Ninja detained for questioning in murder case

Controversial deejay Desmond Ballentine more popularly known as Ninjaman and Brother Desmond is now behind bars, as the police continue to gather information linking the deejay to Tuesday’s gun murder of a 20-year-old man in the Marl Road area of Kingston.
Ninja turned up with his attorney, Norma Linton at the Hunt’s Bay Police Station on Thursday, and was detained. He was named by the police as a person of interest in the murder of Ricardo Johnson, also called ‘Ricky Trooper’, at Johnson’s home in Marl Road, Kingston and had been asked to present himself to the authorities.
According to the police, Johnson and three men who were travelling in a grey motorcar were involved in a verbal altercation as he swept his yard in the company of a male friend. The men reportedly drove off but returned a short while after and opened fire at Johnson hitting him several times. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Ninjaman, however, in an interview, told YardFlex that he knew nothing about the incident and vowed to clear his name. “Me not going prison fi dis one,” he said.
The Marl Road area is known to be one of the places frequented by the deejay.
