Nine year old write iPhone Applications


iphone.jpgFourth grader, nine year old Lim Ding Wen of Singapore writes applications for Apple's popular iPhone. The latest, a painting program called Doodle Kids has been down loaded 4,000 times from Apple's iTunes store in two weeks.

Lim said that he wrote the program for his sisters who are 3 and 5 years old. This program allows users to draw pictures with their fingers by touching the iPhone's touch screen then clear the screen by simply shaking the phone.

Lim who is fluent in six programming languages started using the computer at the age of 2. Since then he has completed 20 programming projects. His father, Lim Thye Chean, chief technology officer also writes iPhone applications.

Lim Ding Wen is presently in the process of writing another iPhone application which is a science fiction game called "Invader Wars".
