Through the newly-formed Carlisle Foundation scholarships will be given to selected students who have successfully gone through the selection process.
Funding for the foundation will be coming from the cupcoming concert Life Fest: Peace and Love Concert which is scheduled to be held on Carlisle’s birthday, May 2 at Backyard, Constant Spring Road. It will feature performances from some of Spragga’s friends including Stephen and Damian Marley, Wayne Wonder, Sizzla, Queen Ifrica, Tanya Stephens, Jah Cure and Chino along with Spragga himself.
All artistes have pledged their services free as they really want to see this worthy venture become a reality.
Speaking about the concert Spragga says that it will be a fund to help kids with potential.
“Strings will definitely be attached to the scholarships that will be given out,” he stressed as pointing out that the beneficiaries who will be chosen by a special panel will have to maintain a certain level of performance or else the scholarship would have to be reviewed.
Speaking about the upcoming concert, Delroy Escoffery of D’Empire Management, organisers and sponsors of the show, informed that the idea for the concert was Spragga’s brainchild as well as Salaam Remi from Boom Tunes.
