Bob Marley celebrated worldwide during his birth week

edit_bob-marley-03.jpgIndia, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Kenya and Israel, are taking time to notice that February 6 was the birthday of Bob Marley.

On the night of February 6, 2008, in Imphal, India, the 13th Annual Bob Marley Tribute, was held featuring Roots Reggae Bands and featuring guest artistes like Daniel Boko from Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh; Rewben Mashangva from Ukhrul, Manipur; PhuNingDing from Karbi Anglong, Assam; Dymsal from Shillong, Meghalaya; X-Cannibals from Imphal, Manipur and Jerry from Aizawl, Mizoram.

Jamaican artistes, Freddie McGregor, Delly Ranx, Chino and Weed Family were in Belgium and Denmark to perform on Bob Marley tributes there; a special celebration was held on February 2 in Finland which featured the best mix of roots reggae, dancehall and reggaeton.

In Germany, on Saturday February 9, there will be a Bob Marley Birthday Bash with Jah Woodland Sound featuring Jah Present, Mista Wicked & Riddim Disasta, special guest Gauwailers and a midnight, Ganjaman, while a Bob Marley 63rd Birthday Celebration will be held at Ganey Hataroucha, Tel Aviv, Israel on February 7.

Italy will Remember A Legend on February 9 with the presentation of the Kebra Nagast, translated for the first time in Italian by Lorenzo Mazzoni. A dance celebration with Heart on Fire & Dubass will be held at the Dread Lion Pub.

In Kenya, from February 8, there will be Bob Marley Day Street Walk and shows. The street walk will join children from Nairobi, Mombasa , Kisumu, Meru and Nyeri who have been affected by the crisis of election in the country. Events include First Word of Jah (Prayer), a fun day and a concert .

On Friday February 8, Mexico will host a Tribute to the Reggae Legends (formerly Bob Marley Day) Celebration in El Foro, Tijuana, while Slovenia will have a Reggae Vibes Earthday Celebration of Honourable Robert Nesta Marley in Tovarna Rog, Ljubljana, today.
