Best of Ele on shelves in February
On February 17, 2009 VP Records will release 18 tracks of crucial hits titled, “Energy God: The Very Best of Elephant Man.”
The 2009 Grammy nominee’s collection of number one songs from both the VP and Greensleeves catalogues will be packaged along with an up close and personal encounter with the ‘Energy God’ through a bonus DVD called, “Living La Vida Ele.” Some of Elephant Man’s sizzling stage performances are featured on the DVD, along with intimate interactions at is home in Jamaica and some hot music videos.
Loaded with top tunes, the album opens up with stellar party jams from the 2003 VP release, “Good 2 Go” like: Jook Gal Remix” featuring Twista, Youngbloodz and Kiprich, “Signal di Plane” and “Pon di Bank” - the single that made him a Source Award winner for ‘Dancehall/Reggae Artist of the Year’ and gave him a 2004 MTV Video Music Award nomination.
“Energy God: The Very Best of Elephant Man.” includes recent chart topping songs like: “Gully Creepa,” “Nuh Linga” and its remixed “Sweep” version, that the world got to know when Olympic gold medalist, Usain Bolt embraced it as his celebration dance in Beijing 2008.
The innovative spirit continues throughout the album with some off Ele's early works like "Elephant Message" off the popular Diwali riddim (that featured Sean Paul's "Get Busy" & Wayne Wonder's "No Letting Go") and "Bun Bad Mind" the official summer hit of 2004 that helped boost his career immensely.
More energetic than most when on stage, fans have given Elephant Man the name, ‘Energy God’ and he has certainly risen to the pinnacle of dancehall, especially with the latest, VP and Bad Boy joint major label venture, “Let’s Get Physical” sitting on the 2009 Grammy nominee list.
It seems as if it was just yesterday that this newly positioned Dancehall King, stormed onstage as a protégé of Bounty Killer and the Scare Dem Crew back in 1998; and there is no stopping Elephant Man who is continually on the rise.
