Excitement building for Portland Jerk Festival

Next weekend it will be time for Portland Jerk Festival and already many are salivating just thinking about the sumptuous treats that will be available.
Everything that can be jerked...and then some will be on offering at the venue and if that's not all then in between feasting on all the edible delights patrons will have the chance to kick back and enjoy performances from some of their favourite entertainers.
This year the jerk festival has been expanded to three days instead of the usual one. The activities will kick off on Friday with a treat for the kids in the day and then later on in the evening it will be adult entertainment with a retro party at Boston Beach. The following day it will be an all-inclusive beach party on Saturday, July 5 at Frenchman's Cove Hotel in San San.
Sunday will be the big day where the heavy weights come out to perform and all the vendors have their many scrumptious delights on display.
One woman who makes the trek every year to Portland told YardFlex, "I normally don't eat anything much around this time. I want to go there completely empty and fill up! There is something about Boston jerked pork."
For many though it's more than just the jerked delights, another lady commented, "It's one of the few events where you can take your family and really enjoy yourselves. Food, fun and good music...definitely my kind of thing," she commented.
The final day performances will be see a blend of gospel, lovers rock, dancehall and calypso in the form or artistes like Chris Martin, Noddy Virtue, Beenie Man, D Angel, Stitchie, Sanchez, Peter Lloyd, Byron Lee and the Dragonaires as well as local Portland talents.
