1986 Nigel Pagon, CEO of Challenger Transport Limited, incorporated the company that he owned and operated 8 buses in the corporate area. In 1988, the company was diversified into auto parts, launching Challenger Auto Supplies, and then in 1991 it implemented the used car dealership service. In 1997 the company introduced the innovative lease/purchase programme which enabled many Jamaicans to own their first vehicle. In April 1999, Challenger expanded its operations by signing an agreement with General Motors to be the dealer for Chevrolet brand in Jamaica, and in June 2000 the doors to the new fully equipped Molynes Road facility; with showroom, offices, parts and service departments were opened.

GM Challenger’s main focus is on offering affordable vehicles and spare parts that are of the highest standards.
