Jamaica Gospel Song Finalists 2009 Selected
Ten original gospel songs and their singers have been selected to participate in the 2009 Jamaica Gospel Song Competition organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.
They are:
Andre Wrght with the song “ Man o God ” from St. Catherine
Omar Douglas , with the song “Jehovah Nuh Sleep” from St. Thomas
Kimola Brown with the song “Sen Down ” from St. Ann
Fabian Wright with the song “I have your Mercy ” from Manchester
Brinetta Lewis with the entry “Weh yuh a Worry Fah” from Kgn & St. Andrew
Gamel Grant , with “Take Me to Jesus” from Trelawny
Kimela Isaacs with the song “Reassurance” from Kgn & St. Andrew
Nickette Morgan, with the song “Wherever I Go”. from St. Catherine
Duet, Tobi Maxwell and Gilthiesa Smith with their entry “You Are” from Manchester
Leo Lewis with the entry “Buss Out” from St. Catherine
The finalists beat more than 200 participants island-wide throughout two levels of eliminations to secure their chance to work with some of Jamaica’s top gospel producers in the production of a compilation album that is due to be released in May. The 2009 finals are scheduled for July at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
