News Brief
No Alliance for Beenie Man's "Summer Sizzle"
 Beenie Man extended an invitation to Bounty Killer and Mavado to perform at his "Beenie Sizzle" event on August 6 at Jamalco Sports Complex, Halse Hall, Clarendon.
However, their manager, Head of Alliance Entertainment, Julian Jones-Griffith, has turned down the invite, even though the promoter of the event, Cabel Jeffrey Stephenson of Free People Entertainment, announced that if they attended the event they would be treated like royalty.
Regardless of a release stating that the artistes will be attending, Jones-Griffith stated that Mavado is already booked for another event on that date, and that Bounty will be overseas. Jones-Griffith said that that was an error made by the media.
As he was vague about the details of their engagements, Dancehall advocates for peace between the artistes are left wondering if this isn't only a ploy to avoid Beenie Man.

New CEO for Air Jamaica
 Even though the Board of Air Jamaica has not made a definite decision, it is reported that Canadian-born, air-line executive, David Banmiller, who served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer five years ago, may be the man for the job of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Chairman, Shirley Williams, told RJR on Financial Report, that the Board is still deliberating.

Powell Beats Bolt in 100 metres in Stockholm
 Jamaican Sprinter, Asafa Powell, beat fellow Jamaican and World Record holder, Usain Bolt in the men's 100 metres at the Grand Prix meet on Tuesday, July 22, in Stockholm, Sweden.
Bolt who relinquished Powell of the world record title earlier this year, finished behind Powell's 9.88 seconds with 9.89 seconds.
Powell told reporters that he had been enjoying being in the background for the last few weeks, but is happy to show the world that Asafa is still here! He added that if he had lost he would still be happy as this was his first race after his injury.

This malace between black people have to stop. This is a ploy to seperate us so we don't succeed in society. I am glad that Beenieman extented a invitation to Bounty and Mavado shows real class and character on his part. We need to unify all the artist in the dancehall community so we can show the youths that we are for peace and aganist any kind of violence. Black people unite, and I garaunteeu alot of the problems in Jamaica will start to diminish quickly, that I propose you. I hope Bounty and Mavado reconsider cause their my artist as well, and they have so much talent.. It's time for Jamaica to unite as one and stop killing our each other over foolishness. Pride can only carry a man so far. Put your pride aside for the goodness of humanity. God ova devil..

Let us see how authentic Beenieman and the promoters are, by extending the invite to the Twin of Twins. I bet the $10 dollars lef in Beeniman's pocket after the Back Taxes are paid that there is NO public invite for the Twins. Why? because the only reason that Beenie invited Bounty was because he knew he wouldnt come. However he fears the Twins much more than Killa, so No invite. Watch and See

Beenieman has mature alot far as I can see, and its seem to me Bounty & Mavado are only for today, they have bad sportsmanship whether or not they feud over the years, it's we the people make dem feel important, a mek dem have money in there pocket. Respect to Beenieman for stepping up like a man. A boy is a boy, and man a man..Alliance gwan like dem bad, and that does not look good on there image. straight up

I think if these artistes(Bounti & Beenie) are to make peace it should be on a nuetral ground. not at either artiste promotion. it will definately bring a bias to the invited artiste. we all know Beenie's fans are not Killa's bestfriends. i think its a good idea not to show up. - for peace and character sake.
