Buju in "American Prayer" video
The video for the song "American Prayer" written by Dave Stewart and U2's Bono, in support of Presidential hopeful Senator Barack Obama, will be aired on ABC's The View on Thursday, September 18, to coincide with his guest appearance on the talk show.
The song features Obama supporters Whoppi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, Macy Gray, Beyonce, Cyndi Lauper, Kareen Abdul-Jabbar among others, and Jamaican Reggae Dancehall star Buju Banton.
A representative from Stewart's camp explained Buju's inclusion by saying that with Dave's love for "...Jamaican Dancehall culture music it made sense to reach out to one of its biggest stars."
According to Stewart, the lyrics of the song, which inspired the video, highlights "...the moment America finds itself in, daring to re-imagine itself and its place in the world."

America already has it's place in the world. Are we to imagine America looking more like France?? (who would be speaking German without us) We need to come down from this Barak hype and tek him for what he really is. A arrogant America hating, race baiting loser. He fits right in with the girls on the view.
And oh yeah, mek sure your tires are inflated, like his head blowing his ears out.

I love me some Buju, but I also know American politics. Obama will have to explain the "hate music" that is associated with dancehall. I think it was a bold move including Buju in the clip.

"eediot"... Obama is not hype. He is the change we need! And Buju is one of the Greatest of all times. He is a powerful song writer with a voice reminiscent of Paul Robeson! He has been on top of the game for a long time and has not gotten the recognition he deserves.

Also please remember that 40+ yrs ago, black people didnt even have a say so for him to be in the position that he is in..If he is Arrogrant, Inflated SO F*CKING BE IT!

I will stand up and say I'm full of hope for Barack and his presidency. He can't do any worse than the white man already has (bush). Let's believe and dare to hope.....Let's support our brother until he shows us that our hope is misplaced. Give it a chance....
