Raunchy sex selling gets Jamaica Live the boot from Yardflex website
By: Elizabeth Smith
For the past four years Yardflex.com has been providing an immense and growing global readership with breaking entertainment news, reviews, commentary and a good dose of just about any sort of information under the sun. However our all inclusive editorial/content policy was created with limitations, in keeping with standards set and adhered to by Yardflex Inc. Board Members and Advisors.
During this past weekend there were some serious violations of Yardflex Inc.’s policy on erotic content, in the malicious form of a live stream typifying sex trade programming.
Yardflex Inc was in no way responsible for the aforementioned lewd content that was posted by recent collaborators, Jamaica Live.
Jamaica Live, owned and administered by, Kim Thomas and Dave Lindsay, embarked on a proposed mutually beneficial partnership with Yardflex Inc. at the end of 2008. Aware of the advantages of being affiliated with Yardflex.com, where site traffic outnumbers many popular and similar entertainment e-zines, Lindsay and Thomas presented a proposal that would give Jamaica Live the opportunity to broadcast the live stream of STING 2008; live interactions with top entertainers; as well as host a live chat stream. All these features were prominently posted on the Yardflex.com web site.
Yardflex Inc. facilitated the ‘Jamaica Live’ segments that brought readers up close and personal with artists and industry affiliates, by liaising with entertainers on behalf of Jamaica Live and actually giving that part of their proposal life.
The Jamaica Live addition to Yardflex.com became quite popular, with readers getting very involved in the live chat stream and commenting on their approval of the live video viewing as well.
This positive development for both parties started to unravel however, when Jamaica Live engaged in some unprofessional interactions while on a Yardflex initiated assignment at the studio of Vybz Kartel recently. Refusing to keep in line with journalistic standards of objectivity, the Jamaica Live team began to editorialize with subjective comments leveled against the Kartel group.
Knowing full well that there have been ongoing abrasive interactions with Kartel and Alliance, they declared allegiance to Alliance at the Kartel ‘camp’ – infuriating Vybz Kartel, who aborted the media jaunt, sending Yourradio.com and effectively Yardflex Inc., ‘packing’.
Yardflex CEO, Deborah Cole interjected in full and successful damage control mode, marking the beginning of Yardflex Inc.’s disillusionment with the Jamaica Live collaboration that was becoming seemingly counter-productive.
Up until that time, Yardflex Inc. had been giving what could be described as second chances to a duo, who came with less than impressive recommendations. After the collaboration with Jamaica Live, former partners of Thomas and Lindsay advised Yardflex Inc against doing business with the two administrators.
Other music industry players were also disapproving of the collaboration, citing ‘negative track record’ as the cause.
In addition to that, Yardflex personnel found it mind boggling that some overnight tapings of interviews by Jamaica Live, were attended by the 2-year-old administrators’ daughter, who was often on edge and seemed to need the comfort of her bed.
Then on Valentines Day weekend Jamaica Live brandished ‘the straw that effectively broke the camel’s back’.
In the wee hours of the night/morning, there were sex workers being streamed live through Jamaica Live. They were actually in the act of selling virtual sexual favors.
For a fee, viewers – who happened to be dedicated Yardflex.com readers, were being invited to partake in voyeurism.
This action was a total infringement of Yardflex. Inc.’s policies and as a result, Jamaica Live has been pulled from the website www.yardflex.com permanently.
Following this insubordinate move on the part of Kim Thomas and Dave Lindsay, known also as ‘Kali Weed’, Yardflex Inc has completely severed all ties with Jamaica Live.
Yardflex sincerely apologizes to our readership for any stress or negativity caused by the recent Jamaica Live live eroticism.
We are certain that the decision to desist in collaborating with Jamaica Live will serve to address and ultimately halt the outpouring of negative comments currently being fielded by this media house that strives to maintain a standard of professionalism.

Well it's sad that the administrators could even come up with an idea such as "selling sex" over the internet with all this commotion going on over the whole "daggerin" issue. That just goes to show the people who have the opportunity to help make our country(Jamaica)a better place are the ones who are helping to make it worse.
I was watching the show on yardflex one nite and in the middle of an interview with a dancehall group who has had one HIT in their entire career (which produces nothing but filth) when the hosts asked a question, "what were their thoughts on the bans on the daggerin content & bleeps?" to which they replied "total rubbish", a viewer instantly replied saying "he don't respect any artiste who says the bans are foolishness" and started offering the chatter gunshots etc.....and to my surprise the chatter was BANNED FROM THE ROOM FOR THAT by administrator 'kali weed'. That just goes to show the level of maturity that is within the group. I personally think Yardflex made the right decision.

If all these developments are true, then I completely support the termination of the collaboration.

they were definetely out of ideas and were very bias. As media personnel you have to try to balance the equation and try to be fair where your opinion is concerned. the moderators were very unprofessional and lacked basic skills in planning or delivering anything of substance to their audience. one of them especially was very egotistic.

two heads are better than one. yardflex and jamaica live are trying to achieve the same goal are they not , which is primary the promotion of our culture.in business mistakes are made but also they are learned from.in this instance the progression of both parties have been hindered as jamaica live has its own following and yardflex the same and the collaboration brings both following into one.
i ask why a compromise cannot be sought as this would benefit both parties better, what is the bigger picture? how can we become stronger as one people if we cannot compromise with one another.

This sounds as if there are some personal issues. The CEO touch on some rather personal issue that leaves one to wonder. Would someone in this business be streaming sex workers? Was a full investigation done? One should not comment until all sides of the story is heard.

I have to admit that at first i was liking jamaicalive, but as time went on, i saw their schemes, they seemed desperate for money all the time, kaliweed was always rude and demeaning to the streamers, i soon moved on from them, but when i heard about them charging money to see strippers i wanted to vomit, these are the same people that bashed kartel, that bashed other ustream channels, i am glad that yardflex saw the light of day.i have been a yardflex reader for 1 year and am proud that they saw the light of day.kaliweed and kim are thiefs ans the worse business people mi eva see ina mi life!

I learned of Jamaica Live just tonight when I stumbled upon the Portmore Empire incident on a YouTube clip.
If these are the facts, I wholly support your severance of ties with them. I commend you for upholding decency, common courtesy and journalistic ethics.
Bless
