MERRY CHRISTMAS to all from everyone at Yardflex!!

Royal_Caribbean_Christmas_Tree_new_004.jpg

It has been appropriately said that the first Christmas Carol was sung by angels at the Nativity of the Saviour Jesus Christ.

GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST, AND ON EARTH PEACE, GOODWILL TOWARD MEN; are the words the angels bellowed and today these lyrics drive the true meaning of the Christmas season.

Often getting lost in the hustle and busyness of this festive laden time, is the root of it all; that wonderful gift of Jesus Christ to the world.

So in giving God the glory and holding fast to peace on earth as well as the angels' joyful message that burst forth from their serenade – mankind can surely claim continuous good.

HAPPY KWANZA from all of us at Yardflex!!

Kwanzaa is the African American celebration, free from political and religious affiliations. It has a strong focus on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce and self-improvement.

Not intended as a substitute for Christmas, but as reaffirmation for
people of the African Diaspora and their culture, Kwanzaa was initiated in 1966 by Dr Maulana Kiswahili and is observed by 18 million worldwide.

Meaning "first fruits of the harvest" in the African language, Kiswahili, Kwanzaa is based on seven guiding principles or Nguzo Saba. One principle represents each day of the celebration that runs from December 26 until January 1.

They are: Umoja - Unity, Kujichagulia - Self-Determination, Ujima -
Collective Work and Responsibility, Ujamaa - Cooperative Economics, Nia - Purpose, Kuumba - Creativity, Imani – Faith.

Let the principles of Kwanzaa lead your way.

Growing up in Hector's River Portland, during the Holiday Season was so much fun. Early Christmas morning all the children in our community would walk thru hills and vallies singing Christmas carols with Mr. Berchel. When we returned our neighbors Godfrey and Michael, created beautiful Christmas lights to hang on their Genip trees, so we all could celebrate the season. This picture evoke those wonderful memories. Thank you Yard Flex for this beautiful picture.
