Mayor Desmond McKenzie marked for death

desmond-mckenzie_hitlist.jpgDesmond McKenzie, Mayor of Kingston claims that he is 'marked for death'. According to him he discovered that his name was on a hit list. This information was revealed at the Jamaica Labour Party Area One Council meeting in Bull Bay on Sunday.

McKenzie claimed his name was among several on a list of public officials. But the Mayor is not cowering in fear as he boldly stated, "As far as I am concerned, I will never allow anybody, whether real or imaginary, to derail the work I am doing,"

"The only persons who can stop me from doing my work is the voters in the corporate area. I am not afraid," he said.

The Mayor made this disclosure as he was lamenting the murder of a public official, Jamaica Urban Transit Company Chairman, Douglas Chambers, just over a week ago.

Are the conditions in Jamaica ripening for a civil war? Who is in charge of the country? Are the Jamaican people so accostomed, that the murder of a civil servant in the process of doing there job just gets regulated to another news story?

Is there something that i am not getting ?

Desmond continue doing what you are doing i personally know that you are doing a fabulous job. I dont know why those scum bag who aren't even contibuting S@&* to society and the development of the country in a positive light have a problem so much.

Desi forward is the way to go ... continue doing your work ..... peace & love.

A word to the politicians though: I feel that these criminal elements are breed by the politicians; and just like a child who a gets out of hand and their parents can no longer control them so too is the case with these criminals.

Whenever you see a country is overrun by criminals and crime and it would appear that the government is not able to put a handle on it is because the ones that are running the country are the same ones perpetrating the crime.

Its just that now it has gotten out of hand.
