Javaughn Bond – 15 and going places
By: Joan Wilson
Only 15 years old and already Javaughn Bond is a 'Superstar.' With talent that speaks volumes in his album "Superstar," produced by Marley brothers – Stephen and Damian, Javaughn focuses heavily on social issues in the society.
Most of the tracks have been written by his father John Bond and Javaughn's clear, sweet, strong adolescent voice rings out and begs for listening.
It all started for Javaughn at the age of 3 when he performed at a Christmas treat, then when he was 6 years old he wowed the Sting crowd...from then on there was no turning back for him as the singing fever had truly bit him.
When it comes to maintaining a balance in his music and school life
Javaughn has got this one down pat. According to him his time is well organized and his focus is on his academics. During the holidays he concentrates on music and if there are any performances in between he still keeps that balance. Still as much as he enjoys music Javaughn has other plans for his life. As he says, "Although I love the music I also love to draw. In the future I want to become an architect. That is what I am currently working towards. My grandfather is an architect and I would like to continue on that path."
The 15-year-old describes himself as a humble person who loves to play
football, drums, keyboards and to build rhythms on his computer. He says although his peers sometimes treat him differently he is trying to maintain a humble frame of mind because he "doesn't want to get lost in the hype."
In a few years time Javaughn hopes his name will be ringing on music lovers lips all over the world and who knows a Grammy too may be on the table for him.
Among the tracks on "Superstar" are "Present of Love," "Rich Quick Mentality," "Superstar," "Two Roads" and "Peer Pressure."
