Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2006, Kaysia Johnson to host Island Queen on TVJ

MISS-TRELAWNY-Kaysia-Johnso.jpgIsland Queen, TVJ's exclusive show, begins its new season, airing at 6:30 pm on Fridays, with a repeat on Tuesdays at 9:00 am.

The show has a new host, in the form of Kaysia Johnson, Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2006.

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is the driving force behind the competition, in partnership with title sponsors, TVJ. The television broadcast is aimed at popularizing the competition.

Marketing & Public Relations Consultant at the JCDC, Dahlia Harris, explained that, (JCDC's) "Island Queen received excellent feedback from the public and we believe that it has contributed to a lift in the standards of the overall programme this year.

The winner of The Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition is selected as a 'cultural ambassador' and contestants at the parish and national level are judged based on talent, poise and cultural awareness. The winner will be determined by calls and text voting.
