Montego Bay was home for Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival on the same weekend that the Inseason Juice KLAS High School Tour made its stop at Herbert Morrison Technical High School.
On Friday, January 25, Tony Young kicked off the tourist capital leg by introducing Principal Paul Adams who explained the uniqueness of the extraordinary school. He said the institution had the matchless insight to be the only one to offer a wide range of programmes. These courses include: Visual and Performing Arts, Business, General Studies, Science, Hospitality, Mechanical Engineering, Building Technology and Construction.
Being in existence since 1976 the school was named after a well known
philanthropist, Dr Herbert Morrison, who was also the foster parent of Rex Nettleford, cultural icon and former Principal of the University of The West Indies (UWI).
Principal Adams passed on the microphone, shifting the focus of this live broadcast tour for a moment to the rocking sounds of DJ Cat who had students moving to the beat of his selections. Then following a tight dance routine by a troupe, the Vice Principal, Mr. Haughton gave more interesting historical facts, this time with the spotlight on sports as well. Having been Vice-Principal since 1981, he spoke of the past achievements in netball and the DaCosta Cup.

Mr. Haughton was extremely proud of the high academic standards at the school that saw for example: two students in the past gain 21 CXC passes with mainly distinctions.
Dexter Lee, a Herbert Morrison Technical track star was introduced to the KLAS FM and live audience. He informed all of the upcoming Milo Western Relays which will be his next meet. "I am not watching anybody, just going out there to do my best," the winning sprinter said of his expectations.
This concert coasted like its balmy northern atmosphere with Little Joe, who traveled from Kingston to perform, giving an energetic set. Souls to Soul from Mo Bay delivered love songs that wooed especially the females in the crowd and Shane O closed off the concert by blowing minds.
His fantastic performance delighted many females in particular who rushed up to him afterwards for autographs and photo ops.
It was another well orchestrated High School Tour that was spiced up with the usual drinking contests among students; with Inseason Juice.
Tony Young thanked all who made the occasion a great one including, the 'KLAS team' and gracious sponsors: Inseason Juice, the main supporter, as well as Pharmaton, Addidas Deodorant, Aamm Co-op Credit Union, KFC and Yardflex Inc.
