Was Serani Set Up in St Croix?
 With no confirmation forthcoming so far from authorities in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, the dancehall community has been anxious about the reported robbery at gunpoint suffered by multi-talented Serani of DASECA Productions while in that island.
The man who has helped hone the skills of many popular dancehall superstars and cranked out solid hits including ones of his own, appeared in St Croix on Saturday night, after having performed in Guyana last week, it was reported.
Following his performance, described by a Star forum blogger as “much to be desired, because the extremely popular singer is said to have performed for only a short time,” he was taken to his hotel and dropped off along with his road manager.
It was reported that there just happened to be a set of robbers on the scene as the two alighted from their ride, who held up both parties at gunpoint, led them to their room and ordered them to lay face down, before robbing them. The coincidence in terms of the perfect timing of these Virgin Island robbers and their ‘perfect’ victims – who just got paid a tidy sum for performing, is leaving a sour taste in all forward thinkers’ mouths.
While no statements have yet been released from DASECA Productions, it has been reported that Serani and his road manager were also relieved of payment secured from the show held the previous night in St. Thomas as well money collected in Guyana. They also were allegedly robbed of some very costly jewelry.

Dat nuh sound rite at all. Not saying is a setup but somebody AT LEAST follow dem from di show. Glad im alright dough. Anything material can be replaced and di tief dem will get theirs eventually.

It's unfortunate that he got robbed if he actually did. It's also unfortunate if it was a setup. On another note, the show was worse than "much to be desired". Not only didn't he show up for the show he was advertised for, he gave a so-called "free" show to make up for the one he missed and gave a half-assed performance. Quite honestly this is typical of the unprofessionalism that some of these dancehall artists come with. It's unfortunate that he got robbed but on the other hand it's not a complete surprise.

My poor baby Serani. Set dem set him up man, straight. Just like Elephant man in England some years ago. It's a terrible thing, but be glad they left you with your lives, because from what I read, they told them they were going to kill them. Wha do people? kill dem over money? I am from St.Thomas, Virgin Islands,born and raised!!! I just moved to foreign. I don't want to say they were set up but, on another note I DON'T PUT ANYTIN PAST NO CRUCIAN, as we call our fellow islanders from St.Croix!!! They cant see they jus mek matters worse for promoters to eat? How they goin have any more shows now? Dont expect the police clowns them to give you no answers eitha,cause they jus as crooked!!! Thank God they ain kill them,cause thats what they normally do. That only means it was some newcomers,the real troopaz would have done them,sorry to say,thats jus how they move. My condolences to the artists,manager,and whom ever else. I apologize for my people simple and greedy mentality. 1 Love

This dont sound RIGHT at all, as dubwise said someone ha to follow them and i think some body no about this as they leave the party and exist the car someone is there waiting on them. the bible said do not judge but to all of these artist who get book for shows by promotors LISTEN CHANGE YOUR HOTEL ROOM WHE YOU GET THERE BECAUSE SOME OF THESE PROMOTORS ARE THIEF

I find that one hard to believe even though I know that Cruzan's shoot first then ask questions later. They don't make no joke.
(1) No artist or management who have sense would be walking with money from previous shows to other islands/countries. If they have sense or business sense they would use Western Union and send back home most of the money.
(2) They entered on US soil/ US Territory so if they lost all that money as they claimed. It is easy to find out (a) they would have had to declare that money at the airport with customs/INS.
If they did not how will they explain that to the Authorities it would get them in trouble.
I am wondering now if all of this is just media attention/hype. It is so hard to believe artist these days, as they will go to length with anything for media attention.
If is so, it just goes to show you how dumb they are NEXT TIME USE WESTERN UNION OR MONEY GRAM OR WIRE YOUR MONEY TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT even the average Joe know that.

This is f*ck up how they blame the promoters. The promoters of this show have a very good reputation with artist they bring down. Serani and his manager wouldn’t mention what they did to this promoter the week before this show right? Well im gonna let the public to know what is being left out. On December 27 2008 Serani was to perform on st.croix. Over 1000 people to see his performance but to their disappointment Serani was a NO SHOW. There was no communication with his manager Julian. No one return a phone call until the next day saying that Serani missed his flight. Remember now STINGS was on the 26th. So to my understanding he over slept. But the 27th show on st.Croix was of no important to them so they needed to not communicate with no one.. People behind the scenes know bad and arrogant his manger Julian is.. Because of his NO SHOW the community was in out rage saying Serani is a bluff and he rob their money. The promoter now had to rebook Serani for the 5th of January and give a FREE show to the public just to maintain his GOOD NAME AS a promoter. Some people feel offended of this FREE show because of the first one some had to pay to see him perform. NOW lets get down to the NITTY GRITTY that Serani is NOT telling his manager Julian. After the performance on the 5th he ran behind the stage. There was a groupie gyal who wanted desperately to meet Serani and just touch his hands. The road manager FOX told the promoter let the gyal in the car because Serani wanted her to spend the night with him. As to the road manager and serani wishes it was granted. When the promoter Drop them off their room I guess its when it all took place. Guess what serani the gyal you choose to spend the night with was a prostitute and the community was in out rage with you. So please back off of the promoter who treated you nothing but love. AS your friends such as Demarco and Dr.Evil how they got treated down here from the same humble promoter. Stop being in denial and let your people in Jamaica know that you pick up a prostitute to spend the night with.......Oh maybe you leaving this part out because you don’t want your girl to know...
