15-year –old molester rescued by police in Old Harbour
A 15-year-old boy in Church Pen, Old Harbour narrowly missed being beaten to death by a mob in Old Harbour, thanks to quick intervention by the police that his life was spared.
An angry mob was intent on taking the law into their own hands when an allegation was made that the 15-year-old was caught molesting an 11-year-old boy.
A mob converged on the scene and the police rushed to the area and rescued the teenager from the angry crowd.
The 15-year old boy was taken into custody and subsequently charged under the Child Care and Protection Act as a juvenile in need of care and protection.
The 11-year-old and his mother have also left the community.
