Montego Bay flood free

DowntownMoBay.jpgDue to the diligence of the St. James Parish Council, who made sure that the drains in flood prone areas were cleared, Montego Bay was prepared for the onslaught of Tropical Storm Gustav.
Early Friday morning the municipal police and the Red Cross volunteers were busily patrolling the city. A truck was also observed collecting debris.
Janel Ricketts, the community relations officer for the National Works Agency said that there were no major problems in the city, except that they were still without electricity.
However, several roads in other parishes have been blocked and teams have been deployed to clear them.
