Mighty Crown celebrates 17th anniversary in Japan

Mighty Crown 2_edit.jpg
Forty thousand revelers turned out on Saturday, August 16 for Japan's largest Reggae festival in Yokohama, Japan to celebrate the 17th anniversary of Mighty Crown.
Yokohama Reggae SAI was first conceived in 1995 by MIghty Crown as a means of celebrating their anniversary in the business and highlighting Reggae/Dancehall in Japan.
The festival was certainly not an ordinary event for Irish and Chin, Inc as there were number 1 sound systems and extraordinary performances by artistes Mr. Vegas, Wayne Wonder and the High Energy dancers. There were also a slew of top Japanese Reggae artistes.
The crowd roared in appreciation at the hits that Mighty Crown selected and as ace selector Sami T played some of Mighty Crown's latest tunes.
Mr. Vegas whose energetic performance, along with the acrobatic moves of HIgh Energy dancers, caused the crowd to erupt in appreciation said that the festival had the largest audience that he has ever performed before. He also enjoys how the Japanese have embraced Reggae/Dancehall music.
Plans for next year's Yokohama Reggae SAI are already in the planning stages.
