the other children I say, be strengthened by her unwavering faith in Christ and be comforted by Psalm 18:2 which reads: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold”.
