Robbery sends back US church group

salvation_army_logo_edit.jpgCrime continues to give the country a bad reputation. The situation worsened when a US-based church mission had to cancel plans to come to Jamaica arising out of the fact that 39 of their members were roused from their beds and robbed at gunpoint at the Salvation Army at Mannings Hill Road in St. Andrew hours before dawn on Monday.

According to reports gleaned by YardFlex the robbers were able to gain access to a secure area where the visitors were sleeping at the rear of the School for the Blind compound.

Among the stuff stolen were wallets, hand bags, digital cameras, cellulars before they made their escape at the back.

I was listening to Dear Pastor on the internet last night. The topic was: Do you love Jamaica?
When you think about the food, the music, the water, the weed, the massages, the mani and pedicures it sounds good. But when you think about someone coming in to rob you and possibly kill you, it's a no no.
I would love to visit my country for the wonderful things listed above, but I am not too keen.
Jamaica seems like it has become Babylon now.

some places need a dictator- i think jamaica is ready! let me be it- first thing-legalize weed and gambling. state weed and gambling. next build one rahtid prison. and just start lock up the gun mon thief raper.and run a bring back ja campaign -inform or die- the state wont kill you -your community bad guys will. everyday one channel recruiting ppls to put down guns. and start building better school-roads, hospital, levee system, sewer, and community -garrion or shanty zinc up house them days deh done. between weed and gambling jamaica would be rich -you don't have to ask for foreign help. tourism- tourist can walk from east to west in one peace. our energy plan will be solar- jamaica mek them own cars and appliances. ppl can go to school baby to retirement free. then they ask where the money come from? again weed and gambling. you have gun 30years- just like that. you dont like it i ship you off to foriegn. but when jamaica get nice and pretty hell no you not coming back. but the ppl have to want it. for it to happen- put me in charge- criminal mi nuh have know feelings for them. if you love guns go to america. its there right. but jamaica is one love and peace. where everyone would come to and say yes this is how i want to live. jamaica too corrupt.

Im not even the least bit surpised....people we are living in the last days. The bible told us these things were to happen so be not afraid of what you cant control. It clearly states inthe last days men heart will become desperately wicked, look around you, all over the world time is at hand, save your souls!

Material things has become our God. we kill for it,envy for it and worship it 90 percent of the crime stem from it. In the days of old the children of Israel lost their way because of it.You see now its the devils time, he knows he is losing so he is taken as many as he can with him. People humble yourselves and do not be easily provoked by evil men, pray for them cause they really dont know the wages of ther sin. Yes the battle is on!

until there s no longer first and second class citizens of any nations

T, please explain to me how your comment is productive. The blind people are already second classed citizens in a culture that care little for the diabaled and disadvantaged. These folks need help more than anybody else as the society has not set in place any sort of industries where the blind can work. They are 100% dependent on the Salvation Army and charities. Anybody who would rob from the most needy and vulnerable in society is lower than the most useless piece of trash. I hope when the perpetrators are found they get the maximum sentence for this crime.

I would like Yardflex to please get some info from the Salvation Army so those who would like to make a donation to help them get another bus and such can donate to an account. Yardflex please get the info and post it. Thanks.

It's really terrible, it's getting way out of hand now..... We need someone with some kinda answers, we can't live like this...

"bronxmon" I agree. A place like Jamaica does need a iron fisted dictator. Don't blame the "guns" or "material things" though. Guns and material things are inanimate objects. The bad mind mentality is the true culprit of why Jamaica is the way it is. Guns don't fire themselves nor do material things worship themselves. People do pull triggers and worship. If I was the dictator of Jamaica I would roundup and execute all gunmen, rapists and murderers (I know that's harsh but these people a total detriment to Jamaican society -eye for an eye). Lock off the borders so cocaine and other hard drugs along with illegal guns couldn't get in. Legalize marijuana and gambling.
