Greater is the power that unites us, than that which divides us. This was the thought on Tony Rebel's mind when Yardflex spoke to him about Rebel Salute's clean image in comparison to other stage shows; since its inception more than 15 years ago.
Rebel Salute, which is known to bring visitors from the length and breadth of the world, is characterized by strictly conscious music. In essence the show has always been a predominantly "Rastafarian exhibit" and Tony Rebel is all for musical consciousness.
"Staying away from the passa passa can be achieved. I have been tempted many times, but this is the road which I have decided to walk. My show represents me," the rebel said.
Notably, when "hardcore" acts have been invited, their performances have always been critically reviewed by the media for the slightest display of misconduct.
Well, this year, Busy Signal, a member of the Bounty Killer led Alliance will be the bonafied Dancehall act slated to perform.
The show will be held at Port Kaiser Sports Club in St. Elizabeth, on January 12, 2008. Performers already booked for the event include: Ini Kamoze, Monte Alexander and Junior Reid.
