Buju Banton's “Inna Heights” re-released
By: Joseph Cunningham
Its original release was in 1997 and the Penthouse/VP-produced album has been digitally modified as a two-disc (including DVD) package. It was released on January 22 bearing the logo of both companies.
Donovan Germain, Buju's manager at that time, says that the album's re-release "Shows that a deejay can make an album which is still relevant 10 years later."
The sequence of tracks on the album has not been altered, but this time there are three bonus songs at the end. Among the bonus is collaboration with Morgan Heritage, and live footage of his Reggae Sumfest performance in 1996.
Germain suggests that younger fans who are familiar with songs like
"Driver A," will be made to remember Buju's gift for social commentary.
