Curry Festival in Westmoreland was a sell off event. The massive turned out to enjoy the sumptuous treats that were available. Everything that could be curried was curried and it seemed that's just the way the massive crowd wanted it as they flocked every available stall on the compound.
The day was about sampling, chatting, kicking back and just having fun. The vibes continued like that until it was showtime. The Mannings Chorale delighted with their sweetly blended voice, earning themselves some enthusiastic cheers.
The 'Jamaican Michael Jackson' managed to inject some laughter – couldn't tell if they were laughing at the act or because of their antics. DJ Nicholas was a sure winner as he injected some spiritual energy into the crowd going into some of his popular numbers such as What Kind of Church Is This, Mi Waan One Soul and others. By the time he was through the crowd seemed totally satisfied.
Jodian Pantry really 'bruk out' now. She called up a male volunteer on stage and 'wine pon him' as she sang. The crowd seemed to like the bit of excitement and when the Digicel Rising Star second placed winner left the stage, she had made her mark.
Stacious held her own with the crowd with some biting lyrics. Bugle only seemed to make that connection when he drew for What Am Gonna Do, Chris Martin was Mr. Confidence as he easily took command of the crowd especially the ladies who he had eating out of the palm of his hand. In between acts selectors from Vibes and Links FM did their thing, but one had to wonder if they weren't dragging out that stint because some of the artistes were not at the venue yet.
After a really long selecting stint surprise guest artiste Prodigal Son took the stage. He was a bit hit. He made way for the final act of the night Munga Honourable who took the curtains down on the eight staging of Curry Festival.
