It was pure Marley Magic in Negril
It was total magic at Wavz Beach in Negril on Saturday with some sizzling performances from top artistes at the event dubbed Marley Magic.
Junior Kelly gave a commendable performance and had the Negril massive singing along to songs such as If Love So Nice and others.
It was a real poignant moment when Spragga Benz took centrestage and performed a song in tribute to his son Carlisle who was shot and killed under controversial circumstances by the police. His emotionally charged performance brought tears to the eyes of patrons who were all moved by the tribute.
Junior ‘One Blood’ Reid did a tight set performing some of his current hits as well as drawing from his catalogue of Black Uhuru hits. The versatile Reid kept the tourists on a high with some of his hip-hop collaborations.
DJ Capleton threatened to burn the place down with his fire chanting lyrics, it was totally heat in the place after he took the stage. His set was a flag waving, foot stomping energetic session. When he made his exit it was a totally satisfied audience.
Following King Shango’s performance it was time for the only living Wailer, Bunny. Working on tracks he delivered a solid set.
Then it was time for the Marley magic and that came in Bob’s offsprings Stephen and Junior Gong, they worked an excellent set. ‘Magic’ is the only word that can describe their voices harmoniously blending together to produce awesome music.
Their set got even more fun when they called on stage Spragga and Wayne Marshall respectively to perform with them.
When the last strains of the music filled the air at 230 am it was a totally satiated crowd that made their way home.
