Vybz Kartel and Movado really need to take a deeper
look into why they initially became reggae artists.
From a selfish point of view ,it appears that both these gentlemen are more concerned with their vigilante "image" than their image to the future leaders and society of Jamaica.
They should both ask themselves what is the true purpose of entering into the musical world. If the answer is violence or a thug image or even the mere fact of unable to be penetrated -from a psychological point of view- then the whole purpose has been defeated.
I'm sure that many agree with me that they are both multi-talented artists but what have they done with their talent? Is fighting and manifestations of being a gangster going to make them classic, veterans in the coming future? If this is what they think,I believe they need to evaluate their concept of the word music.
Music should bring happinness not sorrow, peace not war, love not hate!

The patrons that attend these social events to participate in a Jamaican phenomenon are part of the problem not the solution. They help boost Movado/Kartel's career with these outburst of voilence whether directly or indirectly. These so-called artists are undercover gunmen and killers who contribute to some of Jamaica's skyracketing crime rate. They make music glorifying killings and claim to be the defenders of destitute people ask them how many of them have built something with thir new gain success to help benefit their community? As one artist says, "They are just a ghetto superstar who tell people to commit crimes they themselves would not commit or even think about committing."

Well said Didi, finally someone with intelligence and an intelligent comment. Ignorance is nothing special, anyone can be ignorant. not everyone can be intelligent, we need to stop glamorizing ignorance and dirty lifestyle. The money your spending on image or aftermarket body parts (fake hair/brest whatever) use it to buy some intelligence. INTELLEGANCE YOU CAN BUY, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE IT, ITS PRICELESS.
Movado,Vybes Kartel,Bounty,Beenie,Spice & all a dem who think a dem run things, keep on convincing yourselves. A we (public) mek oonu have so much hype. Mek we stop go shows wat u all to appear on & stop buy oonu fuc....ry music & see if oonu hype no cut. Oonu is fuccn up Jamaica & fuccn up da music industry. When done oonu want come a foreign come do wat? fucc up Jamaica name more? Oonu is a blood claat set of idiots. You all need to stop da tribalistic, animalistic, prehitoric stupid ass, punk ass behavior. Aidonia go Saint Kitts couple months ago & behave bad with da promoters, dem swear say dem would never put im on a next show in that country. Dem ban Movado before im even set foot in a particular country cuz im chat bout too much murder & killing. All a oonu one style & one sound DJ need to give da biz a break. When oonu going to learn that we r Jamaicans & da World log on & a watch we!!!!

The crowd that these artistes appeal to do not comprise the future leaders of our country. I mean how can you people like artistes that are glorifying murder and violence? I thank God everyday for not being born into the ghetto...if these artistes are the best of what the ghetto has to offer then it is truly very very sad.

@ Matt,
Aye, there is da rub (Shakespeare)
For years the plight of the ghetto yutes have gone un-noticed by those who are fortunate to have not been born in da ghettoes of JA. With the ever increasing issues in JA, this plight is now being brought to the front doors of those who thought they were miles & miles away from the problem. Hungry ppl will always, & I repeat "ALWAYS" seek out "FOOD" via any means necessary. Does the govt & those who thought they were safe, have the balls to do anything about this, or is it just pure rhetoric over & over again ?? Nubady nah duh nutten bout it, & it saddens me. De DJ dem will "ALWAYS" DJ what the masses want, not what one & two uptown folks want hear. Soh if de masses rate de gun tunes, don't blame de DJ dem fi eat food & provide fi dem peeps weh hungry tuh. It is not a ghetto ting, is a JAMAICAN ting. When we ALL confront de problem & try defeat it, den wi can stawt blame de DJ's dem. I am a strong believer dat DEMAND DRIVES SUPPLY, and not de ada way around.
