Digicel and LIME at war
The battle between LIME and Digicel has intensified as the two telecommunication companies are now headed for the Supreme Court.
Digicel has accused LIME of ignoring an injunction placed on them from using confidential Digicel information which they had received, unethically and illegally, through the newest telecommunications company in the island, Claro. Digicel has since then applied to the Supreme Court of Jamaica for an order to be made against LIME for contempt of court.
Digicel alledges that on January 29, not 24 hours after the injunction was granted LIME once again used Digicel's confidential data in a affidavit. Digicel's management has stated that this is a flagrant exhibition of disrespect for the court system of Jamaica.
LIME responded to the allegations stating that Digicel's statements made in a January 29 news release was highly defamatory and constituted a deliberate attempt to damage LIME's reputation by suggesting that they were in collusion with Claro.
