Janet Jackson's first hit record was entitled "Control". She is now looking to gain the same success with her new album titled, "Discipline." Due to be released on February 26, Janet says this album is a direct reflection of herself.
Recently, Janet said that discipline of self has always been an important factor in her life. Staying true to form, she has never seen any of her artistic responsibilities as a burden. From doing many television appearances in her youth to her months of world touring, Janet forged ahead, intently developing her craft. "I wanted to reach people, and I had the good sense to see that couldn't happen if my skills weren't crafted with precision," she stated.
She has taken up the task of reaching people with such hot producers as Jermaine Dupri, Rodney Jerkins, and Ne-Yo. Working alongside such knowledgeable craftsmen, Janet created some of her freshest material yet. Songs like "Can't Be Good," "Letchu Go" and the title track "Discipline," are magnificent and truly show off Janet's skills. With such heavy hits and hitters on the record she's sure to garner rave reviews.
These songs, like all of her others, are straight from the heart. "I don't feel it, if I don't believe it, I can't sing it" Janet said and after a listen to a few of these new tunes we can see its still true.
No longer wishing to control every aspect of her life, Janet has fully realized the blessing that is discipline. She has also come to know that perfectionism is more a vice than a virtue. It can lead to permanent dissatisfaction and frustration and heart ache things, Janet said. She also told how it had taken years to learn that particular lesson herself. Janet has faith that she will continue to evolve ass both a woman and artist as the years roll by.
