Bail extended for helper
Vaswani’s helper, 46 year-old Marcia Gordon had her bail extended on Tuesday when she made her first appearance in court before the Corporate Area Criminal Court.
Gordon who is accused of conspiring with others to steal a vault with millions of dollars in cash and jewellery from her boss, Prakash Vaswani pleaded not guilty to the charges.
She was charged two weeks ago following investigations into the mysterious disappearance of a vault with cash and jewellery from Mr Vaswani's Millsborough, St. Andrew residence last month.
The cops claimed Ms Gordon conspired with other persons to steal the vault with the cash and jewellery worth more than $5 million, after her boss went on an overseas trip.
Investigators say there was no forced entry.
However, Ms Gordon argued that she was asleep when thieves entered the sprawling house and removed the vault.
Two Indian businessmen were detained by the police in connection with the theft two weeks ago, but they were later released after spending several days in custody.
Another suspect is now in custody.
The cops say they have recovered some of the stolen jewellery.
Ms Gordon is to return to court on May 11.
