Orlando Blake appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown on Tuesday, to answer to charges of assault and malicious destruction of property after it was alleged that he attacked the complainant for cutting down his June Plum tree.
Blake claims that the complainant had in the past also cut down a tree belonging to his grandfather and upon arriving home and realising that the complainant had cut down his tree he approached him and a struggle ensued.
The complainant claims that Blake destroyed his door, diving goggles and snorkel. Blake, however, explained that the door was destroyed during the struggle, as the complainant had pulled a fishing gun on him and he was trying to avoid getting shot.
Blake said that the complainant's injuries were minor cuts from the gun.
He will appear in court on January 21.
