Doctors discover the Achilles heel of HIV

lab_testings_edit.jpgDoctors of the University of Texas Medical School in Houston claim to have found an "innovative way to kill the (HIV) virus."

Drs. Sudhir Paul and Miguel Escobar say that they are not talking about suppressing HIV, but destroying it permanently.

Dr. Paul said that they have "...discovered the weak spot of HIV," - a key protein in HIV's structure which does not mutate. He calls it the Achilles heel, which they will attack using a treatment called abzyme.

The theory that this treatment could be used to control the disease for people with HIV and prevent infection for those at risk has already passed lab and animal testing. However, extensive funding is required to launch the human trials as clinical testing is expensive.

Dr. Paul calls his theory "...the holy grail of HIV research..."

If this is true, then it would be great inorder to safe persons victimized by this deadly disease. However, i do hope that it does not all persons to think in a way that would allow them to lay around unprotected because they know there is a cure for it.

all these so called cures for aids/hiv that i have been reading about for the longest while and people are still dying everyday the truth is that no matter what cures they find it will never reach the market because the government is making too much money on people with this disease. The number 1 enemy of the government is death cause when these aids patients die theres no more money being pumped into treatments and so called cures they have medicines that can slow this disease to the point where people can go on wit there daily lives but they will never get rid of it there too much profit involved. This so called Achilles heel treatment will be swept under the rug just as the Jamaican ball moss treatment and even if it does come out it will be really expensive and it wont get rid of the virus just make you live longer with it to generate more money to the economy.

I was reading somewhere that black people make up less than 20% of the united states population yet they are over 50% of those infected with HIV...just begging my black brothers and sisters to use protection( condoms)and try not to have so many sex partners....its not wise to throw away your life for one roll in the hay!!!

come on folks stop with all that conspiracy shit. we know how we black people operate when it comes to sex. so dont go blaming the white man for your mistakes. if we used condoms then we would not be so high up in the stats. thank God for this. a lot of people really suffer from this disease. i dont care how much it costs it worth the money for those who need it.

Listen 2 what i believe , its all a political gain purpose and also racial and social debate. if there really is a cure cure 4 HIV 2 prevent aids Lets be real only the rich will have the PRIVILEGE of gaining access to the cure and all theses experiments and test that they are doing i wont really call it a waist of time but more of just delaying the real truth about the issue of the cure. all i can say is be wise and wear a condom every time.

I dont wrong the dancehall artists from fighting against homosexuals and lesbians because they are the ones who are contributing the most to the spreading ofsuch a deadly disease.
when a lesbian say a girl she needs and get a chance with he they will kiss for a time that exceeds the amount of fluid exchange to cause a transfer of the disease.

Are you stupid, the gays and lesbians are not the main contributor to this disease, it is every person who is sleeping around and not protecting themselves or their partners, so get a grip and stop talking rubbish. I agree that HIV/AIDS is a billion dollar industry for the pharmecutical companies and governments
