Guilty!
Miguel Collins popularly known as Sizzla appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday to answer to a marijuana possession charge.
According to reports on January 4, Collins was driving a BMW motorcar, which he parked at 121 Windward Road. The vehicle was searched and a
transparent plastic parcel with vegetable matter resembling marijuana was found under a floor mat in front of the driver's seat. He was arrested and charged.
Christopher Townsend Collins Lawyer begged RM Glen Brown to keep the DJs record free. He implored that a tarnished record would blight
He told the court that a tarnished police record could affect the entertainer's chances of being able to perform in countries like The Cayman Islands and certain states in America, where work permits are only offered to individuals with clean police records. No heed was paid to his plea and the artiste was ordered by the RM to have his fingerprints taken and fined a puny $100.

Vybz Kartel afoul of the law again!
Adidjah Palmer popularly known as Vybz Kartel has once again found himself on the wrong side of the law. This time his mouth has put him in trouble.
Performing at the Amnesia nightclub in Ocho Rios he was warned by police to stop his use of indecent language...but the DJ paid no attention to them and continued his expletive laced performance.
His refuse led to his being arrested by the Ocho Rios police with bail granted yesterday morning and the DJ set to face Ocho Rios Resident Magistrate Court on February 5.
YardFlex would like to offer a solution to get these DJs to comply, stop fining them a measly $1000...let them clean up the streets in front of their fans...or give them some real embarrassing jobs to do!

He's guilty so why should he retain a clean police record. He knows that he is an enteratiner who travels all over to perform so he should think about what's good for his career and what's not b4 he goes round with illegal substance.

Jamaica has bigger problems than Artists using Badwords. How about the police try to stop the over run of violence in the country and let the artists police their own mouths.

What a waste of government resources.... i am sure that the people who came out to see mr. kartel are well aware of the language that he uses in his music and they seem to like it because he has sold millions of records doing so...exactly who is offended by this language? the police?

You mean to tell me with a spiraling murder rate the only thing the jamaica constabulary force can find the strength to do is to arrest people for smoking some weed and cursing. They first need to get the murder rate under control then you can start locking people up for nonsence.

Sizzla should know better than to be rolling around with weed in his vehicle...point is the law books consider marijuana an illegal substance whether we like it or not....The police have a job to do and that is to maintain the law... In order for peace and sanity to be restored to jamaica we need to enforce evrything thats on the books regardless of how mediocre it may be, use of expletives in public, jay walking, trespassing, urinating in public, prostitution, graffiti and any other petty offence.... should result in fines and/or punished ..It was done in New York, Singapore and Australia and as a result there was an immediate dip in major crimes...this police startegy became dubbed the "broken glass theory" by criminologist...I suggest that fellow bloggers look it up before they make some ignorant comments....Peace.

You know what... every body is tired of Sizzla... all these years and now he is busted for marijuana?? give me a break... he is a money hungry likkle piece a warra-it. I was at the St. Mary Me Come From concert and he did not behave like a statesman... it was then that people were saying he wanted to storm the stage before Jah Cure came on (Jah Cure had just gotten released from jail) and he was very worried at the reception that Cure would receive and that no one would want to see him...
it sticky out deh fe real!
I was recently in jamaica, and I saw smaller man than Sizzla openly smoking weed at the East Fest and police were all around... i even have a photo of a guy openly selling it and both plain clothes and uniformed officers were in attendance....
when people are tired of you, they are just that... TIRED OF YOU!

It seems to me that the Jamaican government is out to punish Sizzla for this simple indescretion. A 100 fine does not even qualify his possession as a misdemeanor so the only reason to put this on his record would be to hurt his career. Our country is spirally out of control and these are the issues the police and government choose to deal.

sizzla has been around so long and instead of grooming other artists in his camp, he continues to deride other entertainers... i would tell him to sock him mumma to! he won't even cede the spotlight to others... come off the damn stage and give someone else a chance...sizzla is nothing more a likkle coward... why does he need an entourage of 50 people around him. why one of them didn't take the blame for him???
when you have so many people around you, it's hard to tell fren from foe... this is only the beginning... he's banned from performing in most surrounding islands and the US is next...
Don't he know that people in other countries will organize and chase him outta town?? his music isn't even good anymore.. and all people want to see now is Jah Cure, Jah Mason, Lutan Fyah & Richie Spice!!

Quote from the Vybz Kartel article:
"let them clean up the streets in front of their fans...or give them some real embarrassing jobs to do!"
I've got an idea. Let's make Akon apologize to Sean Paul for stealing one of his songs ("As Time Goes On"), and deciding to rip off its riddim, and make a poor excuse for a song ("Don't Matter") out of it, and then steal all the credit.
Leave Sizzla and Vybz Kartel alone. Akon is your criminal -- in my opinion, at least.
