Daddy Ernie steams up UK airwaves and dancehalls

daddyernie_flyer.jpgDaddy Ernie, born Ernie Harriott in London, England – is one of Choice FM's long standing DJ's. He credits the purchase of an old gramophone he bought from a jumble sale as his first start at deejaying.

During his teen years he launched and established a sound system called President Downbeat with his brother and close friends. Subsequently, he became associated with the King Trojan sound system, which was affiliated with the Trojan Record company, one of the leading reggae labels at the time.

Later he teamed up with the Hawkeye International sound system, which eventually led to a spot at LWR, a seminal reggae radio station. After a short stint with another radio station, Time FM, he was asked to present Superjam on Choice FM, the first five-weekly reggae programme outside of Jamaica.

Following the recent success of his New Year's Eve show and dance, Daddy Ernie is set to host his annual birthday bash.

Taking place at the Tudor Rose nightspot, London on Saturday 19th January 2008, the event, now in its 15th year has become a calendar event for mature ravers. Mr. Fix It (RJR), Buppie C (Vibes FM), and Ranking Merva (Roots FM) will provide music on the night, plus there will be live PA's from lovers rock singers Lloyd Brown and Michael Gordon.

Get up and out in celebration of one of reggae's rooted ambassadors.
