Mavado rising higher this year

Last week Hype TV network premiered Mavado's latest scorching video, "Last Night." Hitting the streets 'racing', the Little X masterpiece gives viewers a pulsating stroll through what is seen as one of the roughest spots in Jamaica - his Cassava-Piece 'Gully' hometown.

Little X, who is the mastermind behind, creatively solid video clips like, Sean Paul's "Gimme The Light," Kanye West's "Workout Plan," and Usher's "U Got It Bad," directed this one in marathon style while on a brief 'break' from his film school professional development. The result - a dynamic video, that is reportedly spreading virally throughout major media circuits.

The single, "Last Night" is scorching up clubs and is featured on Mavado's critically–acclaimed album "Gangsta for Life: Symphony of David Brooks".

Also in the pipeline for Mavado, is the showcasing of his signature 'real raw' vibe on an upcoming official Barack Obama supporting mixtape to be produced by Green latern and Russell Simmons. The 'major league' production team requested Mavado join Lenny Kravitz, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Common and Mos Def; who are all featured on the compilation to be given away as part of the candidate's campaign. Mavado popular, "On the Rock" track was adapted to suit the occasion.

With that new, "On The Rock" re-mix featuring Jay-Z bursting out at number one on airwaves everywhere right now, Mavado has been thrust into the category titled: 'Best of Rock'; and will be featured as such in an upcoming Rolling Stones Magazine issue.

I hate This video, too much killing among our black man.If this is the life that he lives, well what goes around must come around. Why must the music industry promote so much violence? Lets start to clean up our act and show the younger generation a more peaceful and organic world.
every month I hear of someone losing there child to violence. Mavado is so talanted, please direct your energy to promote life.

I just have to say, I am happy for the success of Mavado. Also why is it that people always want to blame music for there issue or issues of the world? Every man is a free moral agent. Stop the pull pitting! Why doesn't anyone blame the SAW or these horror flicks, for all these issues, it is a double standard. Why when a especially "black entertainer" Is speeking on a gangster life style it's slack and just negative, but when these "White" entertaners(Actors, Singers..ETC...) do it it is art. It's all entertainment. I SUPPORT REGGAE MUSIC PERIOD!

This video is a F---in shame. Why do we promote this garbage. The sad part is that kids in the ghettos think this is what it means to be a man. Mavado is a true talent, but the video is straight disgraceful. He needs to use his voice to promote more positive acts instead of this foolish shotta business.

Didn't like the video, it looks very poorly done. Its highlighting violence in these poor community. Movado is talented but now I expect to see different things. Maybe he was showing a gangsta lifestyle, but I find it very sad cause this is exactly whats happening in JA, It's ashame we couldn't show gangsta in a negative light and then turn it into positive. Nothing is addressed or even left to the imagination. All its saying is a black man dies at the hand of another black man which is the norm, no productivity or mental elevation.

the gangster a me artiste but this is a cheap a*ss video that will do no good for ur career it cannot be played on tv whats the sense.come better than dat littlr x do it 4 free .

The quality of the video and the message are very poor. This video alone is enough evidence to justify why he is currently being charged with illegal possession of firearm and shooting with intent.

I hope he will come to the realisation that being a gangster for life gets him nowhere but behind bar.

you people fail to realize that these artiste are real people singing about events that are a reality in society. Its not so much the violent lyrics thats the problem but the portrayal of mindless violence as a good way of life as stated in Mavado's lyrics. These entertainers should be telling the uute dem to stop the frockery this nahh help we country.

Look on all the frockery a gwaan in casava piece if him care so much fi the gully him woulda try help stop and prevent that instead he is rumored to bi a big part of it. Wake Up PEOPLE!!
