A Diamond Christmas awaits us
By: Joseph Cunningham
Macka Diamond is professing "peace and love" ahead of a highly touted, and a possibly venomous "Sting" at Jamworld in Portmore, St. Catherine.
It is no secret that since the return of fellow female deejay, Spice, there has been a lot of "word dropping!" At the recently held West Kingston Jamboree, Spice made her latest swipe at Macka Diamond, after the former reportedly spent too long onstage.
Spice followed soon after Macka's performance, and ascended the stage saying," A wha do some gyal, dem tinka album launch this!"
Macka Diamond currently has a string of "battle-cry" lyrics on the airwaves, which have been causing many to wonder what are the possibilities for Sting.
However, regardless of all the drama, Macka says she is all about professionalism and spreading love.
"I will put on a charity event for visually impaired kids at the Salvation Army on December 15. I'm just gonna go there with some gifts, and drink, chat, play and have a nice evening with them." I really don't have time for the passa passa, she continued.
In related news, Macka has recently completed a number of collaborations. Grammy winning artiste and 2008 nominee, Toots Hibbert is one, also, Bunny Wailer and a remix with Trinidadian Calypso artist, Patricia Roberts.
Further, plans are well on the way for "Diamond Splash," the deejay's new flagship event, slated to run from January 25 through to 27.
